Started Jakes campaign after finishing Leons. Im guessing its all (further) down hill after finishing Leons story?
Scratch that I’ve just double checked, the other dates aren’t highlighted so I think I’ve got all those cutscenes
is there a way to disable the gay motion blur when I aim?
its annoying and…GAY
mercenary mode jake is a beast. probably the best merc character in the game just like daddy.
so far leon seems pretty lackluster just like resident evil 4.
About the horror thingy
Since the game was originally and still is called Bio Hazard, does that mean fans of “Resident Evil” won’t let go of a lie?
lolno
It’s a horror franchise and has identified itself as a horror franchise regardless of it’s name.
Yes, but RE 1 was also the first game to label itself Survival Horror, so if anything the RE franchise should be the one to define what the genre is.
Doesn’t mean other people can’t have their own definition, but I think RE is taking the right steps.
Just beat Jake’s first chapter and I just jumped right into pro. Freaking Ustanak hits really hard and some moves will cause an instant down. The end of the first chapter is hilarious. I really dislike the qtes, but I’m actually having a lot of fun playing around with the stuff you can do. Getting knocked on your back is a problem if you think you can charge dash at people recklessly with Jake from far away. In Hand to Hand you can aim, then click left stick (still in neutral though) and he would perform a crouch, then he can do a quick step left or right or roll forward. I assume this might be useful since enemies seem to aim high and if you want to use the normal h2h attack without losing sight of your opponent while strafing.
Overall I’m actually liking it. I think it’s because I started on pro and actually playing by myself, that I’m probably getting away with many near death experiences with Jake, so the tension of trying not to die is pretty high . Though at the end I only got an A. If I knew I was being graded on a chapter by chapter basis, I know I have to run through all this again eventually.
I guy also tried to intersect with me on the boss fight, but unfortunately the connection failed. I’m so glad the AI does not die in this game though. I hear Sherry’s screams constantly because she can’t dodge the Ustanak or a sniper bullet. Also who else thought of this at the end of the first chapter?

Resident Evil 1 defined the genre. Or to be more specific, Shinji Mikami defined the genre.
Since then several games have followed the general principle of a survival horror and all those games collectively make the survival horror genre.
Resident Evil 6 is an outlier by a large margin. It takes what’s already been established and shits all over it. Just because RE made the genre doesn’t mean it has exclusive rights to suddenly change what the genre has already been established and generally accepted as.
Oh shit, I just ran the catacombs map I got from Gamestop. If those zombie motherfuckers are red, DON’T ROLL BACKWARD. THOSE GUYS WILL STILL RAPE YOU.
It seems that crouching can be done with anyone, not just Jake in H2H. I need to clear that up. Chris feels way easier to run through mercs than Leon. I got Yakuza Chris on my first try, but Leon I felt needs more melee attacks then Chris to kill enemies when stunned. Though I think Leon is gonna get a lot better with skills (I had none equipped). If he can hit harder, I think out of the 3 you start with he might have the best quickshot with wingshooter because you can stun 3 different targets and the last one is a knockdown so you can go on a headstomp afterwards.
Some things I noticed on my few mercs runs, so anyone can add one to make it better. Don’t save your pills for when you are hurt. If you are about to be red or are red on stamina, just use it. If you get hurt and really need to heal, that just penalizes you for having less resources for stamina. I think stamina management will be key in Mercs. If you see people with armor and want to melee them, it’s easier to just run up and kick them, because usually the quickshot will hit their armor. Even on firefighters with hardhats, sometimes it’s random but I will quickshot the helmet, wasting stamina and a bullet. I think you can just kill these guys with gunfire instead if you are short on time.
How do I unlock the other two merc maps? I don’t want to do Urban Chaos forever
I read we need to beat campaign. I got an A on both and was wondering why they didn’t unlock. I wanted to play more mercs o_O
Do we need to complete all of them? I completed Leon’s campaign before doing Mercs and I got S Rank with three characters. I want to give the other two maps a spin.
I looked around and this is what I read
Lol a guy just told me in other forum that Capcom is paying me because i have a negative opinion of the game.
Sigh…
Have fun guys.
Wait, what? Did you tell him to get his head checked?
Is really hard to have a decent discussion with some fans
Well, i think that RE6 is the most trolled game of the year imo, (Diablo 3 is behind ) : http://www.metacritic.com/game/xbox-360/resident-evil-6/user-reviews (just for a good laugh because for a lot of people Metacritic is a joke) the comments are just hilarious on Gamespot, IGN, Destructoid, etc.
There is a total flamewar because of all the mixed scores of the game, so far i’m having fun with the game but not best in the series in my opinion
Is there a possibility the game could have been rushed with them pulling the release date back an entire year?
So, I should rent it? I’ve heard some people say that this game is kind of guilty pleasure.
Oh shit is that what happened? I guess it’s possible…
