Resident Evil 6

I’m playing Jakes campaign now and I find that his is okay. The gameplay doesn’t feel as crisp as 4/5 and the graphics don’t look as good as 5 imo, but it is a solid game so far. I noticed i like using melee more than weapons with Jake.

Call Kotaku!: http://kotaku.com/5948171/resident-evil-6-the-kotaku-review

It’s garbage. Try the demo, that’s exactly what you’re going to get.

There was a pretty interesting comment calling out Japanese gaming in general. Citing the failures of Final Fantasy,Ninja Gaiden and now RE. Prime examples of games focusing too much on presentation and flare rather than substance. I remember Kojima saying Japanese tech for gaming was 3 years behind the west and they don’t have the budget to compete. I’m starting to agree with @SWBeta that the Wii isn’t all that bad. Encouraging devs to think about gameplay rather than graphics. I for one am not interested in moving to next gen till we start thinking about how the game plays.

BTW Kotaku is a no no here on SRK.

Sexy cop Helena is mighty fine. Though her loadout is ass.

Camera is much improved in the final version.

Well, the camera is still crap, the game is crap.

Dead Space 3… please don’t turn out to be the same shit as RE6!! :arazz:

I really want to see an AVGN review for this, that would be awesome.

And thats why WiiU just won this generation…

ROFL…look i like to give the WiiU the benefit of the doubt but like I’ve said before, the WiiU is what the Wii SHOULD’VE been in the first damn place.

I’m in chapter 2 of Leon’s campaign. It’s pretty “meh” so far. For many reasons (that I won’t get into now) this game is just simply not as good as 4/5. I’m still finding moments of fun and some clever ideas but I feel like Capcom missed their mark. I will bring up two annoying as fuck issues:

Saving. The game doesn’t save at each checkpoint like how you think it should but instead saves after every loading screen. You’ll be going quite the distance between loading screens and having to wait that damn long is rude to quit the game is rude as fuck. RE5 did a better job of handling saving that’s for sure.

(This may be because I lack the appropriate upgraded skills ) Is anyone finding that the overall impact of shooting in this game diminished? I remember the first time I got the Ithaca in RE5 and how it immediately felt like I was doing serious damage. Here once I got the shotgun with Leon the pellets don’t seem to hit with that same force. Zombies just keep clamoring forward for more.

So how ass is this game? Was planning on copping it

It’s not as bad as people are making it out to be, but then again I haven’t played Leon’s campaign yet

Been playing for last few hrs…enjoying it.

Sent from the next dimension using saiyantalk…

Game is ass, will let you know when I clear Chris’ story and go to the next one. Infinite bullets would make it fun.

Have you teamed up with another co op team online yet? And has your game been invaded yet?

…Then isn’t that a good thing? We now got a more powerful system and some better social services with Nintendo having a beefier third party support. That’s kind of exciting.

Also I’m not really confident the PS4 and Xbox whatever will impress me, I can’t see a big graphical leap, especially for the prices they will surely ask for. Xbox already having issues by using subpar hardware (Again) and asking third parties to fix it lol.

Oh and obligatory “RE6 looks like meh” comment to stay on topic.

AVGN doesn’t do reviews so much as he does performances. Could still be amusing, though.

I remember seeing the “Good job!” emotes on Conan O’Brien’s Clueless Gamer segment and thinking that the thumbs-up animation looked really janky. Like Leon’s arm was disconnected from its socket.

Completed Chris campaign now. Best way to describe this game is RE4 is Sonic Adventure, and RE6 is Sonic Adventure 2

(RE5 being sa2 prelude)

So Its amazing?

I have no problem with the game, it’s pretty good to me. :coffee:

Erm, there’s too much going on. The only way to review this game is to wait until everybody is fully into it. The way the deeper details are handled is through either collectible text that you read outside of gameplay, and there is a cutscenes time line showing collectible cutscenes. I’ve completed Chris campaign on veteran and there’s only a third of the timeline in Chris section filled  there’s a lot of replay ability if agent hunt and co op/cross co op stay fun. I think Sonic Adventure 2 is the best comparison
