And after seeing that video of Chris I’m a little afraid of this guy. After finding out he could punch boulders he just went ahead and took it up 5 notches. Mutated Krauser couldn’t even step to this beast of a man. shivers

I’d love to play Leon’s some more but wading through all that slow stuff in the beginning really kills that desire. Yeah 60 seconds of zombie fun! -_-

The biggest problem is just the camera/field of view and the lack of a pause button. I think I get everything else about this game though.
- For some reason the yellow laser works best for me. I can clearly see it. Purple might also be a good choice.
- I like the stamina bar to regulate all the crazy moves. On harder difficulties I can see this making for a better challenge. I mean I hope zombies/javo don’t continue to die in 3 or less melee hits. Let me warm up some ribs first.
- The new pill system makes sense when you are on the run. No more stop and spray, just jog and pop. And since the health spray is selectable the best health item has more of an importance than in RE5. In RE5 it seemed kind of redundant vs just finding a red and green herb combo.
- I see that the dodge move works better if approached like this. When stationary pressing LT+A (Left Click as well) will make your character duck down. While they are doing the quick duck pressing in any of the four directions will do the dodge. In a way it’s a slightly tighter system than before. Not to mention rolling to cover puts you right into cover as long as you hold LT. I kinda like this.
- Also the new run/vault controls are a welcome addition. After killing all the javo at the end of Chris’ demo I just ran around hopping over the low cover and testing the slide mechanic (pressing LT while running initiates a slide). I think that this might come in handy when you need to approach a dangerous enemy without having to sacrifice mobility or firepower.
So I’m back to wanting this game for the fall. I’m too much of a Mercs/UpgradeAllZeeGuns! addict to not want this game. The question is where do I preorder it…
There’s also some interesting mechanics of the stamina system. If you ever really need stamina quick, pop 1 pill and it gets you back to full. You also get more stamina back faster if you lay on your back and if you are in cover it seems. Those seem faster than just normally standing around waiting it out or trying to do a light jog around, very useful if you are in the red on stamina.
Chris has been fighting BOWs for 4 main games now. Fighting monsters all the time is going to screw him up eventually.

I’d actually find it funny if the reason Chris is in the state he was in that bar was because he doesn’t have a goal anymore. After RE1 he focused all of his efforts and hate into Wesker which I imagine myself is the reason he’s all roided up in 5. I can easily see him working out and yelling out ‘WWEEEEESSKKKERRRRRRR!!!’ to get through those last few sets. I can’t wait to see his reaction when he finds out who Jake is lol.

I’m more displeased with RE than “hatin’” the game. It’s, overall, not a game I would play which makes me more sad than angry. Plus, I’m just getting to a point where people are going to do whatever they want no matter the facts or the flaws of a product. I have been very on point with games lately in regards to if they suck or will suck. Asura’s Wrath, RE:ORC, SFxTK, for examples have all not come close to what they should have been as grand titles. I don’t want a game to “enjoy” I actually want to spend $60 and not want my money back, trade the game in soon as I beat it, or want to report a company for bad business practices over something I paid for. Not saying only Capcom is guilty of this. I want my moneys worth; not my money is worth getting squeezed dry and only get $24.99 - $29.99 worth of gaming (Lollipop Chainsaw).
Just easily forgettable games. I’m not saying that Capcom is a maker of bad games, but I will say IMO they sure aren’t makers of epic games anymore.
