Capcom couldn’t give a rat’s ass if you took the disc out, took a giant shit in it, and then sent it back to their offices, as long as you bought it, they still got your money, which means they can still do whatever the fuck they want with RE.
I’m not one for stupid, childish boycotting shit, but if a game looks unappealing to you and you hate what they did with it, WHY IN THE HOLY HELL WOULD YOU BUY IT?!
Developers didn’t just get greedier and more generic, it falls on buyer’s just being more stupid in general. “Oh this is the same thing as last year, I hate what they did with it, blah blah blah…” goes drops $80 on Collector’s Edition. You can say all the words against the game you want, but you’re still giving them the go ahead to do what you hate by buying the game.

Dude, the storyline for the Resident Evil series has always more or less dictated how the gameplay was going to go. Once we got RE4 it was pretty much set on how the series was gonna go from there on out. If you paid attention to the story from the end of RE4 and the beginning of RE5, damn near every terrorist organization has gotten a hold of these virus’s through the black market. So at least when it comes to Chris’s campaign, since he’s a part of the BSAA, of course its going to be action heavy. When it comes to Leon/Wesker Jr., you’re getting your classic RE/Nemesis feel in there campaign.
Actually Capcom mentioned at the EVO panel that after Dragon’s Dogma, they weren’t going to do the DLC practices like that again due to a lot of the fan reactions, soooooo yeah I don’t think anyone has to worry about getting the screwed over.
That mention they’ll be doing that going forward. For games like RE6 it’s too late to change any DLC plans
Doesn’t mean they can’t make the changes now. Honestly the biggest thing that people are sideline beefing with right now is whether or not the Ada mission is DLC. If it turns out that it isn’t(which I feel is the case) then people could care two shits about anything else thats DLC.
And Capcom has shown the ability to not only move up DLC dates but make them free. It’s HARD to do though if not planned initially, because that involves clearance with Sony and Microsoft, who I doubt would be happy with loss of their own revenue as well.

I couldn’t care less about the additional multiplayer modes. I’m more so talking about the extra [details=Spoiler]Ada campaign mission[/details]. If that is DLC, I’ll be upset. They pulled the same shit with RE5 and Lost In Nightmares (which was better than the main game… I wonder why). Who knows though. It could actually be an unlock on the disc. We’ll just have to wait and see.
I do recognize they did it with RE4, to a lesser extent, and I didn’t double dip on the PS2 version just to play Separate Ways either.
I already know it’s going to have dlc, it’s the type that agitates me, especially considering the amount of stuff games like Gears 2 and the original RE4 gave you from the start. I really, really don’t care about a “slayers” mode or half of the DLC mentioned in that thread. All I need is Mercs mode.

Lost in Nightmares and Josh and Jill’s Epic Escape were not on disc. So I don’t see how that was a problem. Also I think you are implying that Lost in Nightmares was pulled and if so it was probably due to time constraints. That happens all the time in development and dlc allows developers to finish what they started and release it later. Infact I think all of the RE5 DLC was handled wonderfully. I got a ton of crap to do in vanilla RE5 so I was happy.

What was done with RE4 wasn’t at all what they did with 5 or what they might be doing with 6. Wouldn’t even call that double dipping. Separate Ways never had a release on Gamecube and was eventually released for the Wii version of RE4. PS2 RE4 had a lower quality of graphics so the extra stuff was to make up for it.
I mean I hope that the extra mission isn’t on-disc dlc but if it is it’s already too late anyway.
255 minutes of cutscenes
So let’s say between all 3 (4 maybe) campaigns each one ends up with an hour of cutscene. So each campaign will probably take more like 5 hours to beat (assuming you don’t die often and aren’t scrounging for every little thing), so 15 (20) hours of gameplay. That’s a solid number to me.

Well apparently ever since RE4 and Dead Rising, Capcom has been telling us that whenever zombie/biohazard outbreaks happen, we need to brush up on our luchadore and wrestling skills so a human skull will pop like a water balloon if we drop kick it. I personally think the safest place in the RE universe would be Mexico, because those zombies can’t fuck with those luchadores. TOSTADA PRESS!
