I’ve beaten the first game. I’ve beaten 3, and I’ve played through most of Code Veronica, but I rented it so it had to be returned.
Also, everyone saw that coming. You’re supposed to see that coming. That’s why it’s in the game - it commands so much attention. You’re waiting for the moment that he’ll turn. THAT IS THE BUILD UP. That is also something that is used in almost every single zombie movie ever made. Hell, it was even in earlier RE games.

Thats what people tend to forget when it comes to RE is the fact that the series is called Biohazard and much like how Terrorism is, the shit will never end as long as you have that one person that wants to control it.

Resident Movie 6 is pretty entertaining to watch but it don’t know how engaging the gameplay will be.
I never said anything in the older games where more immersive. Immersion is a stupid term that doesnt apply to any moddern games. No games make players actually immersed in the world. Technology isn’t advanced enough to actually immerse someone. I’m just saying your argument about immersion is bulllshit.
And I hate 4 and its QTE’s too, games have too much of that shit these days.
Also I didn’t say the camera bullshit has never been used I’m just saying its a way for games to be more cinematic, like a fucking movie.
If 5 sold so much because of the name, then the argument that people like the direction the series is moving in doesn’t work.
Also I don’t dislike Re5 as a game, I just dislike it as a RE game.
That’s the thing. Most people DON’T like the direction the series is moving in. That is why they’ve tried to reincorporate what makes RE… RE while still trying to be a modern game for universal appeal.
Immersion is also not a stupid term. It doesn’t need advanced technology. You don’t need to completely forget you’re playing a video game, you just have to somehow feel attached to the situation, the character(s), or the story. That either takes good script writing, character development, or something has to be done to make you feel how the character should feel at that point; like there’s something at stake for you as well as the character. Earlier MGS games are immersive because of how tactical you’re encouraged to be. In most cases you have to treat it as though being spotted means death, so you have to think like Snake (or Raiden) would in that situation. You can’t (read: shouldn’t) just run and gun. Earlier FF games are immersive because of their stories. Bioshock is immersive because of its strange setting and great story telling. Zelda is immersive, Silent Hill games were immersive, earlier REs were immersive. Four and Five? Not so much. Why? Because you didn’t necessarily feel like someone stuck in a seemingly hopeless situation. Four started on a good note. The dark, foggy village was a creepy enough setting to make you feel cautious and fearful, but then what happens? You get enough ridiculously powerful weapons that could be upgraded and more ammo than you can carry towards the middle of the game that it doesn’t become an issue of “how am I going to kill these zombies or this giant creature” but rather “how much ammo will I have to pump into this creature 'til it dies and gives me more ammo.” And we all know the problems with five.
