Research: How many 'Current Gen.' Consoles do you own?

yeah I’m sort of doing some research on the indie side of things part of what this is tied to and am curious more about the fighting markets console interest. If you want access to as many homes as possible then you cna look at the sales figure, but if you’re looking at a niche market like TZ of HV or SRK - then you sorta want to know what they play on.

Just the PS3 and I guess you can count my PC as well though I don’t play new games on it.

Seems we play on PC, Xbox, and PS3. But you knew that already didn’t you? And both mainstream (SF) and indie games (Skull Girls) reflect that. Obviously you make a fighting game for both consoles. You can’t just do one console. If you aren’t a first party developer then why risk alienating gamers at all? The next question is the viability of the PC for fighting games. From what I can tell there is a vocal group of fighting gamers on PC. I think it’s one that companies besides Capcom should address. Can you find out sales data of the SFIV iterations? I’m curious to know too.

Also fighting games are social games and most people don’t have their PC plugged into big TV. Thankfully Microsoft paved the way with the 360’s usb controllers so that becomes less of an issue. People can still bring their sticks to a friend’s crib to play on a PC if they want to.

I own all current-gen home and portable consoles.

In order of most used:
PS3
360
PSP
Wii
3DS

PS3 55%
PC 25%
PSP 15%
Wii 2.5%
Xbox 360 2.5%

I haven’t turned on my Wii or Xbox 360 for months at a time. My PSP is getting more use with SRW Z2 being out, though I think my PS3 will get a lot more use this fall/winter.

now that i have dark souls for ps3 thats all ill be playing

I have 2 ps3’s. The newer one I got just for 3soe, but I might trade it in later down the road for an xbox 360.

I had a PS3, but it was stolen two summers ago. I also had a PSP and DS Lite, but I had to sell them due to financial troubles. Hopefully I can buy new ones as well as a Wii once I get back on my feet.

I do a lot of gaming on my PC, but it’s nothing high end. Just emulators, roms, independent games, and mahjong type titles.
