Research: How many 'Current Gen.' Consoles do you own?

And which ones get the most play time. Please keep ANY ‘this console is better’ arguments out. This is research, and I’m simply curious. For PC, please only vote IF you actually play on it, not just because your system is ‘up to snuff’. though an HTPC for gaming can count. If you have multiple, I’d love to hear ‘why’ you do, again please refrain from any console war type comments.

For myself I own
360-PS3-Wii-HTPC, though truth be told, I don’t TOUCH my Wii, I bought it simply because it was hot and I worked at Best Buy so during the shortage I could finagle one. I scooped my PS3 for Blu-Rays, I was thinking I’d play on it more, Infamous and GoW series, but I just don’t. I’ve never even played a game online. I spend 95% of my time on my 360 with a little bit of time on my HTPC I built. I’d spend more time on it, but I’m still cleaning up my ROMS and the such (please don’t ask)

Well, I picked all as I own all. I dont really play much on my consoles anymore because I do most of my gaming on the PC. I own all of the consoles because I like having options. I dont really ever use the Wii to play games (I only own one game for it and still havent played it) I use it to stream Netfilx and thats all. The PS3 is primarily use to stream movies from my PC and to watch DVD’s. Mostly kids movies and shit like that. Its more reliable IMO so I dont mind having it running all the time for the kids. The xbox just sits there unless my buddy comes over and we play some Street Fighter.

I dont really ever use my handhelds. The power went out the other day and I decided to play one of them. I tried the psp but the battery was dead and I dont have any games for the 3DS so I broke out the old DS. Its still a great handheld and Im glad I have one.

My oldest daughter has a 360 and she uses it a lot. She plays a lot of L4D2 and watches a lot of Netflix on it. When BF3 drops I’m sure she’ll be playing that as well. She plays a bit of Black Ops Zombies but not much.

i own all.

i like games. and some games come out only for some systems. so i must have all systems.

edit: i havent touched my wii since the first year i bought it (i bought it the first weekend it was released, had to wait in line for 9 hours). worst system i’ve ever owned, and i have owned every nintendo system, and every sega system, and every sony system, ever.

no wait, the worst was my sega 32x. wii is the second worst. actually, i hated my game gear too, wii is the third worst.

I’m not sure you can have a topic. Like this without console war comments.

In any case I’ve got a PC, PS3, 360, Wii, DSi, and PSP as far as current gen systems are concerned.
My PC, PS3, and handhelds see the most use.

I only own a 360. I had a Wii, but I sold it w/ games for $400. I want to want a PS3, but I don’t.

Playing 360 nowadays, so much that I finally caved & bought Live Gold. Used to be mostly PS3, but that changed for a number of various reasons. Tried the PC route with Steam for several months. It was great, but I found that the games I played the most could also be found on console (sometimes with console-exclusive DLC). I’m a big fan of digital distribution too, so 360 with its Marketplace makes for the best of both worlds.

I decided to view the post through my phone browser so I could actually see the poll and vote.

I’m not sure if the pole is necessarily giving you the info you need. Would a poll like, “how many current Gen gaming devices do you own?”
*1
*2
*3
*4… etc, give u better information?

All but the 3DS. About 95% of my gaming is on PS3, with PC taking the other 5% for random Warcraft 3 sessions. I haven’t touched my 360 for almost two years, though I wanna finish up Gears 2 and play the third.

Just a PS3 and the 360. Everything else sucks. :v

Would a DSi count as next gen?

I personally only have an XBOX 360 w/Kinect. I play pretty much any game you could think of on the xbox. PS3 just doesn’t have that much that would make me want to impulse buy. I would have gotten one for the Blu-Ray but I ended up getting a Blu-Ray player as a gift. That being said I still wouldn’t mind a ps3 for games like Uncharted, Tekken, and LBP. I also do have a few friends that play PS3 only so it would be cool to game with them online. I actually do have a PS3 account with quite a bit of downloaded games but they are all on my brothers PS3 (I do own hard copy PS3 games but it’s mainly fighters for when someones needs me to bring one at a gathering or for when people are looking for help at tournaments)

My brother on the other hand literally has everything and it’s all up to date minus the ps3.
My bro owns an XBOX360, Wii, PS3, a 3DS, and a DS XL. And from what I know for a fact he uses the 360 more then any other console. The wii hardly gets played unless a name brand game comes out and the ps3 is off and on. The PS3 is not collecting dust but it sure as hell doesn’t get used as much as the xbox.

I have a 360 and a Wii. I bought the Wii because it was pretty hype at the time, but now it’s basically just a Netflix appliance that sits in the living room. I actually like the Wii’s Netflix interface better than the 360’s. I have the 360 for obvious reasons, and I didn’t pick PC because I don’t have the hardware to run Left 4 Dead.

360 and Wii
got the Wii when it came out for mi familia
bought a 360 for GOW and it happens to be the best for fighters too.

PS3, PC, Wii, PSP.

One I use the most…PSP.
I listen to music whil on the commute.
I play during downtime at school/work.
And I’ll bite…I haven’t used my Wii in a LOOONG time. Yet I have no regrets buying one.

PS3
Girlfriend has a Wii that I bought her, and my DS.

I have everything except the 3DS, but I do own a DS. It’s a tie between PS3 and Xbox360 for the most use. Some months I use PS3 for a while and vice versa for 360. I own most of the systems because they each offer something I like.

PS3-Most of my single player games go to this system since most of my friends owns 360s. I also use it for blu-ray movies/shows.
Xbox360-I use this system mostly to play multiplayer games with friends.
Wii-I haven’t touch this system in years and I originally bought it for a boxing game and smash brothers. There’s still a few game I want to beat on this console
PSP- I bought this for re-released RPGs I missed when I was younger.
PC- I mostly use this for RTS and MMORPGS.

PC: Laptop with higher end processor and graphics card. This is my most consistent platform for playing games, although most of the games I play don’t require this computers power.
PS3 from Late 2006 (That’s when it came out in San Francisco right?). Play some new/higher end games here. This can vary from most used to not used at all in months.
PSP from whenever the hell I got it. This can vary from most used to not used at all for months.

PS3, Wii, PSP here. The PS3 gets the most play time. I’m usually on there playing FPS and fighting games. PSP comes in second. I recently found myself bored and decided to pass Crisis Core once again. Been on that for a week or so. And lastly comes the Wii. I think the last time I played it was when Monster Hunter Tri came out lol.

Currently building myself a PC so that will be on my list soon. =D

I was going to say I only had my laptop to play any current-ish games, but I keep forgetting I have an 360 Arcade I got as a gift that I haven’t used in 4 years.

I really haven’t had the will to play console games since 2007 or so until recently this year when getting back into fighting games, so I’ve been sticking with the PS1/2- and DC-era games in lieu of a “next”(to me)-gen console. I guess I could get a HDD for the 360 to make it playable, but I’ll first have to play SF4(only once at a Gamestop), MvC3, and a few other games before making a decision. Also, I’m not to hype on the idea of paying for online, but w/e.

Have all 3 current gen and a PSP.

360 gets the most usage time. Then PS3. PSP only gets used a lot when a new game I want to play comes out, otherwise it collects dust. Wii is very occasionally played.
