Good article. I found myself nodding along at many points, especially these two sections:

"You have to understand progressivism as a kind of religionā€”specifically, a fundamentalist religion. Any religion offers an explanation of reality and our place in the world. It tells a story about why pain and evil exist. It holds out an ultimate object of worship capable of overcoming evil. It prescribes a code of ethics centered on that object. And, in the West at least, religion tends to view history as moving towards a great transformation, after which good is triumphant and evil vanquished.

The gods of progressivism are individual autonomy, self-fulfillment, and self-expression. This is a departure from the gods of classical liberalism, which are merely individual freedom, self-government, and civil liberties. Progressives go further; it is not sufficient merely to be free from government oppression. Rather, human beings must be completely freed from their circumstances to be literally whatever they want and express whatever they feel, with no barriers or consequences whatsoever."

And:

"Progressives leverage their power in the media, the universities, and the courts to enforce their code of political correctness on the country. They arrogate to themselves the moral and intellectual high ground, insisting that anyone who disagrees must be backwards, ā€œmedieval,ā€ and uneducated. Trump attracts followers with his angry rejection of the code and his refusal to grant progressives the high ground they so presumptuously claim. The more politically incorrect Trump getsā€”saying things that would compel other politicians to resign in disgraceā€”the stronger his base supports him.

Progressives never exclude anyone, under any circumstances, or ever suggest that anyoneā€™s ideas or worldviews are wrong, except for those who disagree with progressivism. Trump capitalizes on the obvious hypocrisy, giving himself a free pass to exclude and demean whomever he wantsā€”Mexicans, Muslims, immigrants, John McCain, Megyn Kelly, Russia, Islam, China, all politicians, all journalists, and so on. Voters like this not so much because they hate Mexicans and Muslims, but because they hate progressive bigotry and feel like Trump embodies a living rejection of it."

And then at the end of the article, the writer discloses that heā€™s an advisor for Rubioā€™s campaign, which just confirms what Iā€™ve felt all this while- Rubio is the most sensible Republican candidate at the moment- not just because heā€™s a good politician who parses his words and hedges his bets well, but because he has the right instincts on what it would take to actually govern the country in accordance to conservative principles.

I donā€™t think Trump voters really care what the UK has to say about him. This is the kind of thing that will make Trump haters feel really good about themselves, while Trump supporters will take it as affirmation that Trump is his own manā€¦ Which is why they love him in the first place.

^Progressiveness is just the new form of nihilism. Itā€™s quite startling that people are on board such a destructive ideology.
But most people are conformist that agree with w/e the social trends are whether it be hard right or left.

IMHO, Trump is still the better candidate. There isnt a politician that would say the things heā€™d say so bluntly that its actually refreshing.
I also never understood why fascist traits or fascist light ideologies always get the shaft. There are people that would accept Communism believes as the best thing ever or to a lesser degree socialism. Itā€™s as if the concept of authority must be evil.
There isnt anything wrong with following so long as the leader is worthy of your respect. Whether that be monarchies to primitive tribal chiefs.

Whens the bot that blocks all the people that follow Trump?
You know, to confirm the leftist hug box. Funny how when GG was a thing people would laugh and post pages of shit over this. Yet on actual politics itā€™s silent.

^^Good article. Iā€™m definitely more moderate and itā€™s frightening to see how crazy some of the progressives get that they almost circle back around to being utterly conservative.

I think Rubio will wind up being the candidate (I hope he will, he seems like the only sensible one running on the Republican side.)

That said, Trump doesnā€™t stand a chance and this article is why: http://fivethirtyeight.com/datalab/donald-trump-is-the-nickelback-of-gop-candidates/ The guy who wrote it, Nate Silver is a brilliant statistician who hasnā€™t been proven wrong yet on a variety of his predictions and I think heā€™s definitely right about this one.

Michael Savage is banned from entering the UK

Isnā€™t there already a thread for thisā€¦

This one actually dates to July, 2015. The other one dates to yesterday.

Which means that this one is more accurateā€¦
