I just love how much practice Reno has gotten, and by reno I mean Me, Koogy, Danny, and Chris R…wow really Reno a week before and you still bail on practice awesome.
hey man, reno is top tier
also i hacked all versions of SF4 so that rufus has a 360 grab and a lariat in addition to his normal attacks.
and ex messiah piledriver is godlike
It doesn’t matter how you hack it, your Rufus just gets sick off my fast food Gief! He’s gotten too used to good food!
Every single person in Reno needs to show up and support Martin! He has spent so much time working on this, please help him out today! This is a huge opportunity for Reno!
Yo koogy me & my bros are gonna show up. just what time should we show up?
I think it starts at 10 or 11am at the Atlantis.
Yo, my name is Bob and I met some of the Reno crew (I was completely unaware Reno HAD a crew) at the tourney last Saturday. Got my ass kicked, but met a lot of really cool players. I have a pretty sweet set up at my house, big screend HD, both systems, joysticks all around. Hit me up for SFIV practice.
I enjoyed the tournament on Saturday. Couple of things that stood out…
Vangief was an incredible player especially using a PS2 pad. That was great.
Koogy you left before I was going to buy a shirt I will just have to order one online now.
Norcal in general are just too good.
And Ricky is a beast.
It was good seeing the Reno crew again and meeting some of the Norcal players. Hopefully next time it will be Reno that will come out on top! Right? Right?..Guys?
This tournament was really eye opening for me. With the exception of Nelson, and maybe Jose, the “top players” in Reno SUCK.
We really need a more dedicated scene, and we need to critique each others games, not just tell each other things we already know and PRETEND we know everything about the game.
That being said… the tournament was fun times, and thank you CBK for throwing it!
Well I have to say a few things, it’s true Reno’s game was weak, and it will continue to be weak so long as the dedication is missing. Reno needs to step it up, I will continue to try and grow the scene I will. But for me to grow I need the players willing to step it up, otherwise Reno will always be a joke!
Foxxy man you are awesome, the tournament would have never happened without your help, and I want to say that you are an amazing player. I want to thank Scamp for the help he provided and I really appreciate everything you both did to help.
Who are the top players in Reno that you speak of, Danny?
I only honestly consider Nelson a top player anymore. The rest of us have some catching up to do. I only consider myself a top player in GG. >:c
In my eyes the top players are, in no particular order: Martin, Me, Jose, Cameron, Mario. (Excluding Nelson of course. And Koogy you’d be on that list too but you just started playing again. Also Cameron would probably be up there with Nelson but he doesn’t have the time to play much anymore.)
This isn’t meant to hurt anyones feelings or bring anyone down because I’m saying it about myself too, but dang we suck.
And I really can’t see us getting better, sadly. Because we’re the one’s that people learn from, and we’re the ones that give other people challenges. Where are WE going to learn from?! Because clearly, we can’t learn from ourselves.
Well, you get better by being pushed. You lose, and you have to practice and get better. It’s best to have people on a similar level.
Hey, now I have that guy Chris’ number, hopefully it’ll be easier to get around to Martin’s house when people gather to practice. I’m up for getting better.
But I would have thought to really get a lot better, then yeah more people are needed who specialize in specific characters. Simply beating each other all the time would be fine, only there aren’t THAT many people.
I just got a new xbox…I can start playing, shaking the rust off before Super comes out. Somebody snag my number so I can know when you all meet up.
Props to Jose in the tournament… you and your Fei get things done.
Alright. So, I want to start holding RENO FIGHT NIGHTS. These are nights that will absolutely happen unless I post otherwise. They will be consistently on the same day and time, so you can tell your friends and you can come over and practice.
RENO FIGHT NIGHT RULES:
-
Set-up begins at 6:50pm. If you have a system / TV, please come 10 minutes early so we can set up before 7pm.
-
Clean up begins at 10:55pm. I’ll call last games, you guys pack up and clean up the house to the level it was before you came.
-
You must bring your A game, and actually attempt to improve. Do not waste my time by goofing around. That can happen on an extra TV if we have enough people / set-ups.
-
You must respect my house, and if I ask you to behave / be quiet / to leave, you will respect my wish.
-
I ask that you do not bring drugs or alcohol into my house. Smoking is allowed outside the house.
-
You critique players after each game, or attempt to help them improve. Be talkative and help each other. WE ARE A COMMUNITY.
-
You bring a stick, a system, a TV, or pitch in for food.
I will be able to have approximately 20 players in the house at one time. My goal is to set up at least two systems for serious gaming, and one for practicing combos / an additional game, such as BlazBlue. If enough people show up, I will get catering / food delivered, and we can share the bill.

Not this Wednesday, as I need to set my house up. But starting 3/31, I will begin these! Be sure to prepare yourself, and your friends for it. Let everyone know, and post up if you will be there. REMEMBER MY RULES.
I have the following at my house.
TVs
- 32" LCD
- 27" CRT
Systems
- XBox 360
- PS3
Sticks
- 2 PS3 MadCatz SSF4 TE’s
- 1 360 MadCats SE w/ sanwa mods.
- 1 PS2 HRAP 2
Games:
- X360: BlazBlue: CT
- X360: Street Fighter 4
So, as you can see, I definitely need you guys to bring some equipment when you do come over.
I’m down anytime really after 6pm and I’m free Sun and Mon, I have time to dedicate to getting better. I’m so glad finally someone is getting it, to get better takes practice and communication!
Yeah!
The Winnemucca boys want to get above scrub level! haha. This sounds like a great idea though :wgrin:
I’d be down! I have 4 joysticks and 2 fightpads to contribute, as well as two systems. My TV is kind of big and hard to move, but I’d be open to it if someone with the know how and resources wanted to help. I like weekends for this kind of thing.
I’d like to get into the scene here, and would love to help ou want to meet some of our local comp and see what we can learn from each other, I’ve just needed a little more than three hours of notice before practice goes down. I have a stick and system I can bring, but no extra tv’s. Tuesdays and Wednesdays are free, and weekend afternoon/nights. The rest of my time is always up in the air between days/nights.
