The problem is, even if Nelson babysat you guys for 6 months, you wouldn’t improve, because you have no drive to get better on your own. You don’t even understand why he beats the shit out off you in the first place.

I’m not even sure if you even know the scene in Reno anymore Koogy. You don’t play with us hardly at all, you quit sfIV because you couldn’t get better. Look I’m not trying to say your completely wrong about it, but I know for a fact I spent hours along with danny and Truffle, trying and practicing combo’s to improve our play and mind games. I’ve gone to tournaments and played good players and done better than decent against them. I’m not trying to say we can’t improve but at some point if there are better players like nelson around then I want to play him.
I never meant to offend nelson but it seems the only way to get him to respond because unless he see’s a reason to play you like money or honor he won’t give you a second of his time. Thats not helping the scene at all koogy…now is it?
Josh, stick to matters in Hawaii. If you ever come back to Reno I will gladly take your money in a your main versus my main money match. I haven’t touched this game in months due to school, not having a 360, and having no one to play with but if you think for a second you are qualifyed to talk shit to Reno then you better stop losing to scrubs like me. And fuck you btw, if I gave a shit about this game I would be giving Nelson a run for his money because I would be leveling up every day. I have been a top player in other games with no one to play me yet I still had the drive and ability to be one of the best in the nation…what have you done? I am sorry your glory days of OG SFII with Nelson are gone but the only person qualifyed to back Nelson up is Nelson so stop riding his nuts and go learn how to play a game.
This Scene has died for several reasons:
- From my understanding Nelson is no longer willing to try and make people better which in turn generally makes Nelson himself lvl up at least it made me level up when I did it with other games. I can understand if Nelson has no time I know I don’t.
- Rob lost the drive to play and help people. With Rob absent there is no scene because Rob has been the only driving force here EVER. No one can step up and get into his shoes because no one is as good as a teacher as Rob.
- The only other person who was willing to teach quit, me. Not only am I a horrible teacher but I was never that good at this game in the first place.
- We all lost a lot of respect for Nelson when he decided to not come to California to support Reno when the tournament directors bent over backwords so that he could come. Honestly that was some of the most disrespectful shit I have ever seen and his lack of communication made it worse.
WOW this thread got all bad quick.
On a side note Ill do money matches in NBA 2K10 or Madden 10

And who am I to care and whatnot , but the reason for the failing of a good scene in Reno is the best werent willing to help the below average noobs and forced them to take other roads to learn. And it seems the city will not get better till SSF4 comes out when there will be 3 or so tourneys and some hype and then it will fizzle away yet again.

Yeah, I’ve pretty much been outside of the Reno scene other than playing Jose twice in the span of 4 months. I’ll try to hop back in if/when I can join a CBK meet up. I’m pretty scrub status now, but hey, I can get better.

- Since that tourney, I have learned jab into electricity with 100% effectiveness, which I couldnt do then. Changes the blanka honda matchup slightly, helping blanka a bit.
- If I ever lose with blanka, I just tank it all and crush you with dhalsim. O wait, yer afraid of dhalsim bc i can only use one character. Thats like saying, “sorry pal, I know you know many characters, but really, I’m only good enough to beat the one character you play where I have the best match, so please, play to ensure that I win.”

Cameron thinks his honda has a chance against Nelson, even if hegave a shit about the game?
For everyone on the forums to realize what a dip retardo cameron is, I told nelson a trick on how to get jab into hundred hand slap almost every time, every time with practice. Nelson told cameron this trick, because nelson thought cameron had skill, and with this tool, cameron would be better. This trick would allow cameron to do low jab, hands, low jab hands combos, that does 1/4 damage to most characters. Cameron’s response was to say no, its impossible, and basiacally not bother to level up his honda game. THIS WAS BEFORE EVO WHEN CAMERON TOOK THE GAME SERIOUSLY. In other words, the fuk is a quitter, at least he’s a SF quitter, and who gives a shit about other games, except tekken. -

Cameron talks this and that about teacher this and that, and I mean, he makes it sound like being a teacher in SF is some hard level trial or something. Nelson taught me how to play SF, but not once did he ever TELL ME HOW TO PLAY SF! We simply played, a lot, over the years. I learned from his play style, from what he did in game, I recognized what he did, applied it to my own style, created a hybrid, and then developed from there. Smart man learns from experience, and smart man no need someone to tell him the truth when he can figure it out himself. But my guess is that your definition of teaching - SPOONFEEDING, bc most of Reno is too stupid to figure it out themselves, and need to beg those with greater knowledge to let them in on the deal. I am NOT saying that top level competition should shut up and never tell the rest certain tips and tricks, but I AM saying that the bottom feeders need to take some responsibility for themselves and fukin apply their minds to the game and learn themselves.

I back up nelson because I respect him. Nelson is someone who generally, though he does have faults, supports people he knows deserves his support. Retards with no spine or no will, well, nelson dont waste no time. I also just happen to be bored, and when I see retards in reno talkin shit about nelson, callin him gay this and gay that, Nelson of all people, well, I realize this is an opportunity to talk some smack and get some enjoyment lookin at the ants cry. While I do not know for sure why Nelson dropped out on all yer sacramento tourney shinanigans, I have a hunch that yall thought that with Nelson, you had no chance of losing the team tournemnt, and pretty much wanted to ride his balls to free pot money. When nelson smells that kind of shit, he pretty much drops out, cuz nelson never carries anyone else’s weight but his own, or those he actually respects, which includes pretty much nobody in reno.

So what have I done? Well, I never claimed to be a world class gamer, or nothin special. But in cvs1 days, I beat jon choi in a tournament, but that is meaningless in this scenario. As far as SF4 is concerned, the only thing for this conversation that means anything is that I stuffed Cameron’s foot in his ass, took his money, pissed all over Reno’s ‘scene’, and mobbed out on a fukin train of nobody gives a fuk. Because thats reno, where street fighter legends go to die, at least until they get the fuk out.
Finally, props to CBK for at least trying to level up, and bring folks into it all. Nobody should lean or depend on perceived ‘other’ better players in order to level themselves up. Players with potential say fuk it, create their own scene, and build from that. I don’t give a shit what your attitude is, who you are, or what the fuck yer problem is, if yer down to play, and play seriously, then fukin more power to you. Everyone else is trash that needs to be taken out to the dumpster divers.

Alright Josh, lets brake this down. I am not going to resort to personal attacks like you did, because unlike you I know how to properly argue my opinion and points without dropping to that level.
- Nelson withheld that trick until after evolution. I then quit after evo but in case you cared I CAN do 100 hand slap with near 90% accuracy using a pool glove. So before you care to talk shit learn your facts. If Nelson thought I had skill he would be wrong…at least not natural skill. I have to work hard to get better and my reaction times are slower than slow but over time I grow my skills, but I have a horrible time applying it to 2d fighters. In fact this is the first 2d fighter I have even been more than garbage tier at.
- I have no problem with Nelson’s trash talking style at all so don’t make that mistake. And actually I recognize that Nelson was holding all kinds of practice at his place for awhile and mad props for that. I would argue though that if Nelson wants to get better that it IS his responsibility to teach people. It only leads to him leveling up his game too and I developed my skills in both street as well as other games by TEACHING people.
- I don’t know about you Josh but I didn’t start out as a top lvl player and not everyone has an eye to be able to apply what they see others doing. If you have this skill thats great but having someone teach you how to apply what you see and explain what you see is a huge help to new people. Thats not spoon feeding them, its teaching them how to use the spoon so they can feed themselves.
- Regardless of why he dropped out he should have never made the comitment in the first place if he had no intention of going. Seriously the tournament directors moved the tourny time, cost of entry, etc all for him. To not show up is disrespectful to them… fuck being disrespectful to us because honestly I got over that aspect almost instantly. He made US look bad by not showing up. Spending the first ten minutes explaining how sorry we were was not how I wanted to start that. As far as him carrying us I took out Eric Choi, danny wrecked people with his ALT, and martin performed well. I choked against everyone but eric, truffle choked period, and Martin almost carried us. Had I touched the game since Evo we would have done much better but we had a decent showing. I got raped and I mean absolutely raped by their sagat because I wasn’t used to someone who can kara uppercut. Thats my bad for never making Nelson lvl up though. As far as respect goes if Nelson doesn’t want to respect me then so be it. But his lack of respect surprises me considering despite me being broke I have NEVER backed down from Nelsons money matches even when if I lost it put me in a very poor financial situation, I tried to develop my game and further his (which I couldn’t do because I never caught up), and I have proven myself in other games. I respect Nelson as a gamer and he had my respect as a person until he pulled the Sac stunt. Had he appologized or at the very least explained himself my respect would still be there. I get it though, he doesn’t care nor does he need my respect so why should he make an effort.
Okay, now lets talk about our matches Josh.
You barely beat me in the tourny, but you clutched out and I didn’t. You beat me in the money match, again with some close games. Blanka honda is a 5-5 and thats a bad match up how? Dhali honda is a 6-4 in Dhalis favor. Not once did i complain or try and take away the legitimacy of your win. I lost against your dhali (and only your dhali) because of my lack of experience against the character. After this I lvled up by playing Arturo and Champ down in cali so that it wouldnt happen when I was in vegas. The result was me desimating some dhali in my pool and I am glad you showed me that weakness in my game. Truthfully your dhali is sub par, but so is my honda.
If your not confident that you can beat me with your blanka when I have not played the game AT ALL then thats just sad. I have no time for the game because I am getting my life on track by finishing school, getting a stable career and starting my life. I am proud of the choices I make and am more than willing to sacrifice my ability to play a video game that is nothing more than a hobby to me.
For the record Josh, I think your a hella cool cat. Id chill with you any day of the week and gladly would if you came into town again. I appologize for my original message being more hostile than intended, but if someone wants to talk shit about a scene that they aren’t apart of they better be ready for some spitfire.
