Setting a few things straight! (from another post.)
Ok. . . First of all. . . Atlantis ISNT the first casino to host a tourney for the Locals. . . if u didnt read earlier I stated that I ran tournament at both Hilton (before all their staff was let go) and Circus Circus (under the management of Jeri) and it was a huge success. . .
Tournaments helps both ways. . . for the gamers it gives them a place to compete. . . and for the MAJOR corporation its a good way to advertise by word of mouth. . . since its the gamers like myself that gives money to your corporation and makes u guys look good when the arcade is making money. . . its serves both end. . . thats what drove Hilton and Circus to hold tourneys.
Second. . . I know things can go wrong at any time. . . but this isnt the first time that weve talked to Management about this problem. . . Management has done nothing to fix it. . . and JC who knew about the problem did nothing to fix it before the tournament. . .
It wasnt a big deal before when the tourney was free. . . but this tourney cost the gamers money to enter and Atlantis took money from the pot. . . So I expect everything to go perfectly smooth.
Going into the machine and wiggling some wires isnt going to solve the problem. . . this tournament was set up over a month prior. . . things could have been done to prevent THIS PROBLEM from happening. To me thats not did the best they could!
And for you to call me a liar? WTF. . . It wasnt as if. . . I dont know how to play and the problem wasnt OBVIOUS. . . both myself and Chris (my opponent) stopped the match. . . Do you know who I am. . . HONESTLY. . . I am one of the best players in RENO and in the US. . . Ive ran and directed several major tourneys which had over 100+ players from around the world attending. . . I not some little kid thats never touch the game before. . . so before you go ahead and question who I AM. . . ask around maybe youd realize who I am. . .
The difference between ME winning and ME losing was MONEY. . . because it took over 7x for the game to function correctly. . . I LOST. . . does that mean I could have beaten Chris the first time. . . I DONT KNOW. . . but after 7x. . . thats a bit too much. . . So yea I have a legitimate complaint about it. . . its like telling a short distance runner to start then stop 7x and expect the person to perform at his best. . .
My only beef w/ JC was that he was the organizer. . . and really didnt know how to run a tourney very efficiently. . .
Furthermore. . . before you personally will see to it that Im not apart of ANY events that happen there. . . proves to me even more that the management (if you are part of the management) does not care in making the events run perfectly. . . that a half ass job would be fine. . . as long as the gamers show up. . . Atlantis needs criticisms like myself and any other gamers to foresee any problems that could arise and make the even truly special. I am thankful that Atlantis is working hard to keep our business, like others, and myself but as a professional business I expect things to be done professionally and any criticisms to be handled professionally, not some high school freshman threatening me because I happen to complaint.
Finally
As far as the Atlantis taking money. Yes they did take $1 out of EVERY entry fee and made you buy tokens with it! the only way that Atlantis would benefit from that would be if you NEVER spent another dollar in there but I? Sure that all of you and myself are going to buy at least 1 more dollar in token so Shut up about that!
hmm. . . you just contradicted your own statement there. . . Atlantis took $1 to make sure that we spend money at the Atlantis. . . YET you state that you know weve all spent more that $1 before at the Atlantis. . … besides Atlantis does make money already from the tourney. . . first by the pay to play in the tourney. . . second because the tourney is held at the Atlantis gamers are more drawn to go there to play week prior to the tourney. . . and they make money prior to the tourney and after the tourney as gamers play to warm up and to have fun afterwards. . .
So dont tell me that Atlantis is keeping a dollar to make sure we spend money there. . . thats almost an insult to the gamers thinking that somehow we dont go there unless its a tourney and happen to magically play for free all night long. So in your own words Shut up about that!
I do hope that management does take note that people will complain if things arent done properly. . . and I hope they also take note that some childish threat isnt going to stop someone like myself from speaking his mind and telling YOU how I feel. . . and how they should have improved. . . heck if management wants my EXPERT advice since Ive been in the scene for 15 years and have been running tournaments for bout 10 years. . . maybe they should call me JC has my number and can give it to them. . . I am more than willing to help them out. . .
