6:30 to 7:30 sounds phresh. I expect a lot of the OG players to be able to make it on time this way, so it was probably needed.
Overall, good show!

Yeah, 6:30 to 7pm sounds cool. Do we need to bring our own stick/controller?
Yes. It’s a console tournament. If you forget yours, however, I’m sure others will lend you theirs. It just gives you a huge advantage if you play on familiar sticks/controllers than using someone else’s stick.
And some sticks ahem I wouldn’t touch with a ten foot pole.
Vihn uses a pad. :o
But yes, it’s BYOC.
OKAY PROBLEM NUMBER ONE AND SHIT.
September 5th my brother will be here, and will be occupying the tournament room. We have two choices…
We can run it in my room (I can make as much room as possible)
or we can cancel the first tournament. ;__;
Maybe Robin could donate his place for the first tournament? T__T
…Who are you?
Also. MICROWAVED NEKOS.
I just moved out into the Highlands. I think my roommates won’t mind if there was a tourney in the middle of Labor Day. You just have to bring alcohol, food, the games, stick/pad, and yeah, whatever. I have a PS2 and Xbox and TV in living room.
Edit: I kid!
I’m Drinky Milk. What?
yeah, I need rides.
Any thoughts on the Fresno tourney suggestion?
I’ll be able to help on the ride part, maybe. And I’m good for a Fresno tournament, but I’m all scrubby and whatnot.
I’m confused. There’s a Fresno in Reno?
Nah, just wanted to say, if people wanna decide which game they wanna play, they have to consider a lot of things. That’s all I wanted to say. I’m not trying to tell tantin to “Hey if you play this game, you have to do this”. Thing is, if everyoen is going to play CvS2 or ST, it becomes a brand new game. Over all, knowledge will be the key to make games interesting. Not just playing it. That is all (I think i should’ve just said this instead of that spill i just said before hand :-p.)
JP
BOO!!! Unless they’re running JPN style hehe.
JP
you’re a fucking noob. go drink some milk and go nyah bitch
Seems kind of silly that Tantin would want to go all the way to Fresno, CA. What a silly noob.
JP, that’s how A-cho does its tournaments. Pools to qualify into brackets. So, in a way, it’s kind of like Evo but only one game and only one bracket.
Thing is, if they have like 32 people then it sounds viable, but if you only have like 10-11 people then it just pretty much drags it. But hey, whatever they want i guess ^ ^.
JP
I think A-cho tournaments are usually pretty big. More than just 32 people enter. They aren’t the most popular arcade for #R for nothing, you know. ^_~
Anyways, I think it’d be fun so people can play more.

RISE FROM YOUR GRAVE
Okay guys, IT’S OFFICAL. WE CAN HAVE THE LABOR DAY TOURNAMENT AT MY HOUSE ON SEPTEMBER 5TH, LABOR DAY. NOBODY HAS SCHOOL AND A COUPLE PEOPLE HAVE OFF WORK, SO LET’S HAVE A FUCKING BLAST!
IF YOU ARE GOING TO ATTEND, PLEASE LEAVE A NUMBER FOR ME TO CALL YOU AT. HERE’S THE PLAN:
I will have ONE TV set up for the tournament, ONE TV for casual. It’s whatever game you want on casual + the tournament game at that time. I will RECORD ALL TOURNAMENT MATCHES AND PUT THE HIGHLIGHTS ON THE RENO SITE.
I’m going to try to crank out the graphics for the new site tonight/tommorow so we can really get the crew back together. I know everyone’s burned out, but let’s try to keep it fun and exciting for everyone by having some fun games that we’re not very good at. :3
IF YOU HAVE ANY QUESTIONS PLEASE CALL MY CELLPHONE / POST HERE / PM ME. 775-771-6000 is my cellphone!
I have half my shit moved into the new place. I am a happy Tantin.
Actually, they’re prolly known in the net for it, but i dunno about being the “most” popular.
As for it being fun…it’s fun when you have 20-40 people that’s able to do it. Having only 10-11, having a Round Robin pool drags it. Not just drags it, it pro-longs it (even on single elim). But hey, whatever is clever for people.
I would say, stay with the typical 16man bracket, even if it’s single elim. So that people will see that if they keep lossing every week, they have to get better. I thought the whole deal of tournaments is to see and gauge where you’re at againts everyone else. Different setting, diifferent mind set. If you try to accomidate everyone just so that everyone gets to play longer, then you’re defeating the purpose. In a round Robin, you can have ties, which can drag a tourney even longer. Again, if you get 20-40 people to join, then yes, go with the prelim bracket. But til then, stick with the 16man.

P.S. {Congratulations!} tantizzle. Welcome to Reno!!.
