Ok ok ok I’ll concede here. I was just going by what I’ve learned were “traditional” ST throw loops (Ken/Balrog/ST Hawk/ST Honda). Honestly I don’t think I’ve ever seen someone do the “after HP throw trickery” with Honda before HDR. I need to put some of that in my repertoire now
Honda’s normal throws are SCARY in both ST and HDR. Of all the characters in the game, he’s the one you really have to be on the ball with if he throws you IMO. He literally has so many options to keep the pressure on in terms of safe jumps, crossups, re-ticks, walk under sweeps, specials, depending on what throw he does and so much random shit happens depending on which character his opponent is that you really have to react so quickly to what comes next when you find yourself being grabbed by him. If i’m in a bear hug or knee bash or whatever from him, i will actually stop my escape mashing early, take the little bit of extra damage, and forego the chance of an early escape just so that i’m free to react properly when i see him let go of me and figure out what he’s doing.
The ochio being nerfed a little bit has taken something away from his throw shenanigans in HDR over ST, he bounces backwards, and he’s not instantly on top of you again as soon as it’s done, but along with dictator, boxer, and a few others you definitely have to know what your options are after a good honda throws you, otherwise the pain probably ain’t over yet…
Honda’s got a new combo.
Jump in :hp:, cl.:lp:, cr.:lk: XX Super. 6 Hits - 90%.
Works on the Guile like cast. The ones who’s hit boxes don’t really move when they are being hit, and the ones where the same combo into HHS works on. You have to buffer the super just like with Bison & Balrog after the :lp:, then while holding :df: press :lk: then :r: :3p: (any punch if you’re l337, piano if you’re everyone else.)
why wasnt this discovered sooner?
Probably because his super sucked in the old one so you would eat a flash kick if you tried it.
Yup. Plus the ST version combo’ed unreliably.
What? You mean this isn’t in my FAQ?!
(Onaje consults his copy…)
Oh…ok…my bad…I have Crossup :hk:, cr.:lk:(x2) XX Oni Muso SC.
Guess I’ll be adding that to the FAQ then. Thanks!
Nice work megaman. You seem to be coming up with a huge chunk of any of the new discoveries that are being posted for remixed honda. Well done, way to contribute!!
It’s great to see new things still being discovered as a consequense of the remixing. All the little tweaks have had tons of subtle effects to the gameplay, but it’s nice when a cool new possibility like your combo turns up and changes a character’s options a bit. This just made honda’s offence even scarier. Like he needed that:xeye:
90% damage eh?..OK, even more than before, i DEFINITELY won’t be giving honda any chances to jump in on me…:wow:
Does it dizzy?
I’ve ran into like one honda on PSN that uses st/cr.lp TT. I thought it was a crouching attack.
Still though, that’s one honda too many.
Hey OJ(not entirely OT since it relates to honda)
More entertainment for You!And this time I will simply say,What You are seeing in this is me playing it easy breezy for the sake of giving my opponent a chance to try out different strategies on me.And once again,if You think that means I cant/dont know how to properly deal with them,You are mistaken, end. But do feel free to laugh at it,as I cant stop cracking up while I do.lmao!
p.s. yes i am a simpson.

this.
Entirely OT. Want to have a discussion with OJ, cool. But do it in PMs and not in the Honda thread.
You should throw Ryu when you get close to him.
Thanks man! Training mode FTW!
No, this would be something you would use after you have them dizzy, or when you’re crossing them up as OJ notes in his FAQ.
Remember guys this is fucking PSN we are talking about.
I like the new avatar. :woot:
Eh? That’s a tad overkill
Unlike ST, Honda rarely gets dizzies in HDR :(. That would make a nice combo to use with a cross-up after a bear-hug in the corner. It’s a good find EA, I’ve found comboing the Super off the short a lot easier than after a st.jab for some reason.
Agreed on the short, it’s much more reliable. I still get quite a few dizzies in HDR. But it really depends on the match up. Also, usually if I do get a dizzy, by that point I have the meter. You could also use this if you think you’ve predicted a fireball, and are at the right spacing, but that’s pretty risky.
Yes, it’s totally overkill. That’s why it’s awesome. :nunchuck:
:woot:
I really should save a little and get an xbox. There are too many important things in life right now!:crybaby:
Just sell your P0S3 already – a much greater percentage of really good players are on 360.
