Can Vergil work as a meter-building point character? He has sorta been established as a meter whore, but I’m thinking that he can work as a battery by not using the long spiral swords combos, not relying too much on Devil Trigger and by focusing more on resets. Could this work in practice?

I feel like Captain America and Vergil have great synergy. Doing a DHC after hyper charging star into ouroborous leads to a 50-50 since HCS leads to a heavy knockdown, and vergil’s rapid slash can allow cap to do ambiguous stuff in the corner (resets, grabs, or just into launcher). My anchor is Hawkeye, but thats just because xfactor lvl3 and gimlet is quite possibly one of the scariest things in the game imo.

I’m beginning to think this is possible. He is capable of doing 500k by himself without using meter, slightly more with the right assists. The only thing is that you’ll probably need a very good projectile or beam assist to back him up. He can be Wesker-esque if you like, but can also make really good use of meter. He’s a very versatile character, IMO.

i use the horizontal arrows to help cap’s cartwheel mixups.

I want to run Vergil, Nova, and Dorm. Past that I have no idea on order or what not. Just to throw this out there…uh…

Nova (Gravimetric Pulse)/Vergil (Rapid Slash)/Dorm (Dark Hole). Although I want an OTG assist to help me extend Vergil and Nova combos, so maybe Purification for Dorm? Does Purification to Lunar Phase work?

Right now I cant decide between Wesker/ Vergil/ Iron Man or Ghost Rider/ Vergil/ Doom. Wesker gets some combo extension off of Judgement Cut but Rapid Slash seems like a perfect fit for a Zoner like Ghost Rider.

I run Vergil/Tron/Spencer I got Tron’s Assist as the Bandit Boulder and Spencer’s as the slant shot Vergil assist is the rapid slash for helping to get Tron in…so far i like the way my comp is…i just have to work around the tron nerfs…

So I just started using Vergil(y)/Hawkeye(a)/Strider(y) and have to say I love it. I really feel like hawkeye works very well with vergil, helping him stay safe and giving him mix up options. Not to mention awesome DHC synergy with swords/devil trigger to gimlet shot.

I’m currently running Vergil (Judgement Cut)/Wesker (Samurai Edge)/Doctor Strange (Bolts of Balthakk).

Bolts of Balthakk is fantastic for locking your opponent in place for teleport mixups with Vergil/Wesker. Also good for extending combos.

My general strategy for now is to wreck shit with Vergil and utilize teleport mixups with Vergil/Strange to build a couple of meters, then combo into a DHC to Wesker to get Wesker’s G-Factor*. From that point on, I usually don’t need to use much meter, as all my Wesker combos lead to easy resets and do around 600-700k. I’ll generally save the meter for if/when Wesker dies, since Vergil and Stephen are meter hogs. I usually won’t burn X-Factor unless I’m going to finish off the opponent. I save it for Stephen, along with some meter. I honestly think XF3 Stephen with meter is the best anchor in the game. If your opponent presses anything, they lose 600k. Not to mention dagger spam.

Overall, I’m pretty happy with this team. Strange is working out a lot better for me than Nova was.

Strider and Vergil are both meter hounds. You’re also gonna need the execution for them as Strider bleeds hard and Vergil needs to go in when you get the opening you need for your 4 meter xfactor gamble.

I’m assuming you’re going Peekaboo, Vajra (a nasty assist for a teleporting Vergil), and rapid slash for assist.

Trish is great as a lead. I figure play keep away, set traps, keep them pinned with Vajra. Build meter.

I think Vergil is best at number two if Trish starts. Vergil’s Devil Trigger/spiral swords are good dhcs. He can also raw tag off of Trish’s round harvest hyper. Vergil should do well off aerial exchanges with Trish too with ground bounce to relaunch/resets with peekaboo.

I’m set on having Vergil as my Anchor for the gamble, though. I was trying to use Strider as a Battery/Assist character, but after looking through his threads it doesn’t look very viable, sadly. Any characters that fill that spot better, who aren’t Dante? It’s sad, Vajra is really good for Trish and Vergil, but Strider just doesn’t seem to fit my team since he’s so Ouroborous oriented

FYI, Vergil’s B assist (Rising Sun) has no invincibility, so if you’re including it on the team for anything other than combo extension, it’s a waste. You’re better off with Y(Rapid Slash) or A(Judgment Cut).

I use B assist at the end of Wesker’s standard combo, gunshot to the floor, assist, super jump up and H into maximum wesker

That’s true, but it still does its job of locking your opponent in place.
