Yeah I’ve been basically running the same team online so far and it’s been pretty good. The order I run is Vergil first then Wesker and Dorm as anchor though. Samurai edge give’s Vergil a free round trip into two lunar phases + super at the end (which one is up to you) after an extended combo which should bring most characters down to 10%. After the first character is dead, just Devil Trigger (if you have the bar) then raw tag Wesker in and now you have Wesker with (as DevilJin put it) Berserker Slash+Akuma Tatsu in one. From there just play it out. Worst comes to worst, Dorm cleans up with xfactored balls + trijumps!
if you didn’t already think of it, you could hard tag in Vergil, teleport, helmet breaker, activate swords, otg, teleport back down & continue from there.
my experimental vergil anchor team
Yeah that idea did come up but it requires me to start the combo with 2 meters. I’m trying to figure out a kill (or at 900k so I could reset for the kill) combo starting from only the 1 meter you get at the beginning.
The Nova idea didn’t work out that well since almost everything he has is affected by hitstun scaling. I think I’ll try having Wesker in the back and then when Vergil tags in after Round Harvest, teleport, helm breaker, P2 assist, then go into a round trip combo which HOPEFULLY will work.
hey i was wondering who would go well with Vergil and Iron Man
I never played any of the Marvel games or any team fighters for that matter so I’m kind of new at this. I didn’t play MvC3 for long but I want to get into Ultimate and learn. So far I’ve been running Vergil/Strider(y)/Hawkeye(b). I don’t know what assist I should use for Vergil, or if this team will work out effectively. Any suggestions? I’d appreciate it
I feel like Captain America and Vergil have great synergy. Doing a DHC after hyper charging star into ouroborous leads to a 50-50 since HCS leads to a heavy knockdown, and vergil’s rapid slash can allow cap to do ambiguous stuff in the corner (resets, grabs, or just into launcher). My anchor is Hawkeye, but thats just because xfactor lvl3 and gimlet is quite possibly one of the scariest things in the game imo.
Alright I’m still learning Vergil and his combo timing and stuff.
I originally wanted to make a Team Trench (Wesker, Dante, Vergil), but now I’m running X-23(ankle slice), Vergil (rapid slash), and Doom (beam). i actually think that this team has pretty good DHC synergy. rage trigger-> dimension slash->sphere flame is delicious. I play Vergil similar to X-23 pairing his teleport with Doom’s beam for cross-up gimmicks. the downside is that X-23 kinda eats meter compared to other battery characters. TAC’s work pretty well also and can kinda make up for X-23 and Vergil’s meter dependency for damage.
Sooooo this didn’t work out either. I couldn’t find anything after round trip that would actually give me a combo long enough to build one meter for the kill. Anyone have any ideas of what might help? I’d like to still keep Wesker or at least go back to Nova since I like having the option of unblocks with the low/high assist.
Vergil calls Chris gunfire. Teleports behind them.
Myself I’ve been using vergil(rapid slash), trish(low voltage), dante(crystals). vergil is pretty good on point and with that otg assist from dante you can extend combos pretty creatively with vergil. The reason for low voltage over peekaboo or hopscotch is when they block your attack you could call that assist and trickM behind them causing a left/right mixup. Plus all their hypers seem to work well together. Dimension slash into round harvest>tag in dante>otg shenanigans can make an easy 800K+. I’ve never really liked dante on anchor but i think for the sake of that team he is better there dont ya think?
So it seems like for Vergil, his r assist, “rapid Slash” is overall his best assist? And that’s good for cross-up potential right? (not a combo assist) So I can’t do say, “point char juggle, land, Vergil r assist, char’s OTG, Vergil r assist hits”, to extend his combo can I? (For combos, it seems to be his a assist, Judgment Cut)
there are better assists for cross up purposes - gunfire is too slow and priority isnt great
^ I agree.
My team right now is Wesker, Vergil, Taskmaster.
I usually peck at them a bit with taskmaster assist and gunshots with wesker and teleport around till I get a hit confirm. at the end of the wesker combo I aerial assist into vergil. I’ll have about 2 bars or more by now… so I can generally do the dimension slash, high tide, dimension slash again. Wesker does wonders for vergil combos… and taskmaster just helps me get in since i can use his assist and do cross up teleports with both vergil and wesker, the speeds just about right. with vergil it usually hits them right as i get behind them so even if they counter hit me, ill recover faster than they do and lead into a combo.
only problem im having right now is the dhc potential with this team is pretty poor =(
Have ya tried it? Chris’ gunfire assist was sped up from vanilla. Visually it’s also not as obvious.
i tried it for a while, didnt really compare to plasma beam from doom
i’d say that vergil and RR could be best buddies because of the log trap assist, which is so good for vergil in so many ways, but RR is just… not an easy char to play effectively.
I’m running Vergil on Anchor with Trish on point and Strider in 2nd. I might use one meter with Trish if it’s for a kill, but mostly I stockpile it on Vergil so I have 4 and an X-factor if all goes well. Not a very advanced player though, execution wise, but anyone have any tips for this setup?
Cousin and I were actually thinking rocks to help Vergil. Though I’m sure Vergil would find use for any of Doom’s assists.
The one thing I wanted to check was using vergil’s rapid slash while chris assists.
Rocket does take some getting used to. Log trap is friggin fantastic. Reallll good assist for plenty of people.
Strider and Vergil are both meter hounds. You’re also gonna need the execution for them as Strider bleeds hard and Vergil needs to go in when you get the opening you need for your 4 meter xfactor gamble.
I’m assuming you’re going Peekaboo, Vajra (a nasty assist for a teleporting Vergil), and rapid slash for assist.
Trish is great as a lead. I figure play keep away, set traps, keep them pinned with Vajra. Build meter.
I think Vergil is best at number two if Trish starts. Vergil’s Devil Trigger/spiral swords are good dhcs. He can also raw tag off of Trish’s round harvest hyper. Vergil should do well off aerial exchanges with Trish too with ground bounce to relaunch/resets with peekaboo.
Actually Vergil can kill a team by himself, the other slots are just for show.
