I’d say throw Strider on anchor for Zero/Vergil since it will give Zero a horizontal and vertical assist, and Vergil with Strider assist isn’t bad, you can get a small combo extender by using Vergil’s High Time and using Strider to bring them down and do another High Time.
true, protecting zero is huge for me since he is the heart and sole of my team and by far my best character, my friend tells me its a give and take situation because with weskers otg assist i can basically tod off most confirms or i can give that up and go for more protection and mixup potential. come to think about it Marn runs that team now lol
In response to my own complaints about not having a consistent full screen extension using Dante’s Crystal, It turns out that whatever > Helm Breaker > call Dante > pause > dash and immediately release Round Trip > c.H > L Judgement Cut > c.H > Stinger is much more consistent than the other options I was playing with. You don’t want to dash and move the opponent before Crystal OTG’s them, you dash right when Dante starts doing Crystal and release Round Trip just as you dash.
what do u guys think about vergil(i need help with the assist)/ doom (missiles) / wesker (gunshot)?
If you read the posts on this page, you might find some answers.
Nix Wesker for Magneto, Dante, AKUMA or STRIDER… seriously, Wesker adds NOTHING to that team the way you add it up
Don’t think about the assist for vergil, Rapid Slash is very clearly the choice
Magneto gives Vergil Derprupter assist for quick grounded 50/50s (Basic Teleport mixups) and Magneto is an EXCELLENT Meter builder for Vergil
ANY of** Dante’s** assists help out Vergil, Though I would suggest Weseal shot or Jam Session, Crystal as an OTG is not bad, Dante adds a LOT more to a team, not just to Vergil… Dante arguably gives the best DHC options for a character like Vergil
Akuma gives you the best GTFO button in the entire game and a derptastic anchor, also you get good conversions off of Tatsu assist
Strider… Gives Both Vergil and Doom a game changing full-screen 50/50 almost any time he is called, Beams are good but you can’t always run from Strider.
Also XF3 Orbs is one of the more retarded things in the entire game
A friend of mine is using Dante / Vergil / Wesker
Here’s the thing though, he’s using Judgement Cut on Vergil to help Dante, which gets me trying to convince him to use Rapid Slash instead, not only for combo extensions but because I feel it’s more useful in neutral.
Which Vergil assist is optimal, in your opinion, for a point Dante? Judgement Cut vs Rapid Slash.
To help Dante in what aspect? Judgement Cut has doodoo range and is no where near as good for zoning/extensions. Unless the Judgement Cut assist retains its soft knockdown property for combos and he’s doing some next level stuff with it. It’s poop. Rising Sun is probably the second best assist Vergil has too because of the hitbox and invincible CC. You can get sweet looking Acid Rain extensions too.
Can you elaborate on this a bit? I’m finding Strider assist has very limited uses with Vergil.
Strider, when called against superjumpers in conjunction with Vergils teleport puts your opponent in a 50/50 at full screen.
When combined with round trip, you can have inescapible incoming mixups that can lead to unblockables or hard to blockables, and cause he’s Vergil, you end up killing a character off of it or at very least getting 400K and a grounded mixup oppertunity.
with doom, it keeps you closer to the ground, giving doom a better oppertunity to mixup/keepaway or whatever doom wants… they press a button off of the assist call and get hit, they die from doom hitting like a truck and putting them in a corner.
Also XF3 Strider is retarded…
I run Vergil/Storm/Wesker and I must say the team is very effective, and It is very possible to hit 900k combos with starting with one bar with Vergil/Wesker, hell I’ve hit 1.05 mil with starting with one bar. The only problems I really have with the team is storm isn’t the best projectile assist but her DHCs are god like but im sure you know that, and you may have problems chasing down super jumpers if Vergil dies, without Vajra.
Alright! I’m new to S-tier madness so here we go.
My A squad is Hulk/Strange/Sentinel. Ultimate is the first fighting game I’ve taken serious (entering tourneys and such).
Yesterday I stumbled upon Vergil/Frank/Wesker eventhough Vergils give me SO MUCH TROUBLE I tried him out and like him and wanna learn him.
Frank has been one of my favorite characters since the game came out so I’ve been looking to make a level up team.
So whats you guys opinion on the team of
Vergil / Frank / Wesker?
Also, any thoughts on possible Strange/Vergil synergy & team structure. Strange is my favorite character in the game.
People say Vergil is best at 2nd, but some people also say Zero/Dante/Vergil is better than Zero/Vergil/Dante.
So what’s the better order for this team?
Also, just throwing this out there: Chris/Dante/Vergil?
The idea around Vergil second being the best is that it helps your point character gain touch of death combos if they normally weren’t able to. However with the Zero May Cry team Zero has ToD combos so he doesn’t necessarily need the strong DHC option. However if you put Vergil last, if Zero somehow dies you have Dante who is able to do similar damage off of any hit with the DHC into spiral swords. Furthermore you get to play probably the best anchor in the game as opposed to Dante who is decent at it but not at the level Vergil is at. Hence Zero/Dante/Vergil being the better team order IMO.
So, I’m relatively new to Marvel in general, and just swtiched from Nova/Doom/Wesker to Wesker(otg)/Doom(beam)/Vergil(rapid slash), so I’m especially new to Vergil. Any tips with him in this set up?
Put him upfront where he can benefit from Wesker’s otg and Doom’s beam for mixups.
But if you want to play him as anchor, be ready to burn lots of meter.
I’ll definitely give that a shot. I really only put him as anchor because I heard about how good of an anchor he was.
You could just use the order you listed Wesker Doom Vergil. Wesker point with Doom beam also works. Just a matter of whether you prefer Dark Wesker or Dark Vergil. If Doom beam is factored into a lot of your point character’s combos, you won’t be getting kill combos and resets are going to be a huge part of your early game. If Vergil is anchor, meter build is also important. So consider whether Vergil or Wesker has dirtier resets. Meter use on the team would be mostly used by Vergil. Doom can build his own during combos, and Wesker doesn’t need any.
Should’ve read before I posted, (man it’s been a long time since I’ve been on SRK), thank the forums for the edit button. So yea, Doom/Vergil/Strider sounds legit. I prefer to have doom on point so Vergil can come in off a DHC and wreck havoc on the remaining(plus I’m much more familiar with doom then Vergil right now), but can Doom and Vergil benefit from another assist more then strider? And can the Akuma assist do about the same for them as the strider assist does?
I’m starting to use this team:
Vergil (Rapid Slash)/Firebrand (Demon Missile Charge)/Nemesis (Clothesline Rocket)
