Hey guys, I just got the game recently. My team was Wesker/Vergil/Dorm, but I think I’m going to drop Wesker since he is getting kind of boring. I want to keep Vergil on my team. From reading it seems that Vergil is better on point for mixups, but I wanted to keep him second so he can come in with a lot of meter. So should I just put him on point? I want to try Doom, Dorm, and Vergil, but what assists and what order should I have them in?

I need to ask, I keep hearing people mention they want Vergil stocked with tons of meter when he comes in. What kinda combos do you guys do? I feel like all I really need is 1 meter, he will build the other one during the combo allowing either for the dimension slash or the dhc which should net you 900k easily (typically killing the opponent, unless they have 100% health). Usually during the process of setting up your crossups, the judgement cuts, roundtrips and assists should wear them 100-200k, effectively meaning your next hit should lead into TOD. The only reason to throw meter around randomly is after the rapid slash cross up. Calling swords like it’s Ouroboros is stupid imo. Random supers with someone like Ryu, Akuma, Dorm sure…but Vergil…why would you ever throw a raw super.

The more assists Vergil has, the more effective, all he needs is a lockdown/beam/projectile assist to setup his teleports, and an OTG for combo extension. I see no reason to put him 2nd or 3rd for all of those asking.

To the guy above, I’m not too sure how Dorm fits synergy wise. Dark hole I’m assuming? Maybe it allows Vergil to self OTG via hard knockdown, Dark hole, high tide, H teleport back down.

I play a fun team of Vergil/Dorm/ Morrigan. Dark hole works as a nice cross up tool on incoming characters and can help self otg in ToD combos but You’ll need to use swords> high tide to keep them juggled properly. rapid slash can be used for combo extension and keep away with Dorm to help you charge some spells. I don’t play Doom but plasma beam and hidden missiles should set up very easy mix ups and lock downs for Vergil’s pressure game

I’d place Dorm or Vergil first/second. They have great DHC synergy and build meter for the next in line quite nicely. Dorm’s a bit of a better battery than Vergil admittedly. Chaotic flame> spiral swords> :l: teleport> lunar phase> stuff does work and stalker flare> DT for easy mix ups/ safe DHC. Same goes for Vergil> Dorm stuff. It comes down to preference

Thank you for the help guys. I was messing around online yesterday to see how this team would work yesterday. I used Vergil (RS)/Dorm(DH)/Doom(MS). Vergil and Dorm synergy is indeed great. I use Dark Hole assist for teleport mixups, to keep my strings safe, and lockdown. I would like an OTG assist for combo extensions, but not sure what assist with Dorm or Doom to help with that. I had trouble with Doom on anchor, I just need to find ways to get in or he needs assists to get in.

It’s not the best OTG in the world for hitconfirming, but for combo extensions it’ll do.

Thanks for the video, that looks pretty creativity. I’ll have to mess around with that in training mode, it looks like it will take some time to get down.

Really? Cuz the only reason I’ve been using the first team is that Wesker with Mags assist is really god like

I think Wesker/Magneto/Vergil is probably the best team. You get:

  1. Wesker on point with Magneto/Vergil assists, two of the best teleport assists in the game. 'nuff said.
  2. Magneto DHCs into Vergil swords from anywhere on the screen, giving you Lunar Phase x2 (ground bounce, since Magneto doesn’t use it), c.H > Stinger (wall bounce, since Magneto doesn’t use it) round trip right into more swords loops. Very meter-efficient especially because of how Magneto’s combos work.
    2A: Once you have Vergil in, once again, you have one of the best teleport mixups in the game
  3. Two of the best battery characters in the game before Vergil, basically ensuring he comes in with 5 meters for some Japanese Vergil-anchor strategy

And while it’s just Magneto, you get Vergil assist to zone with, which is really obnoxious.

Not all of these points are exclusive to this team, but I like it a lot for these reasons.

I’m set and determined to play Vergil on point

Vergil point, then I’d run Wesker Magneto abusing beam assist teleports for as long as you can. If you think Wesker can’t finish it off, then switch out to Mags via shockwave DHC (preferably catching an assist). Then you have access to unblockables and OTG grav, tempest. What really matters though is letting Wesker heal up a bit and getting xf3 Wesker. Mag’s can play lame with beams and flying around or rush down, so you can control the pace as you see fit to let Wesker heal.

I’m having a though time deciding on:

Vergil/Dante/Wesker (for more DHC power and combo power and meter)

or

Vergil/Wesker/Hawkeye (arrows to cover teleports)

Im currently playing wesker (gun), vergil (rapid slash), and magneto (disruptor) and im unable to kill the first character in my first combo I get 840k which kills some chars but after finishing the super with virgil they can tag if they have meter.
Been thinking of changing it to zero (???), vergil (slash), doom (hidden missiles), even though the aproach of vergil will be weaker due to not having a beam assist, zero builds ridiculous amount of meter, and with a dhc to vergil I can hit a million I think. Does this seem like a good team?

My current team is Vergil/Deadpool/Doom, but im thinking to change the order to Deadpool/Vergil/Doom.

Deadpool, is in my opinion a great point char, and can build meter for vergil, also guns into swords DHC works very nice. Im just not sure of what assist to use on vergil, his rapid slash maybe? Does deadpool take good advantage on that assist?

Sure it’s a good team but…Can’t you just DHC phantom dance into spiral swords to kill them with Wesker/Vergil? If you’re looking to switch teams, then sure Zero is a nice pick in general, and it’s a good Zero team. But if you just don’t think Wesker/Vergil/Mags works I think you’re mistaken.

Rapid Slash is a great assist for a zoner like Deadpool since it pushes the opponent away from you.

I know they are good. I’ve just started to become frustrated by almost killing peeps.
What’s the best ender after dhc’ing into spiral swords?, maybe the one im using is just ass.

Since wesker doesn’t use your groundbounce you can get three lunar phases, that’s 200k+ damage. But i’d suggest changing the order to vergil/wesker/mag. Vergil kills easily off one touch and once he is dead, wesker has enough meter to end his combos with a thc with shockwave. Just make sure you teleport out of the corner for the shockwave to fully connect, that’s pretty good damage too.

Wesker/Vergil/Magneto is a top team for sure. This team works in any order (Wesker/Magneto/Vergil, Wesker/Vergil/Magneto, Vergil/Wesker/Magneto, Vergil/Magneto/Wesker). Personally I would play it Vergil 2nd because any combo from Wesker can lead into a TOD thanks to the powerful DHC.
