Being a Chun player, pokes/normals are the first thing I know try to learn well with any character. Then you can learn spacing and zoning.
Right now I just all out rushdown with Sakura. She has changed me from defensive minded player to an offensive minded player. Its intelligent rush down though lol.
I know that guy. Disregard that video, he doesn’t play Sakura. In fact, he takes great pleasure raping my Sak with Zangief. He’s really a Gief player… A DAMN GOOD Gief player, so I suppose he was just goofing off on that one.
Took the words right out of my mouth. Shame most newbies only learn how to spam special moves and do j.HK > c.HK combos…
Sakura, like all characters really, need to learn your basic combos first (before the complex stuff). But unlike quite a few characters I think learning her link combos is pretty damn important.
BTW what’s a “Shippu”? Sounds like something from Naruto Shunpuu Kyaku is the name of her move, translates to “Spring Breeze Kick” (more or less)
Hehe
I also have them
Heh not only does Sakura “master” the Gadouken, she surpasses it too
Psh, gotta figure in the :3p: lariat and EX green hand in there somehow. :arazz:
I, too, am mostly a Chun player. Normals and footsies are definitely top order. Mobility options (the hows and whys with regards to your character getting around on the screen) are important as well. You also want to emphasize to newer players (and MvC2 transplants) that jumping is a last resort.
Some of you may have already read it, the part that I find interesting is the bit about every character getting something new. Assuming he’s not talking about the extra Ultra it makes me wonder what Sakura will get. Hopefully it won’t just be a new Ultra and Shinkuu Hadouken if that rumour turns out to be true.
after beating a sagat who spent half his time taunting me and throwing tigers, i get this marvelous gem in my PSN inboxl: “I hate that overpowered bitch”
Just started picking up Sakura today (technically last night). Didn’t really know most of her combos, but I have a lot of Akuma experience, so after browsing through her moves and fiddling with the EX.shunpu a bit I felt confident to get my ass beat by my friend (mains ryu exclusively, definitely above average). Get my ass beat for about 4 rounds while I take mental notes (what normals are good for what etc.).
And then the “Oh wow, she’s really fast has ridic mixup and her combo’s don’t hit like a pansy O.o…” kicked in and shit went down hill for Ryu ^_^. Was mostly playing with a rush-down akuma frame of mind (fireball > ex.otoshi to gain ground back, resets off of ex.shunpu, abusing her mad long range focus attack).
Greatly enjoying the speed and concept of Sakura, might have to drop Guile for her =P
HAHAHA! I love me some good Sakura talk! ^^ looks like we converted another player! woot.
In sad news my arcade stick basically is unplayable anymore. I’m tryign to use the normal controller until I can buy a new stick. Sadness is me… but! my friends at work started playing sf4 again…so that’s good… more 1 vs 1 face to face time for me!
I completed Ryu’s trials in 15mins (just to spite ryu users) but only because I got stuck on hard 2 and on hard 5 I was doing the ultra too early. Its amazing how much harder sakura’s are!
