Yeah, I have played some really good Honda’s offline, but the different is offline you can play on reaction so you can safely move foward and not eat a headbutt 100% of the time. Online, pretty much any movement towards Honda means you just ate a headbutt since you (or I) cant react block it, THANK YOU ONLINE DELAY WE APPRECIATE IT!!!
I have some horrible news…
I just played the SRK user EmoKiddisEmo on PSN… we had 5 bars, green connection…
IT LAGGED LIKE A ONE BAR CONNECTION!!! It was unplayable… Yet it kept saying 5 green bars… PSN SUCKS!!! FUCK PSN.
Sorry everyone. I’m just so angry. Sorry for the language…
Yeah you can’t really trust what those bars say. I was playing Flowers the other day and it said 1 bar. We both live in London so it should be a great connection. Anyway we started playing and there was no lag at all :xeye: Strange.
i played filipinochamp’s dhalsim from SRK in some locals… while he beat me everytime (cause his execution is fucking godly), he said sakura is gonna be a problem because he had problems keeping me zoned. you just have to watch those teleports and punish them brutally. FAs are your friend to… you can score crumples by hitting their long arms
Yeah!
I usually do a quick swap to the stick because it’s much more accurate, but that time I decided not to for some reason, and I payed for it!
I’m just really unlucky when it comes to playing people online, and a bit too impatient. It’s kinda frustrating when I see some people who play really badly, or mash buttons and they get replays all the time
I hate dropping combos, blowing that free Ultra is the worst. Seems I get EX Oopsie more than EX Tatsu when I’m trying to Ultra though. I think it has to do with my grip. I use a psudo-wineglass grip that really screws me over when I’m doing double quarter circle left (Ultra from 1P side).
In order of most frequent cockups trying to do the Ultra:
- Otoshi
- Shunpuu
- s.HK
Motion usually looks something like F F DF D DB B (DF) D DB B (F/DF) - the F or DF at the end is usually when I “flick” the stick, occasional DF in the middle is from exaggerating the motion. Either one of those two will make an Otoshi happen IF the Ultra motion isn’t complete Otherwise Ultra takes priority over Otoshi.
Try using :d: :db: :d: :db: :l:+:k::k::k:
If you do a more deliberate input you may find you execute it more quickly. “Slow is smooth. Smooth is fast.”
^ What I use. Basically just go forward, HCB, flick your wrist two times and ta-da. Even if you mess up and go :d: :db: :d: :df: :d: :db: :l: it still registers.
I wish I could do ultra quickly so I could do shit like catching balrogs dash punches. Slow and smooth works great when I’ve got them floating in the air off ex shunpun in the corner and I have all the time in the world to do the input… not as good when I wanna get it off quickly on reaction to a dash punch tho =\
Yeah I know how that is but I have it worse on Seth, trying to quickly catch a jump with his and instead getting a stupid teleport and fucking up the match >.<
I swear the game just doesn’t want me to get in another G1 final I see really bad players get through all the time, but it never seems to work out for me. Like I’ll see replays and people just mash buttons all the time and it just works.
silly things always happen in semis to me, like I’ll FA someone, they’ll block it, I’ll dash towards them so I can throw, but my throw misses and they’ll just grab me afterwards, or they’ll grab me when doing a shouoken, or like they jab through all of my attempts to throw, and when I do the same and try to jab them before a throw, I just get thrown.
All sorts really.
Everything up until that point usually goes great though.
You won’t believe how often I’ve been 1 small punch away from victory and still lost because of a stupid error I made or I felt for a turtling game. Just hang on Hidamarii, you’ll get there soon enough with your skills. My only tip: be patient and try to develop two fighting styles you can use in two rounds. Well at least that’s what I’m trying. Because I’ve noticed if I perfect somebody in the first round, it definitely doesn’t work a second round.
My frustration of the day are still those damn Balrogs. I can’t stand them!
I normally do that, first round I’ll play different to the others, just in case.
But I’m just too impatient. I can’t do what a lot of other people do and wait around all day. It’s just no fun, I’ll try but then get bored after like 10 seconds or so of nothing happening!
I just let a 69000GP Guile that I beat earlier beat me, because he was so close to GS, that I thought it’d be nice if he got the win, so regardless of what happened the next round, he’d be in GS
Sounds like my usual bad luck
I’m tempted to try Sagat and see how far I get without using a single normal Tiger spam R Us!
Pick Gief and only use Lariate, I got to a finals doing that one. I promise all I did was lariate and nothing else. I was laughing so hard, my side started hurting.
So my car broke down and I can’t fight my local comp anymore  Now I’m back to playing online again… good lord it’s terrible. I still feel like I’m becoming a worse player when I win against the random people on CE mode
I should just pick ken and fierce DP my way to G1…
Heh that’d take a while, I think people got accustomed to that a while ago (hence don’t see them much anymore)
I tried the Zangief 360 PPP mashing before and didn’t work, for some funny reason they kept stuffing my Lariats with jumping attacks
Cookie, use online for entertainment reasons only. Seriously log on today and do some champ mode and only use throws. No kicks or punches just throws. See how many rage quits/hate mail you can get. My personal record is 4 rages and 3 hate mails in one session of playing.
I use champsionship mode to practice footsies or try out new things. I can’t take online seriously anymore because it just throws off my timing when playing offline
