Recent Purchases and Good Finds

used, very good condition. ps3/4 hrap4 kai silent. $152.99

And just a heads up for anyone that has a local Fry’s Electronics near them, they should go into the store and check to see if they have any used ones there if you want one of these a little cheaper. They often have open box items and returned items there. This past weekend in Woodland Hills (CA) store they had two sticks one for about $170 for open box and another for $165 for a returned one.

Sorry it’s not an online deal, but just wanted to let you know. They seem to be selling a lot of Mad Catz and Hori stuff there recently.

I love Fry’s, sadly, the nearest one is 8 to 10 hours away.

fry’s always has really good deals. too bad there’s no stores in New York.

Found a Hori VLX for sale locally. Negotiated for $140. Lightly used and remained in storage. Came with the mounting base but no button plugs, cloth, manual or box. I’ve installed kuros, oversized actuator, battop, yellow start button. Ordered a brooks adapter, red button plugins.

got these for $110 from local Carousell

If you replay Aladdin today, you see the Genesis version had great graphics and animation, but the gameplay is inferior to the SNES version. SNES version was less shiny, but I never had to complain about gameplay. In any case, both MD and SNES are not masterpieces if you take off the nostalgia effect.

$110 for the whole lot? You practically stole that stuff.

Holy f*ckin balls that’s a good deal! Last time i spend 110 bling blings for video games was for a brand new HRAP EX if i remember correctly

yup, guy wanted to sell the whole lot at once, but apparently the buyer before me refused to pick up anything other than the TE…

He could’ve sold the stuff he didn’t want…

I managed to buy a KI Te2 for $100 on craigslist, really nice dude who apparently listed the item before at higher prices. Wish I had a separate picture of it but I just have a picture with all my sticks in it.

Gonna try and get a 360 TE2 pretty soon for an even better price. Seems like sticks don’t sell to well on craigslist?

This thread makes me want to go out to thrift stores and yard sales. I used to do that a lot, but it becomes an obsession. The best I ever found was an N64 with 3 good controllers and the memory expansion for $15. Not a bad deal at all, but definitely a rare one around here. Too many guys waking up early and heading out to snatch up all the good stuff.

Someone recently left a practically new Atari Flashback 5 next to my trashcan. Works great. I wish there was a way to add roms to it though.

This thread actually made me hit up some thrift stores today and all I did was waste gas hahaha. Just wasn’t my day.

There was a worn down psx controller with loose parts inside for like $11, not worth the risk.

Its not easy hitting up yards sales, flee markets and thrift stores. Not like how it used to be.
Too many people are searching though yard sales, flee markets and thrift stores and to few offer anything.

People find out how much this stuff sells on the secondary market and would sell their gaming stuff on eBay or Cragis list for even more money.
eBay is no longer the bargain savings it used to be, too many people sell high on eBay.

I didn’t find anything, but that does not mean there mo means to mod it. Most of the Mods are for the 1 and 2 Machines.

I have never found any good deals on ebay. I’ve been stalking things and the prices just skyrockets in the last five minutes. I live in Manhattan so no yard sales here. there’s a couple of flee markets but the couple of times I’ve gone I’ve never seen any video game related stuff.

I find most things, in the arcade stick market, sell on eBay for what they are worth. Someone might get lucky and get it for a few bucks under value, but generally not. Of course, there are a billion overpriced BIN listings out there. The multiple listings for the new Mad Catz sticks come to mind.

To find anything truly special, you have to search every day, multiple times a day and hope to strike gold.

I’ve actually found the trading outlet here to be the best place to buy video games stuff. specially arcade stick related for obvious reasons. amazon warehouse has really good deals too, most of their like new and very good products are brand new, sealed things that got returned because the box got damaged and the buyer was too picky about it.

I opened it up and looked inside. If there is a way to add roms, it’s well beyond my skills.

My last really good fine was 5 months ago when I grabbed Smash Bros Melee for $3.
