Recent Purchases and Good Finds

snagged a great deal on a boxed namco on ebay. unfortunately the seller thought it was TOO good a deal, sent me a fake tracking number and seems to have disappeared with my cash =/

no way he did that. What fcker, u have the link for the namco seller burglar. Hope it wasnt that brand in box namco for 75 dollars.

it wasnā€™t NIB, but it looked fairly decent condition. hereā€™s the auction in question: NAMCO ARCADE STICK PS1 on eBay (end time 26-Sep-10 17:42:51 BST)

he gave me some story about the courier company losing the parcel. itā€™s possible i guess, but given that the tracking number wasnā€™t legit and he seemed really eagar to refund me my money and forget about it, iā€™m more than a little disappointed.

Awesome! Thanks for the heads up, I have it on 360 but I let my Gold sub run out and didnā€™t want to pay full price for the PS3 version.

I can confirm that SSFIV is $20 at Target, with some discount stacking, I got it for $15, easiest part of a christmas present down

Snagged a copy of super for 360, cant beat it at 20$

Amazon.com: Used and New: Real Arcade Pro: 3 Premium VLX

Real Arcade Pro: 3 Premium VLX for 227.99 and 13 bucks for shippingā€¦Iā€™d get it but donā€™t own a ps3, and already have a ps3 stick striclty for tourny use

Yes that is the one it was bent. Bent part wasnt bad.

Thanks Ewa, im glad u point out to me about the panel and also happy u got one for awesome deal to. This one i have is the last one and i not selling it after owning 6 of those. Selling 5 after lol.

Not yet Maj u should, this was the first thing i did when i got home yesterday night was to fix this baby up lol.

I saw it tonight for $20 and still passed. Iā€™ll get it for $10 when I see it at the pawn shop. The first one bored me to tears. :wasted:

Tekken 6 was also $20 if you guys havenā€™t picked it up either.

@kyle - Gotcha Man. Everyone here in Tally plays on 360 so I figured Iā€™d Snatch it up to eventually get on Live with itā€¦

Got in my DB25 Breakout Boards off of eBay today. Although they are a bit expensive (6 Bucks Each) I was able to get both in the HSS along with 2 DB25 Male connector without having to Modify anything. The more I mess with this stick the more I understand why itā€™s so amazing. Now i get to wait on my buddy Soldering my PCBā€™s and sending them backā€¦ This stick is seriously Taunting me lol.

Finally got a chance to play on one of these at a recent local event (OCTOBER FIST!)

http://www.d3vlicious.com/storage/files/jello_LoZ_blue.jpg

For those who donā€™t know, this is a custom stick by a Philippine builder who goes by jello900, specifically, this is one of his ā€œstandardā€ cases (he also has a TE lookalike case). My first impressions was ā€œdamn! this is smaller then I thought it would be.ā€ Indeed, the stick is both relatively compact (slightly smaller then a TE ā€œSā€) and lightweight (more on that later). Itā€™s also pretty slim with the JLF just fitting in the case.

The whole stick itself costs Php 5500 which is about $126.5 making it one of the cheaper customs out there. Off course, the price does come with a few drawbacks. Itā€™s not made of any exotic hard wood (which should explain the lightness) and there arenā€™t any options for stylish paintjobs. That said, alot of the savings comes from the fact that some of the parts are cheaper here (acrylic costs 1/2 of what it would in the US).

The lightness itself could be something of a dealbreaker, the owner of the stick did mention that he wished it was heaver - however I myself found no problems playing with it. PCB used is a generic bootleg PC/PS3 PCB, 360 PCB costs more since heā€™ll have to padhack an official pad (although last I talked to him, he was planning to use Joytron PCBs). Also, the wire isnā€™t removeable (then again, Iā€™ve yet to find any Neutrikā€™s or similar locally). One small detail I did like was the flush mounted 24mmā€™s in the back.

The biggest issue however for anyone who may want to have one of these made the shipping. If youā€™re living in the US/Canada, it would be better to find someone to build something similar for you. Best way is if you know someone who lives here who can send it to you or bring it with them when they do go across the Pacific (I believe this is how Mark was planning to get his, have it sent to his parents, dunno if that pushed through though). If you live in the country though or within the region, shipping is obviously less of an issue.

Personally, Iā€™d have one made if not for the fact that I do have a TEK based custom being assembled somewhere in Maryland.
