Look man maybe your not seeing the point here. Quit stereotypng and pay attention.
You say that WE DOA FANS dont know about what makes a good fighting game. Well maybe because we don’t give a crap about what YOU think. So what if DOA isn’t as technical. I’ll admit it isn’t. But I stil like DOA better. Do you know why… Because I hate Tekken. SC got old after a bit for me. And Virtua Figter… well… it was cool… but I didnt have fun with it. THATS what it comes down to. “FUN” DOA has held my interest longer than any other series. And I pity any fool who disrespects that. Way uncool  .
I don’t care about your tecnical know hows or your 100% air combos or whatever. I just like DOA better. Faggotry? What the hell kind of word is that? It’s like an adjective for bundle of sticks. I assure you we are not bundles of sticks for likeing DOA better. So just go play your Tekken and leave DOA fans alone. We have done nothing wrong. The only tme we say anything is when fans of other fighters bash it. So be quiet. At least I dont anyway.
And there’s no problem saying you like DoA better than Tekken, but it’s the people who try and make up crap to say DoA is a better overall game than ANY of the others I listed who’re crazy and dunno shit about any other fighting games. That’s what I’m getting at.
You can like what you want, but don’t try and put DoA over any other games at a technical/competitive level.
First off, PS2 controller, play any fighting game for 5 minutes, massive sore thumb, ouch! play any fighting game with an xbox controller for hours, no sore thumb, wow, I think I will stick with my xbox controller, thank you.
Second, beforehand I never really cared for the DoA series much, but this one is just too much fun to play online. Any other current fighting game, you just connect to one other person, and play just that one other person, until you get bored which can get fast, then leave, and look for another one person to fight against. Time consuming. Whereas in DOA, make a room of 3, 4, or even up to 8 people, taking turns, and if everyone is about equal, you wont be playing the same person over and over again, making it more enjoyable, more replayable.
That IS bad-ass. That whole “Virtual Arcade” idea was damn good, and I hope other online fighting-games pick that up.
The only problem with it is sometimes one of the 8 people in the room could be lagging EVERYONE in the room to death, especially when 2 people are trying to fight. But it’s not like that happens all the time. Even a room with just 4 people is cool enough for me.
My oint is that most of us just find it more fun than the others. At least al the DOA fans I hang out with anyway. We’ll admit it’s not as technical. But we get more fun out of playing DOA.
Yea I hate that about the online to. BUt also like you said it doesn’t hapen all the time. And esides the room can be limited to specific people only.
Its’ really no biggy what any of us think of the other fighting game we don’t like. It’s not like anyone on the other side will isten anyway. It’s all a matter of preference and opinion.
I dont have anything against the game… .but i find it lacking compared to other fighters. Im guessing that the majority of people whove played doa only bothered to even look at a movelist unless they were using a grappler type character. Seeing as theres not much point when you can just counter most of what gets thrown out it and call it a day. There arent any elaborate moves in the game that dont feel like they are worth any more than a standard p,p,k,k combo since its all treated the same when it comes to counters. Besides the fanservice im guessing thats part of the reason it dosent get any respect.
From all the threads I have read on here with people arguing about Tekken and DOA and VF I have noticed a few things. First, it is pretty much agreed that VF is the most “in-depth” (not necessarily the best) of the three. Also most people seem to think DOA is a (failed) attempt to be like virtua fighter. I’m not going to say that I think DOA sucks though, because I have never put time into playing it. I do play Tekken a lot , and anyone who says it is scrub or button masher friendly and doesn’t play it seriously, I would like to play first to 10 for $100. But anyways, to all you DOA players who like to come here and argue about why DOA doesn’t suck and why its good, here is some advice: You are arguing in the WRONG place. This is a forum for hardcore capcom fighting game players. Everyone here agrees (you might disagree) on the complexity and skill involved in CAPCOM games. You are arguing with a brick wall (a brick wall which I PERSONALLY happen to think is correct, but that’s beside the point). So ok , you like DOA, but face it, you’re not going to convert anybody here into seriously playing that game.
That is the Truest/Funniest shit I’ve read in quite a while! As far as 3d’s go DOA doesn’t even make top 3. Beautiful game not very competitive though!
DOA is garbage wearing lipstick and fake boobs. If you just download hentai doujins that spoof DOA, there’s absolutely NO need to play any of the games.
A) You don’t play DOA because no one else around here does. We don’t play DOA because the Gamestop crew and Myself gave it a shot and hated it! Any game so dependant on reversals, so predictable and slow(timing wise and mentally!) cannot have the Mixup mind games and zoning need that a classical fighter demands! ie TTT, T3, SC1 SC2 and any VF(if you are in Asia). DOA just gets lumped in that folder with Plasma Blade and Battle Arena Toshinden(which I might add was better looking!)
