/\ Thanks again for that pic of Lei Fang :smokin:
Eh. Honestly this is more fun than playing GGXX reload online. This is the only fighting game I’ve played with (near) lagless matches. Unlike some peeps I dont have alot of time ( or money) to spend in arcades. Hopefully that’ll change soon…but for now this is how I get my fighting game fix when my friends arent around.
Agreed, this game is shit. I must have been heavily under the influence of something when I bought it. I since smashed up the disc breaking it. I got far more satisfaction out of destroying the disc then selling it for some of my money back, I never even played the doa1 disc, so I burned that. Silly porn0 game
Hey cool the second wave.
 troll patrol
Fei Long? (At least in appearence/theme)
The real Bruce Lee couldn’t doa kick that set his leg on fire, and I forgot Bass, though he is probably one of the first Hulk Hogan rip offs in a fighting game (that I can think of).
seems to me all the DoA haters that hate this game just suck really bad online…
because if you were kickin ass ya wouldn’t be complaining about the game!!
Hey at least its better than Tekken.
better then tekken? haha, no
id doubt that, and tekken > doa.
PS2 can do a perfect conversion of any 2D fighter out right now. You do realize the only reason MvC2 and some others suck on PS2 is because they’re retarded ports done by lazy people, right?
And I just don’t know about DOA games anymore. I think they’re fun, but I hate the people that like it. Hell, they almost make me hate it.
It’s not nice to stereotype you know. Some of us aren’t bad people.
There was a Hulk Hogan rip-off in the Neogeo game “World Heroes”, guy named ‘Muscle Power’ or somesuch.
Well DoA did do something new, it’s t he first game to have a Dennis Rodman rip off…
DOA Ultimate is not the best fighting game to play, but its one of the best on xbox live to play. I have barely seen lag, wonderful graphics. The only gripe I have is the damage on countering. I have played online on the PS2 and it sucks big time. As far as DOA being for guys wacking off,I have seen a few gals online play it besides me and have talked to them, they love playing it,so DOA is not just for horny men:rofl:
If anyone wants to gripe about gameplay on xbox live it should be for the 2D fighters like GGXX#R,CvS2 due to the big lag time and how many guys disconnected on me before the match ended I have never had that happen on DOA before.
Well…that’s not gonna happen on DOA cuz you get the win if someone drops on you in DOA any ways.
cool,i have never had anyone drop out on me before on DOA. had a guy drop out of our tourney match in MK decpetion a few days ago:rofl:
Which is saying alot I’m sure.
And whoever said that DoA is better than Tekken should be flayed.
doa has like a dennis rodman, hulk hogan and bruce lee rip off all in one game. Damn, where does team loser gets their ideas from
The fact that DoA has always been absent from huge events is merit enough to show that there’s either not enough people who play it seriously, or not enough people who take it seriously. The last few times it was actually at an event (I believe it was at NEC5; not sure), the turn-out, from what I heard, was EXTREMELY low by comparison to the other games that were being held.
It’s a “fun” game. It’s got a 4-player tag battle that no other game has done. The game centers around ninjas and it has some very cool characters to it. It looks great and has loads of fan-service for all those pervs and otakus out there. HOWEVER, as far as gameplay goes, it just lacks too damn much when compared to the Soul Calibur, Tekken, and Virtua Fighter series’. Not to mention the game got way more button-masher friendly and wall-crazy in Dead or Alive 3, which has been out for years now, and is still not taken seriously. The game seems to be playing worse and worse as the fan-service gets higher and higher. Even though DoA:U was a remake, I think it went in a good direction restoring the original DoA2 commands and adjusting the Mid-Kick Hold in the game. THAT was very cool.
As far as the people who like this game, I’ve heard more complaints about the “lack of costumes” than the lack of gameplay. I don’t even think DoA lovers know that much about what makes a good 3D Fighting game is they can’t admit that DoA needs a facelift. I hope DoA4 does a much better job than all the previous games, but from what I know, the guy who makes the game (Itagaki) is all about “pleasing the fans” and sticking to his vision, so I don’t see him being very flexible in changing the gameplay with the risk of pissing off “the fans”, especially if it’s something a bit too technical for scrubs. I’d be very pleased to have him prove me wrong.
So basically, this topic is kicking a fighting-game series while its down. It has ALWAYS been down.
And it’s just fucking nuts to say that any of the other 3D-Fighting games I’ve listed aren’t better than DoA. That’s just friggin’ bias and faggotry. You’re blind to the competitive gaming world if you think otherwise.
