Realistic changes that can save SFxT?

My bad, I thought we were having an actual discussion, didn’t realize your just trolling for the hell of it. I won’t waste the time anymore.

On order to have an actual discussion, one needs to be able to accept the distinct possibility that, just because a dev said says something, it doesn’t neccessarily follow that said dev is telling the truth.

Especially in light of the evidence to the contrary.

It is okay though.

By all means, leave the conversation to the adults.

Because somewhere along the lines S-Kill realized the game was a piece of shit and that SRK was going to pick it up regardless of it. As such he probably yelled at Ono for 3 hours straight at the fact that these communities are the ones that kept fighting games alive by creating so much footage of them being played at a high level hat they could sell something bad like SF4. As such he needed to throw them at least half a chicken bone so they could hopefully do the same for SFxT and sell more copies.

S-Kill has the hardest PR gig right now. I think I’d rather explain all the nonsense Lindsay Lohan does than have to justify most of Capcom’s actions; at least Lohan makes some crazy sense, Capcom doesn’t.

Ono was the one that said it, actually.

You put yourself in the discussion about developers intent when it benefits your argument when you claim SF4 wasn’t made for casuals and SFxT was, but then when it doesn’t benefit anymore you pull a switch…

In order to have a discussion that actually consists of intelligent conversation you can’t have a double standard. What your doing is more along the lines of an angry girlfriend acting passive aggressive and ignoring logic.

But regardless, I see now that all you’ve been doing is argue with everyone anyway.

Correct if I’m wrong I may have missed a post but I thought the argument at hand was whether or not ONo intended SF4 for the casual and SFXT for the contrary, in relation to SF4. Not that it actually is.

Soo ummm yeah, if that is the argument, which I am cautiously assuming because of the post above, I would think that “developer intention” has a lot to do with the conversation at hand.

Off Topic: Cynicism is the mark of adulthood

The concept behind a scrub is that their own subjective beliefs about the game is counter-productive to their overall progression in skill. So no, I’d rather have 5,000 newbies with an open mindset learning this brand new game than 5,000 scrubs jumping the gun.

I asserted that SF4 is far better suited to competitive play that SFXT, irrespective of dev intent.

Period.

You are going to have to point out where I argued that the devs aren’t bald faced liars aggressively pushing a shitty, broken game, in the form of SFXT.

Until then, you are not going to sound intelligent in the least, nor intelligible, for the Cap-Cock stuck in your mouth.

lmao, I must of beat at least 5 people on ranked exactly like that. As a psychology major I was shocked as it goes against the “pleasure principal” and even “operant conditioning”

How about all you people complaining, stop complaining and get your game up. Let the game grow on its own.

You know how people are… they have this idea that being a cynic about new things instead of experiencing and actually being a part of these things is cool.

They give off the illusion to others that they are mature, that they are better, and that the feet they walk on walk on greener grasses than others.
When in reality hate is their only reason for living and the only thing that ignites the flames of their egos.

They dont wanna get better at the game, they dont wanna play a new game, they dont even necessarily want a better game.
All they wanna do is portray an image of enlightenment, instead of just enjoying sht. They rather appease their craving to hate, rather than the contrary.

Cynicism is a terrible thing :lame:

Stop posting like you’re good already. Jesus christ.

Normal anti-airs are fucking FINE in this game. You have to do them earlier than say, SF4… but hey, SF4 was ass anyway.

Who are you, again?

Riiiiiiight…

Yeah. That’s the only actual problem I have with the game. Sure, the damage is high but if you can’t finish your opponent off then it’s meaningless, specially coupled with damage reduction, shielding and life healing gems. I’ve had people tag out after losing half their health and coming back more than I’d like to. Health regen is the biggest issue IMO, since gray damage heals too fast for gray-damage-removing mechanics like tags and Cross Arts to make a difference.

Characters on point gradually losing their grey health like it used to happen in older builds would be great.

I am the guy who basically has seen you throw a temper tantrum in every thread related to this game and it’s really really annoying.

Standing jabs are fine if they didn’t hit crouchers, otherwise they become this huge wall that stuffs all your crouching attacks. Forward roll needs to be slower more obvious or have recovery, it’s just annoying as it is. They need to remove the freeze when you hit a magic series ender, it should be like switch canceling. Everyone needs to walk way faster, and walk backwards way faster. The stages are just too big for the characters to not be moving quickly.

Why isn’t this game exactly like ST?

If it’s any different from ST, it’s wrong. Wrong and shit.

Also, I agree with the grey life bit. They should either change that or extend the timer.

Time freezing during Supers would be nice.

cough Also buff Steve and give Raven a glasses mechanic cough

most of the core mechanics have already been discussed… so i’m just gonna list 2 personal pet peeves:

  1. what the fuck. why did capcom slow down cammy’s dives so fucking much? i mean i remember checking out the matches at last years NCR and being super excited to get a cammy with decent dives again… didn’t pay much attention to the game after that, then picked it up and hopped straight into it with cammy… only to find that they slowed it down to ass speed. LAME! then of course i go look at rufus’s dive… for shame capcom

  2. can capcom please figure out how to make juggles work correctly? if i have to watch another character fall out of the final normal hit of kens super (you know… the hit that initiates the cinematic portion of it that has the vast majority of the damage…) i’m gonna scream.

BIG THUG NUTZ

thats not exactly the whole story

normal AAs range from 60-90 damage. most dont allow follow up combos on counterhit
jump in heavies are 100 damage almost all the way across the board. unfavoreable trades
jumps are faster in this game than sf4
grounded AA hitboxes are smaller here than sf4 (dps included). air hitboxes are larger than in sf4

its ok tho. thats the way the game is. most characters can not AA in a traditional sense without risking the jump in trading in the attacking players favor, or having the AA normal be beaten clean for a 400dmg combo.

the developers did most of this stuff on purpose with the intent of forcing the air to air counter hit follow up combos, in addition to having the fights to be played more from close range, instead of the mid range area where most of sf4 is played. at least at the starting point of the meta game anyway. we will see how it plays whenever people are actually playing this game at the highest level, but right now jumping is encouraged
