Just do the mixer earlier
A good way to test meatyness is to set Nash to wakeup VTrigger, because it will avoid anything that doesn’t hit on the first or second frame of his wakeup. Rashid’s cr.LP, st.LP , and cr.LK are 12, 13, and 14 frames total respectively. Doing cr.LP,f.HP after MP mixer knockdown against reversal VT whiffs (because it’s past active frames), hits second frame meaty after st.lp and the first frame after cr.LK. f.HP is 23 frames startup, therefore you are 14+23 = +37 frames against quick wakeup after MP mixer knockdown.
Another example is after EX Mixer you can do cr.MP, lk and it hits 2nd frame meaty, cr.MP, LP and it hits, cr.MP, MP and it hits (on the opponents second wakeup frame). That means you are 25+4 = +29 after EX Mixer knockdown.
After LP mixer knockdown dash up MP whiffs (past active frames), dash up cr.MK hits (second active frame), dash up cr.MP hits, and dash up HP whiffs (before active frames) . So LP mixer knockdown is 15 (dash frames) + 7 = +22 frames against quick getup.
I might be messing up the math as to how exactly + frames are supposed to be determined on wakeup, but you get the idea.
This character -_-
Playing Rashid gives me the same feeling i had playing kof13 with no HD combos. The damage differential is too much…gotta win more situations with him…thats fine…but he doesnt have a keepaway game that widdles away at the opponents life. Rashid walking backwards does nothing but put u in da corner (which aint as bad considering wall jump tricks.)
I feel like i would have to master his vskill attacks to safely build vtrigger for guaranteed damage n mixups. (I think hes +3 if u land on their feet. I think its worth seeing if there are meat setups with this). Otherwise i dont see how u can consistently win with him. Too many reads right now. Not enuff to make the opponent hang themselves.
He fun as hell. But i do want to get another character up to snuff.
Yeah his damage is my main issue with him right now, but there’s also how stubby some of his limbs feel compared to a lot of the cast. Like with his mediums, most characters can get 3 mediums in a blockstring and still be in range to be a threat and do shit. Rashid can barely get 2 and you end up negative in the end.
I just feel outranged against a lot of the cast and I don’t like it lol.
Been playing more Vega lately tho, I feel like he’s a really good secondary to have with the saiyan prince.
I actually disagree as far as Rashid having stubby normals. Have you played Ken or Laura? Their footsies are much much worse, but they make up for it in having ridiculous damage output. Rashid’s heavy attacks are all either 0 or -2 on block besides his sweep and his medium attacks are all amazing. If you’re feeling outranged, get outside their range and either whiff punish or use L whirlwind.
I think Rashid’s greatest strength is his ability to stay in for a considerable amount of time. Not a lot of characters get the consistent safe pressure he does.
Just need to play footsies and optimize everything you do.
If you feel stubby, you probably rely too much on mp and cr mk. His cr lk is one of the furthest and while it cannot connect once out of range, it puts you in a safe distance to throw out a WWS frame trap. Alternate between various WWS so that you can condition them to block your H WWS or Ex WWS that allows you cancel into a roll for +pressure or wind-assisted crossup neutral jump. Also, once you are out of range, cr hp is very good. It hits twice so you can be safe against armoured moves. If all else fails there is always f mp and hk. Quite reliable so far.
For jump ins, use j hp instead. J hk isn’t as reliable. J hp hits low enough to win or trade most the time. And j mk shouldn’t even be used except for crossups and safe jump setups.
Throws lots of hp and hk into your mixups and meaties. They build lots of v meter. I never ran out of vt whenever I need it. A lot of times I get 2 in a single match too.

I have been messing around with Rashid lately, really fun character. I am wondering what crush counter punish (meterless) you all use? Is 5Hk, 6Mp, Kick fast enough to punish a DP consistently or should I be using 5Hp? It seems to me like the meterless 5Hp crush counters
Cr lk lk st hp seems to grant me a free cc sometimes. Or cr lk st lp cr lk WWS frametrap. Mp hp too. Or mp cr lk f mp. My fav is jump in attack and immediately overhead. Or cr mp/ st lk tick throw.
Best 1 meter counter is CH cr hp EX WWS hp h.ES. Or cancel into a vroll assault for a free 5fr safe jump mk followup.
Best 2 meters would be CC hk f mp EX ESx2 m/h mixer. I prefer m mixer mid screen for the free roll lk pressure after that.
Best corner would be CC hp EX WWS vroll hp vroll assault h.mixer.
I didnt know any normals built v meter. Or is it crush counters in general that adds v meter? Ill add this in. Thnx.

Rashis has alot of ways to stay inside tho where as other characters may wind up back in neutral. Add in whirlwind to check buttons and u may be able to walk back in. Or fish with max distance cr.hp for crush counters. I realized this was critical to making rashid more of a threat. Being able to combo from it is huge. He not stubby at all to me lol.
I like vega alot. I dont know if he does anything that rashid cant do. He just does more damage off similar situations i feel. And his wall dive is legit. I feel like if i have to play someone else its cause of the players or character defense too stronk and i cant win enough situations to get big damage. Vega command grab does force your opponents hand more. And he’ll land super more. Im still thinking about wats a good backup.
I feel u should have a backup with a vreversal that attacks/does gray life. Also a command grab to open opponent up more OR character with good keep game that chips away at ur opponent.
One change that I think would help Rashid out a lot and still be very fair is if his EX fireball hits once, the rest of the hits are guaranteed. That would make his EX fireball combos and pressure much more consistent and threatening.
does anyone have a stick with rashid art?? haven’t seen any posted
Rashid would be played a lot more if he could close out rounds as quickly as Mika.
If you get lp mixer to end on the last hit, is it + frames?
The three versions of lp mixer:
If you press LP once, you get 3 hits, 60 damage/stun, and you are +0/-2 on hit/block.
If you press LP twice, you get 5 hits, 70 damage, 96 stun, and you are +1/-5 on hit/block.
If you press LP three times, you get 7 hits, 80 damage, 128 stun, knockdown on hit, and -10 on block.
Rashid would be played a lot more if he could close out rounds as quickly as Mika.
Rashid would be OD if he could close out rounds as fast as Mika lol. Rashid got a fireball, an ex DP, great anti airs in general and crazy v-trigger mix-ups. I’m honestly happy with Rashid. I think he’s fine. His damage off lights suck but his mixups, pressure potential and counter hit damage are really strong aspects of Rashid.
If I could change one thing about Rashid is give his enhanced or v-trigger enhanced spinning mixer different versions and frame data. I think it was kinda lazy how they did it. Like for example, they could of let Rashid have his medium spinning mixer enhanced. You know how godlike that would be? Fast full screen anti-air in v-trigger? Lol. And maybe they could of did something cool to the heavy one, like make it slower than the light version but instead of it being 0, it could be like +2. They made him nice and agile which I like, but he’s high risk not so high reward with how alot of Rashid’s play him.
If you get lp mixer to end on the last hit, is it + frames?
No. It just pushes you out. It might be safe.
Does anyone know the frame data for after Ex WWS if the tornado hits 1/2/3 times? Midscreen and corner?
I was playing a buddy and I would Crmk -> EX WWS -> Roll and would get jabbed every time. This includes 1/2 hits on the tornado.
crmk is a pretty terrible button to cancel into exwws from as it doesn’t give a lot of hit/block stun. Because of that you can get punched inbetween hitting the medium kick and having the tornado come out pretty easily. For the tornadoes if he gets all three he will be plus, if he only gets two he’s zeroish plus or minus a frame. It’s much easier getting all the hits of whirlwind in the corner than it is midscreen. midscreen you will have to late roll to get the third hit of ex wws. I also believe your are much more plus in the corner as I’ve been plus enough to wiff a grab off of blocked corner ex wws > roll.
Does anyone know if Rashid is plus once he dashes in after a successful jump or V-skill Ex.Eagle Strike hit?
I noticed every time I do it and if the opponent quick rise I’m able to get a meaty St.MP. Sometimes I would just throw out St.HP and luck up with CC.
