Why don’t I see Rashid’s use stmk? I think it is easily his best footsie poke. Yet I don’t think I see anyone use it. It’s really my go to and you can combo on counter hit (+2 on hit -2 on block).
In use it alot, hits them out of the air if they go to jump, I do use chp alot more tho
Its a great poke but its definitely not his best footsies tool IMO. I think cr. HP is. I believe cr. HP reaches farther than st. MK, plus the first hit is cancelable, and 2nd hit is a CC for easy damage. I like st. MK alot tho, perfect for those shimmy situations where you wanna hit them with vtrigger into super.
stMK reaches farther than the first hit of crHP and comes out a frame faster; the second hit of crHP goes farther, but that’s not until frame 12.
The one significant advantage stMK has is the way it moves you forward; you can toss it into pressure at various points to control where you are spaced, and you have a 4f normal that reaches farther than most 6f normals, so this spacing makes it really easy to bait people into things.
Crhp bugs me because it’s -2 on block. Seeing as its a CC, I’m fine with that. But surprisingly, it’s not a move I like to throw out.

He also heavily depends on meter to get…decent damage imo unlike Ryu and Necalli who both hit like a truck. I wouldn’t say never. I remember many said the same for Gen (miss that old man) grant he had to get buffs.
His moves being -2 actually works out in higher levels of play. If you have a bar, they have to think about ex spinning mixer. Then they gotta worry about getting grabbed for that shit. Just a few days ago, I shimmied a poor bastard from doing something like st. MP, cr. MK xxx L Spinning Mixer then walk back. Of course he tried to tech lol.
Rashid is one of the few characters that can meaty someone off of anything. Use this to your advantage. cr. HP is -2 right? High level players will take note of your frequency of that button, know its -2, and try to take the match over again. Well after a L spinning mixer then dash, instead of that cr. HP, grab them on wake up.
No, the problem I have with being -2 on everything is footsies. I can’t threaten EX mixer after every blocked poke. He has to give up initiative constantly in order to get anywhere. If he had good damage or stable pressure that would be fine, but outside of the corner he simply doesn’t.
The only time I think about the Ex. mixer 50/50 gimmick is when I fight other Rashid players. Not something I like to do. I rather use st,lk, grab, block, or walk back.
Does anyone know how + you are after each knockdown? If not I’ll spend today figuring it out.

When it comes to footsies, I feel like you definitely shouldn’t worry about frame data like that. Its all spacing. And also think about it. Rashid’s longest normals are negative, just like most of the cast. Honestly that only makes sense.
And yeah I also think its a bad idea to EX mixer after a poke. I do it sometimes after f+mp because I have a sense of when people don’t respect me and when they do usually. But overall its a bad idea.
After CEO, I stopped using cr. HP so much. I started doing meaty st. Lk. Its just so much better for Rashid’s rushdown game. You can go into one of your set ups enhanced setups from it or tick throw or shimmy. Not to mention on counter hit you get pretty decent damage. And its plus on block. Why not switch it up between cr. Hp and st. Lk?
