Looks like a mix of rolento and el fuerte, gameplay wise. Visually he doesn’t look a joke like Fuerte.
He seems very chaotic and hard to pin down, i know a lot of people hate that stuff. I’ll probably atleast try him out.
Nemo already has found his character it seems in Rashid.
He seems pretty interesting and fun, and I’m indifferent on the design.
I’m curious though, look at the trailer, specifically at 0:32 and 0:35, you see him drastically increase his jump speed mid-jump. I’m suspecting jumping through the tornado has this effect. He very clearly has a command jump, which he uses a few times as a dive kick, and another time to attach himself to a wall. Specifically every time you hear him say “Yahoo” he is doing his command jump, or so I suspect.
Overall, he looks like a character I would tinker around with, and certainly looks like he’ll be running gimmicks for days upon the first few months of the game’s launch.
The tools he has in the trailer make him seem like a very solid character that’s for sure. I expect a lot of aegis kind of mixups with that tornado v-trigger. Gives me some guy and fei long vibes for some reason.
Need to see more about his V Trigger but so far Rashid doesn’t seems to be reminiscent of Urien at all to discount the latter. If anything, Rashid reminds me of Kung Lao with that rushdown and spin moves.
Yep, a little too much stereotype but still better than the SF4 or SF2 ones. About the maximum goofiness acceptable for this game.
We had a chance to speak with Ono-san about this big announcement and what kind of research went into creating this character. He said that it was a challenge at first to figure out how this character looks and what kind of moves would be suited to him as Capcom does not have many Middle Eastern employees. But they worked closely with Sony and their Middle Eastern distributor Pluto Games and with their help they were able to make a character everyone would be happy with.
He can knockdown in corner and then v-trigger on you.
That’s pretty much Urien’s Aegis game. Unblockables are something extra which rely on your opponent not knowing how to deal with them, or your opponent making a mistake midscreen.
Since v-trigger is a cancel too even if you roll you would wake up in it. So if he has some overhead/low options which are good whether by command normals or even just a funky jump/special he can essentially do what Aegis does.
We don’t know enough about all his specifics to say, but from what we have seen what I am describing is entirely possible.
He sounds like Super Mario when Mario does jumps in SM64. “Yahoo” I’m just waiting for him to win, start dashing away like Guy, and say “Let’s-a go!” Other than that, I think he reminds me of Juri and Ibuki. I wonder if his roll is his v.skill? Also, for the dumb ass complaining about his feet spinning but not his upper body. Watch the fucking vid. His feet are clearly in place as he floats and it’s the tornado that hits the character.
