I get more of an El Fuerte vibe from him than C.Viper. Main reason I like C.Viper is that like Ibuki, she’s like an anime character in a footsies game. Super jump cancels, feint cancels, basically doing a bunch of cancels changes the way their moves work and the trajectory of some of their attacks. Rashid seems more straightforward than that. His movement is very El Fuerte ish where he can be on one of the of the screen or the other very quickly. Which is cool just, not really my style either.
Been playing Rachid for the past 10m.
BnB I’ve been using is st.mp cr.mk spin (need to be relatively close for the cr.mk to connect)
Besides that, been trying to find out some fancy resets with CC HK, and a normal cancelled to his V-skill (roll and jump), and so far, no luck.
Hows everyone using his V-skill? Mix up or cross up? Or corner pressure?
I feel like its going to be use as Sims fireball, do V-skill jump over behind the opponent, then follow up with a combo?
Thankfully, he has a special cancelable cr.mk. So we all good.
cr.Mk xx QCF+LP (no mashing) seems safe on bock tested in training mode), same with st.HP xx QCF+LP.
If your opponent is trying to mash light DP (Ken’s), cr.mk xx QCB+LK will beat out the DP.
His V-Trigger can be comboed into, including some normals that aren’t necessarily special cancelable. That said, the only thing that seems to work as a follow up is spinning mixer.
Can anyone make a combo video like they did with the other characters? He’s actually the most interesting newcomer IMO and I’d like to see what he’s capable of pre-release.
I terms of raw damage, EX mixer is probably best, but there’s a bit more timing required to get all the hits to connect. EX eagle spike however only loses out about 4 damage.
EDIT: Just figured out that the abve applies only when starting from cr.mk. EX spike does more damage when starting from either f+mp 92 hits) or st.HP.
