Dat eye thogh

Weirded me out at first too. Probably the lack of context you’d normally get from seeing his other eye. The scouter’s blocking it, so it looks funny

Or maybe it’s intentional and he actually closes his eye to look at you via his scouter

“Lets see what your power level is…nah, doesn’t matter, mine’s higher”

Coming from someone who said THIS:

That’s possible. Of course, you’d then have to accept that he’s only interested in your power level if he wins while on the left side. Because if he’s on the right…

His whirlwind v-trigger thing does different stuff than aegis.
It moves… A LOT. It is very tall. It allows him to move super fast. It pressures just not for as long.

But it’s still the same idea. Once people are used to the timing of it, an aegis which moves that fast and that far is actually really scary. aegis moves just a little bit after its placed.
because of this he can move with it which is really different than aegis and you can’t jump out once it’s close enough because it’s so tall.

Just like Urien it’s all about the high/low mixup once it closes in. You don’t want to wait until it’s hitting them to start pressuring. I never saw anyone use it and then overhead or poke low as it was getting closer. That’s how you force someone to mess up, then the whirlwind hits and you can combo into whatever you want. You don’t need literal pressure hitting you or unblockables, it’s mental pressure. As long as you have overheads and lows that is a strong v-trigger and the movement bonuses and distance it covers are bonus which open up nifty ways for him to use it in neutral and defensively (like EX aegis kind of).

So is EX Spinning Mixer an actual DP? Like does it have invincibility.

fantastic addition to the SF family! I cant wait to play him!

Do we know if he has any notable lows? His overhead game seems way on point so he has that half covered, I’m just interested if any of his lows are good enough to mix it up. Probably a standard cr.MK type.

It probably doesn’t really matter how good his lows are so long as they combo into the Tornado (so he can combo out of it) and are unreactable. But they don’t seem terrible from the footage we’ve seen

Cr.lk and cr.mk both seem to have decent range but are not cancellable IIRC. But I don’t think that will matter since Rashid VT will combo into it

As they said the comboability is irrelevant just like with Urien.
He can use a low short to get the job done.

The other thing is he can just walk up and throw too. Since they don’t want to stick out a limb at all, or even bait a throw whiff.

It’s a very powerful v-trigger. If you’ve never played a solid Urien or just don’t play 3S really, you’re in for a shock. It’s a very uncomfortable situation and the fact that his v-trigger moves forward so much and so quickly makes it much stronger than aegis for pressure since you can actually stand in it and poke at them or threaten throw, overhead, low, which is something urien doesn’t usually do, though his lasts longer or has more hits. Not sure how many hits Rashid’s v-trig is but aegis is 6 hits I think before it breaks and i don’t remember the amount of time it stays active if not hitting anything.

Also you can’t destroy Rashid’s v-trig though it seemed like if you hit Rashid it disappears.

cr.mk is cancellable

Yah that English voice was awesome

I told you if you wanted to continue talking to me about this to do it privately. No need to call me out in public, habibi. Especially since a post like this only proves my point.

The only combo I’ve seen so far is df.hp,s.mp xx special.

None of his DPs are suscetible to crush counter, which makes me believe they’re not invincible at all, except for EX.

V-trigger sends them on a spinning knockdown. I think only EXs will combo in this state.

His critical art is a good antiair.

V-skill cannot switch sides, which is a bummer. Also, it’s not invulnerable to fireballs for the entire duration (saw Ken’s fireball hit him during the roll towards the later frames).

V-skill is really good to avoid jump ins.

If you v-trigger on their wakeup, you don’t recover in time for a mixup. It’s indeed a lot like Decapre’s ultra (moves forward relatively fast and if you do it at a good enough distance you can squeeze in a high/low/left/right mixup.

V-reversal works the same as Nash’s, but travels much farther. Like 3/4 of the screen, it’s insane and I don’t think anyone can punish that. Since it’s not a hit they can’t even bait it, specially if you do the v-reversal OS.

His overhead seems to be airborne.

During the WSO sessions, nobody was able to punish his condorspire kick on block. However, I feel dash forward punish should be possible and in the Karin reveal trailer they show her punishing with a cr.mk xx special, so either they reduced the pushback on that or Karin’s cr.mk is extremely godlike.

Overall I think Rashid isn’t the character I was hoping for (rushdown, mixup heavy, aggressive character). I think he’s optimally played as a frustrating runaway character that would be a perfect fit for Infiltration, for example, and like Decapre/Rolento.

He has a ton of damage from abare (his divekicks and the condor spire do very good damage, more than a DP for sure) and very little combo and hitconfirm potential, his fireball is tricky to get around, he’s ridiculously mobile (between his “super jump”, wall jump v-reversal and v-skill you will never be able to corner him). We’ll see once I finally get to try him out.

Dunno if it has been said, just in case anyway:
Rashid can run like a KOF char, while running his qcf.P can be done as f.P and qcf.K as f.K

Man, Rashid reminds me of Urien. He can put up a tornado wall like Urien’s aegis.
