Because I’ve hit a plateu that I haven’t been able to pass for nearing 3 months…going on 4. Only having access to PS3 controller for learning execution doesn’t help especially when it comes to:
- kara throwing
- plinking
- double-tapping
- both L2+R2 buttons, which are “bouncy”, can’t hit them fast/repeatedly
- the access of having the face buttons
- less lag-to-system
- worst of all, the preciseness of direction inputs (i’ve played on the 360 controller, the evil controller, both sticks, custom sticks and PS3 controller) and while the PS3 is probably the best controller I’ve used or thing next to the stick, it just doesn’t cut it as I realize more and more how the stick is just too good
Also lack of tournament player competition meaning the advanced/evolving tactics and set-ups+naunces that might be so common I could see & counter–while I can compensate by going deep deep into training mode, it’s a big set-back, considering I need to learn my matchups and work on execution (on a controller), plus learning stick for 360 one/two days a week.
Call it QQ’ing? Maybe. I quit until SSF4, just going to play for fun. Cody, and hopefully Makoto should help me enjoy the game.

Obviously you didn’t get the hint in the last row of posts when you decided to “quit” and inform the whole board, NO ONE CARES WHAT YOU ARE GOING TO DO! Just fucking do it. I can’t emphasize enough how much 90% of the people on this board don’t wanna hear, “I’m gonna do A, B, and C cause I need more practice, blah, blah, blah, Wah I’m quitting.” We’re not you’re mother, we’re not gonna say, “Yes dear, you should do that,” or, “No dear, keep at it.” If you want advice on characters, play techniques, match-ups, etc, people will most assuradley give you advice if you ask for it, or at least point you in the right direction. But we are not your security blanket and this is not your journal, if you want one of those go create a livejournal account.
