hmm maybe I under estimated the match up a little bit TOO much. It is one of striders better fights along with MSS compared to s\d vs matrix. I should of said it like that.

even if my sent gets nuked, ill risk a counter call doom for a free strider activation and do 70% to him off one bar. Maybe even 100% off a meter if I get what I always try.:sweat:

edit: these guys are cool with me and i have respect…but anytime that anyone on the planet wants to money match me vs their strider/doom…I’m game.

I don’t know about you, but I have a lot of trouble with Commando assist. I don’t know how many times I’ve activated orbs off of Sentinel drones + a ground chain, confident that I’ve got enough block stun to get the trap going, only to hit by Commando at point blank. Maybe I’m not positioning myself correctly or whatever, but that shit hurts.

I got strategies this time tho Clock. I’m also not a crazy money match player for like 1000 plus but we can get down(50$ chase to 5 at the next tourney we meet up at), you’re the main strider i wanna play anyways.

I’m not stuck on any certain bet or # of games, i’m all ears for a challenge.

yea once mag dies its all about sent/cable and teching out into cable to get strider off of you with that team it involves 100% awareness and smart tags. when i play a s/d and it gets my magnus down a bit than i start getting characters in and out in all types of ways making strider waste meter on different characters so that i still have a fighting chance with each character.

Yeah i reread it and it makes sense the 50/50. Anyways i have some technical questions that still remain kinda blurry

  1. When u throw the bird or HK Bomb and Storm hailstorms … sometimes the bird/bomb knocks her out of it or sometimes it doesn’t. Is there a condition to this or is it just random shit.

  2. Does strider’s c.HP beat cable/cyclops jumping HK ? I’m too scared to try it out in a match …

  3. Does anyone have that Clockwork thread saved on their pc with the strider corner game tactics … that thread was golden but now its gone and i remember it had interesting stuff clock was talking about regarding wake ups after a corner combo and how opponents mash assist and how to counter call or wtv and various gimmicks i was too lazy to read …

  1. Strider doesn’t have anything that stops hail storm. Bomb will knock strom when she dhcs IN and bird only stops her when it gets to her before the hail hits or AS the hail is taking place. Pretty tough to time.

however, you can always bird\dog and as long as you throw it out before she throws a typhoon your safe. Its only when she anticpates an animal that you eat a typhoon hail for that.

striders orbs do go through hail but in that scenario rarely happens. Good to know when it does happens though because its a free trap pattern.

The time she activates hailstorm, is the same time you throw out the bird.
It’s not too hard to predict when they’re just running away from you

marvel is team based. Just throwing the bird when she’s going up isn’t a strategy since assists are a big part of this game and assists stop striders bird pretty clean. Its a great projectile but not when you match it up against hail\assists.

strider has no options against hail storm. well he has one but the bird\bomb isn’t it. The best way to actually stop hails are to prevent them from happening. Staying mobile, baiting assists close to the opponent. Theres alot you can do but staying mobile seems to work for me. Teleporting on the same side with as an anticpation rush down counter is pretty good. It doesn’t back fire if you know what you’re doing and your always in a good position for a counter attack.

staying mobile is probably the best way to avoid the whole defensive problem with strider. He doesn’t have an AA on his squad so he has to try to work with what he gots. If you’re never pinned down, you have more freedom to do what you like or harass with a trap pattern here or there. A good side note to staying mobile against storm is that her bait tactics becomes 3x harder for her to actually use.

Try getting hit against Psylocke when you teleport to the same side when Storm is about to go up and hail you in the face.

Block it and get rushed even faster if you were on the other side of the screen.
I like Strider/Sentinel

strider really can’t do shit about alot of storms good set-ups into hail vs him, baaaaaaaaaad match-up when the storm learns the fight well…

he gets mauled by typhoons =/
