ahoy. some interesting stuff going on in this thread. I see shoult is keeping it as alive as always. heh

impressive vids.

crouch teleport tricks

Primarily, this is only going to work against cable for the most part.

The original method I suppose is inputting an srk from crouch w\o strider’s sprite going to stand. The hardest part about this is buffering out the back motion from the input so you basically have to do it lightning fast.

c.lk wiff cancel

I was fucking around with this last night. The original method is quite hard to do mid game, not only do you have to input it lightning fast, you also have to pay attention to the game and when you’re in the clutch of a game, in can throw you off if it isn’t mastered.

With the c.lk buffer, you can remain in crouch to dodge gun x4 w\o accidently inputting the back to slow which causes him to stand into the gun x4. There are a few tricks to get this to work right though.

Since you want to wiff cancel off the c.lk, you have to take into consider where the fuck up will be. In this case, its the qcb+lk or reverse srk+lk. It can easily be negative edged into this wiff cancel because of the speed of the srk input. That can really put a dent into strider if not kill him. So to sidestep that problem you must hold c.lk to ensure that no negative edge will be allowed.

The input looks like hit c.lk and hold, wiff cancel into lp\fp teleport, let go of lk. I use 2 fingers to do this properly but w\e works for you.

its vital to know that the c.lk will hold you in place for a brief amount of time before the teleport happens so pick a nice spot where you don’t think they will counter you.
**
alternate wiff cancels:**

c.lp\c.rh will work too but i’m not a big fan of the c.lp because I may need to use that button to teleport. C.rh hangs out too long especially if you were to fuck up the input. If I fucked up the c.lk, it retracts much quicker than a wiffed c.rh.

I find it difficult to practice the crouch teleport with the original method. The input is pretty quick and has to be on point. Any slight error in it can lead to a wall climb or a wiffed fp if you were planning to go that side.

dude!!

Good shit

cool. i’ll try that one when i have the time.

I might be visiting the Philippines in a few months, wheres the most popular place to play street fighter?

also, can I buy a chicken and train it to be in a cock fight? i’m gonna inject some steroids into my chicken and turn it into a mutant lol

That’s cool. I’m actually from the southern part of the philippines, not much i can say, we have a lot of good players though. i’ll try to find some vids if i have time.
If you want to play street fighter (Third Strike?), try visiting metro manila. you could try to visit the Philippine Thread in the World: Discussion and Matchmaking section.

with regards to the chicken --> LOL. yeah, cockfights, it’s kinda popular on some areas here. idk what to say, i’m really not a fan of those.

anyhow. random question, what’s the timing for the hk bomb XX ouroborous? i can’t seem to execute it consistently. thanks.

when strider does the bomb, he’ll do this little hand pose to summon it. Thats when you cancel.

Its hard to do a that bomb into orbs w\o practice. I actually had to train for that cancel for a while before it became natural. When I have a hard time with a move like that, I sit in training mode and just keep doing it till it becomes muscle memory.

:rofl::rofl::rofl::rofl::rofl::rofl::rofl::rofl::rofl::rofl::rofl::rofl:

unfly rooster

get the fuck off my unfly rooster. He’s going crazy. If I ever go back to the philippines, I will buy a rooster and train that mother fucker to be in fight. chickenzula is going 50-0 easy lol

I did a wall climb today when I was in the air which doesn’t work. If it ever happens again, it could mean that strider can do grounded moves in the air somehow. Which would eventually lead too activating orbs in the air maybe.

strider has untapped glitchiness

galaga fighter:wasted:

gambit has a similar glitch where he does a trick card in the air. both moves have the same commands. maybe they’re related?

can you go into further detail about this glitch and how its done?

lol… gotta see that chicken do rocket punch

i’ve tried that crouching teleport thingy a while back. it’s kinda useful i think but it’s somehow very hard to pull of consistently. and yeah, i still have a hard time doing the hk bomb XX orbs.

the crouch teleport is a part of striders gameplay that needs to be mastered against cable. Part of cables trap are gun patterns and if you try to NJ all the time to get out, you can fuck up and get shot. The crouch teleport is basically used to dodge cables gun patterns to force cable into many situations where he can’t gun your ass. It takes away one of his best zoning tools. The input is rather tricky w\ the way I mentioned but trying to crouch teleport and buffering out that back w\ just joystick motion is even harder. Basically, its the lesser of 2 evils. You’re going to have to learn one or the other.

hmm, the bomb wasn’t easy for me to learn. Charging for a sonic boom then immediately doing an orb cancel w\o doing the grab super wasn’t easy as I recall. Thinking back on it, my first few days trying it were very bad. I couldn’t get it to cancel and when I did, 80% of the time it would be a damn grab super. Theres a real fine line between the orbs because if you mash it out too fast, its grab super. If you do it too slow, you don’t get a cancel.

when strider throws the bomb, he always makes this “humph” sound. Try activating the very second you hear that, or anticpate the “humph” and cancel it out on the sound frames. I had a trick to it to help me cancel it all the time but I only used it to train my muscle memory. The cancel is muscle memory for me now so I forget the trick that I had to learn it.

if your still having trouble after all that, watch any capable s\d player video with a bomb cancel in it and look for a visual confirm or sound confirm when the bomb is performed to help you out.

I learned the bomb cancel relatively quickly, but it depends on what your practicing on. Joystick it’s easier for me. Just the fact you can put your whole hand/arm motion into doing a charge motion into qcf really helps. But on pad, I’ve never really been able to do it consistently without getting grab super. But when I break down the motion to do it I always forced myself back into neutral before going qcf which helped lower the chances of a grab super.

Anyway, if you going to attempt bomb cancels in practice matches and so forth always better to have that bomb come out and no orbs than no bomb with orbs.

so how did the strider players do for evo?

couple of clockw0rk vids to watch if u haven’t already, checked around thread and no links were posted to them so …

Duc VS Clockw0rk @evowest 2k7

anyone who was at evo world this year can tell me how was the match of clock vs sanford ? finishing short of the top 8 and losing to sanford twice, clockw0rk’s a beast :badboy:

hmm, I wonder if duc picked another team because doom assist counters spirals trap pretty well.
