Rally Point: Gameworks

A very good point. I’m down for the sharing of time cards when needed but he whole plot against them thing is kinda cheesy. I don’t have a yob and I slapped 10 bux on my card last time I was there. Show gameworks that the fighting game scene can make them money, and they’ll continue to care.

and like Pablo said, it’s not like you even get enough turns to spend more than five bucks a night.

You guys are better people than me. Fuck gw, I’m been sharing timecards for hella. They had a year to make their money off that broken cabinet. Finially they realized how to fix the overheating issue after basically a year?lol. While the time cards are passing hands which has always been on the LOW, with the exception of a few clowns that aren’t slick at all, we should all request SSIV through their website. Extra early this is GW were talking about.

I don’t bother with the unlimited cards I just threw 50$ on a gamecard a while back and I still haven’t used it all. Though I have used someones timed card a few times if they offered. You really aren’t going to be spending a lot of money, especially on Thursday nights, I think the most I played on a Thursday night was like 3-4 times.

All I’m gonna say is that it takes about 5 seconds to make a game not accept time play cards.

And about 2 brain cells to want to do this when a manager sees 20 people deep at a cabinet all night and the same card used over and over again on the meter reports.

Card sharing can get you and whoever you are with banned from the venue permenantly. Not passing judgement here, just giving you the straight facts.

Good lord. I can feel the emotion through the screen. If we aren’t gonna get our ten dollars worth, then what’s the problem with a bunch of people putting up a dollar and sharing a time card? So it’s either, spend money on your normal GW card and not even getting to play any signficant amount of games due to rotation size. OR, put up a dollar or two for a time card and play the same amount of games for a smaller amount of money.

The choice seems simple.

Do people appreciate the new games? Sure they do. People are always playing SFIV and Tekken 6. I even see people playing TvC. I don’t really see people playing Blazblue, and before I played KOF XII there last Monday, I’m pretty sure that’s the last time someone’s played that game while I was there. Are we spending money there on days where time cards aren’t available? Sure we are. People are at GW more than this forum would suggest. Didn’t they put a win streak limit on SFIV not too long ago? LOL. Cmon. And with all the cloudiness behind the arcade version of SSFIV, even if it DID drop, I can’t exactly say I would expect GW to get it. And yes Nolan, that is how I’d like to repay them, those sticks? Man, don’t get me started.

Share cards imo. Half the people who post in this thread barely go to gw on a reg basis anyways and I agree with future and deezo. And f their drink prices me and future be on that co op beer mission lol

For all the nights out of the week people are there already playing SFIV with their own respective cards, I don’t see a problem with saving everybody as it has been said, $4 extra dollars…For only THREE HOURS!!! Time cards can only be purchased at 9 pm, and guess what I and everybody else will be doing before 9 pm? Using our own cards and not sharing games.

This is only 3 hours out of 7 days in the week, it has nothing to do with being cheap.

We are doing this to have fun by sharing games. That’s the whole point of everybody chipping in to play for only a dollar. Answer me this; Would you really want to use 4 credits out of your card to share a game with a friend of yours if you lost because of your partner? Maybe you would be willing on a good day but the general answer from all of us would be fuck no. But for only a dollar, we can all have fun for that 3 hours, goofing off using different characters and sharing games with people you know.

We’re just trying to provide incentive for more people to come out and play SFIV in a fun and different way. This means more business in the long run for GWs. Cuz the more we all hang out together and play games, the more likely it will be for people to make plans for meeting up the next time, which will bring more of us back.

So it’s all good! Now can we just all have fun tomorrow night and stop stressing about GW’s business? Shit. I’d be willing to talk to GW’s management if it made any of you happier. Live a little.

I know if I put up a dollar, and my “teammate” lost w/o fronting half of that…I’d be pissed.

Oy. Shitty day at work (like most of this week) will be going down to blow off some steam. Maybe see some cats there.

Im actually gonna b down there tonight. Im getting my haircut down in that area, i might as well stop by for a lil bit

Don’t you think that if they REALLY cared, they would’ve done something by now? I get enough beer to justify sharing the card, especially if it’s only for 4~5 matches a night on IV. Also I’ve been screwed over before where I purchased a time card since it wasn’t working as a time card and I didn’t notice until someone I shared the card with pointed it out to me. I went back to the stand and they changed it to time, but they didn’t refund the credits I used. With that said I’m 100% for sharing time cards. It’s not like we’re using them as efficient as possible, since we could swipe every 80ish seconds to keep boosting credits.

I’ll be honest, but GW gotta get that skrill if we ever expect them to get SSF4 cabinets.

I agree with Nolan, but if I’m broke, I will not turn down the Time Card generosity.

I never turn down a free credit. I’m just saying realize that they ARE looking for this. And you WILL be

  1. warned, which increases the manager on duty checking the group…

then if it continues (even on different occasions)

  1. banned.

Seems silly and corny, but it is what it is. I buy a shitload of over-priced beer at the local corner store, but I never once feel like I’m doing the business a favor by shopping there and start shoplifting chips.

IMO…IMHO…take it AS YOU WILL but…there is a time in your life when you have to grow up.

dont talk about it, be about it.

this debate about sharing time cards just put the plan on blast. even though gw doesnt have anyone that religiously reads srk they have known about timecard sharing since the birth of the timecard.

all im saying is, if you were gonna do it then you shouldnt put it on the internet. that goes for you too jeff you should delete that post.

:confused:MmmmmMMMm…:wtf:

…busted…Ima try to roll through tomorrow.

i finally see why mandel won’t play on that cab anymore…i have so much to say but its not worth posting on this gross ass thread.

There is nothing wrong with with trying to save a few bucks, it’s just that when there are 80 nigs lined up and only one or two time cards show up they might get suspicious. They could easily replace all of those machines with Need for Speed:Ricer Edition.

Or even worse, 3 more top skater machines.

lol then say good bye to all those 80 nigs who make them money + all the food/drinks they buy. “oh please take the cab away!”
