Rally Point: Gameworks

Ah come on, whatever happened to a good challenge?!
Consider it a test of your ability to play solid rather than your ability to adapt to a specific player.

I understand what you mean about wanting to spend 3 out of 5 rounds to really have a deep match with an opponent. That shit works like an extended conversation between players. There is a communication between both players and their characters translated through game play. And I could see how interrupting that conversation to have someone else cut in seems rough.

However, I say if it is only for once a week on Thursday nights when we are passing a time card around and you get to play till closing for only a dollar, why not mix it up? Why not challenge your skills by breaking habits and learning to adapt to a new situation? I find it thrilling to play the games that I love in new and innovative ways. Try it out some more, the point is to have fun. We can all have more serious matches on any other night of the week.

I’m down with sharing any character with anybody on my turns. So if you want to be my partner when it’s my turn to play, just tell me who you want to use and I’ll pick that character. Then I’ll give you the next round and we continue take turns for nothing more than shits n’ giggles. Let’s all not just live a little, but let us live a little differently from time to time. It’s healthy for ya, or at least that’s what I want you to believe, mwhahaha. ; ).

I dunno, maybe I’m too traditional in my arcade play. I have money down on this, I want my chance to beat my opponent, not some mortal kombat survival mode madness. I really hate playing for money in any form, so on top of the awkard gameworks sticks it feels like I’m getting robbed. I guess I could look at it like 3 seperate one round matches. It’s not that big of a deal, it’s just weird to me. I would feel better about if you guys would actually physically tag. You should get DQ’d for not tagging your tag team partner.

We need to practice some time man, I mean shit we both live in Edmonds, and you play my archnemesis character. And I play everyone, so if you need random matchup experience…

tag team doesnt bother me. me and tanaka do viper switch up! lol

Fucking with like…no MP or Chakra expense either…your summoning abilities are crazy…it’s like you equipped W-Summon materia too because it seriously seemed like you made ALL the zombies come out within seconds…thats how powerful of a summoner you are…

Fucking ridiculous summoning abilities.

I’m comin’ out to gameworks on thursdaaaay.

josh clowns the shit out of homeless people ahahahahah

i like this tag match idea mainly cuz i hate waiting 30min to play

People should pre-partner up!

Who plays what characters? And who is willing to play somebody else’ character? I already announced that I’m willing to partner up with anybody and play any character.

Other players announce who you use and are willing to use so people can have an idea who they might wanna tag with.

ill use

viper or akuma. wish cammy was there =(

I’ll play any character, not well, but will still play them. I enjoy Blanka, Fuerte, and long walks on the Charge-character beach.

Dunno if ill make it out thursday yet, but if I do I tend to play Chun, Ryu, Sagat…I can kinda play Balrog, Viper, and I have some limited experience with the rest of the cast.

I don’t know if summoning the dead though is as much a summoner’s abilities as it is a necromancer skill. Making such powerful summoning has to take a lot of MP, he just probably has so much experience that the use of that much MP was made to LOOK effortless. If something that strong costs 50 MP it ain’t nothing when you have 5000 MP total. It’s like his bnb by now. It would be the equivalent of you and me spending 15 cents to cast a spell, that’s just how Super, Joe really is.

I’m such a weak caster right now…I just hope I have enough MP to summon enough fools for Thursday Night Tag Matches.

Damn you super joeeeeeeee!!!

I’ll trade with any Rufus or Balrog. I can do a lil Vega too (looks at ThaiVega).

“OH DUDE HE’s RIGHT THERE!!!l!”

Yelled so loud we hear him INSIDE hk…even after all these years Super Joe still amazes me.

The team up idea is tight, but since I’m still putting the slut out on the corner, I probably will be @ tekken 6 more than sfiv :(, but we’ll see cause the tekken kids are REALLY good at pissing me off lol

hey dugg you wanna akuma team up?

no frank it really is 15 cent. he then does a countdown from .14 cents down to whatever as he marches/claps following you and tells you about his ministry. you would imagine somebody askin for 50 cents before 15 but hey, thats how a zombie do…need…chaaaaaaaaaaange

Carlos: Sure.

And I think yeah if we’re rocking a time-card the switch off should be mad fun. Just must be ninja-like. Drunken ninja-like.

Alright, first things first. Everybody who wants to play we’ll all meet at the cabinets and everyone will throw down a dollar. Then someone can purchase the card at 9pm and we’ll just leave the card at the cabinet. If not that then we can do what I did last time, which was get up to swipe every player in with my time card even when I was just sitting and watching.

I don’t think it will be a problem so long as we are not obvious about everybody putting in a dollar hella loud and right in front of them. I’ll act as the collector if people are cool with that, and I’ll sneakily collect the dollars and purchase the card as to not bring any attention to exactly what we are doing.

No offense to anyone who is short on their finances or without a job or whatever, but is this really the direction you want to take with practically the only centrally located arcade left in the greater Seattle area? I mean, yes, GameWorks is a giant corporate entity operated on a for profit basis, doesn’t care about the little guy, etc, etc, I understand this argument. But iirc, they have recently been making an effort to cater to the fighting game community in Seattle, and this is how we want to repay them?

I won’t deny, I have gone to GW a couple times before without cash or a card and have asked for a swipe from someone who bought a time card. I’m sure everybody has. What I’m saying is that actually making plans to have some kind of covert operation to buy and share a free play card between 10 or more people just seems plain ungrateful. And we’re expecting GW to pay for a SSFIV cabinet come spring next year?

Listen, all I’m saying is if you can afford to pay for a few games of SFIV on Thursday (Lord knows you don’t have to buy a timecard. You probably won’t get your $10 worth anyways), then do so. If you can’t afford it, just show up. We’re all friends, and I’m sure somebody can get you for a few games.

Edit: When GW first bought the SFIV cab, they took away time card privileges on it because of abuse. Do we want that to happen again?

Word. Besides, they probably know how many times a particular time card was swiped. Once they know GGPO son cash only. Seriously, with that gross ass line of 80 people trying to play this slow ass game you will probably leave there spending $5 if you are lucky. That isn’t even the price of a beer.
