If I were you Stefan, I wouldn’t lift a finger to help anyone. No one wants your help here, so don’t give any. Let them have their SNK event and plan the whole thing themselves. Have a SF related event some other time. This isn’t worth the stress for anyone involved.
Again, I challenge someone anyone to post up a link to better venue with a price that will accomodate all the:
-SNK players
-SF players
-Smash players
That’s a pretty big group which calls for a bigger room. A Memphis sized room (where we had MM 2009) isn’t big enough, a large room is needed.

DEREK AND SHINOGI, WHAT WOULD MAKE YOU HAPPY FOR A VENUE AND FEE??? Be specific. Show everyone your plan for a more cost effective venue. I’m all for saving money. Dark Geese asked for help to find a venue once upon a time. Stefan stepped up to help. Did you? I’m guessing not since Geese picked Stefan’s venue rather then your fabled cheaper venue.

Better yet, maybe this should be a SF only event instead since it’s being run by a SF player. Is that what you guys want, separate events?

P.S. how about some facts and ideas rather then personal attacks and insults.

Seperate events is not the answer. That is not what anyone is suggesting. I agree that SFIV and Smash Brothers need to be there for the event to be successful. All I was saying is that it was supposed to be a SNK Event and it seems like that is no longer the focus.

I would be interested in helping to find a different venue but it was my understanding that the venue was already confirmed.

Yeah, I don’t think you want that to happen. As I can see, you already hate competition which is why you’re fucking up Raging Storm. And you don’t have to take any criticism because action speaks louder than words which is why your numbers are dwindling at your gatherings and tourneys lately because people are tired of your bullshit. Put it like this. If Dark Geese ain’t gonna be in the house, then there’s no fucking Raging Storm. I mean this is fucking ridiculous. This is the worst shit I’ve seen since Vince McMahon tried resurrect ECW. How the fuck is this Raging Storm with no DG, plus the main games being played are SF? Fuck that, I’m not going out there and waiting till 1:00 am to play my shit like the last time. We can all steady look for another venue, be we should all know that it’s pointless now because the shit is set in stone and what the Shogun wants, the Shogun gets so fuck him and his bullshit ass tournament. Fuck what Wes is talking about too. I’m out. It doesn’t matter to me. Either way, I can afford to go out of state and go to a REAL tourney and meet some REAL players with better attitudes like I did in St. Louis and Chicago.

  • First let’s cut back with the disrespect/insults. Cause that’s just a temporary fix, to what it seems like, an on-going problem. It solves nothing. It helps no one.

I agree with Wes, if you don’t like how things are ran. Do a better job, do it yourselve. DG and I are taking that approach, with our events that we’re running around the country. We may not be doing the most fantastic job…but damn it we’re trying. :smile:

  • Okay before we go any further, lemme just say this:

RAGING STORM IS NOT JUST FOCUSED AROUND SNK GAMES ANY LONGER!

I though I explained this earlier in the thread. And I really don’t wanna go over it again. But I will say this again…SNK GAMES ARE JUST AS IMPORTANT TO OUR EVENTS! BUT AS A COMPANY (think about that) WE DECIDED TO INCLUDE MORE GAMES AND VALUE THEIR IMPORTANCE!

The reason why Raging Storm is still called what it is, is because our operation (me and DG working together, me being hired into the company) started back at Devastation 2009. The title is to keep with tradition, and it holds weight (of some kind) to our events.

Okay moving on…

  • Stefan: It seems a lot of people aren’t too happy with the way you do things. I have received over 8 pms on the matter. And over 8 people’s names were mentioned, of who, would rather NOT see you have anything to do with the operations of this tournament. This is really putting me in a tough situation. Since I honestly don’t have a problem with you…but, the people who I received pms from…DO.

So here’s is what I’m going to do…

You (Stefan) can help me with registration and calling matches. Since that is a big job and I could definitely use the help. But you don’t have to help…and I don’t think it’s welcomed from the other players ( :sad: ), with running the brackets.

Or,

you can just show up, participate in the tourneys you wanna play…and enjoy yourself (cause I don’t give a fuck what anyone says, you…just like anyone else…are welcomed to come and play).

  • Final point to address is the venue. As for now the venue we have is gonna stick. But I am aware that Des and Werk are working on a new venue for us to go to. You guys I’d also like to add, DG and I are gonna need to be housed. But I think Stefan has us covered on that (right Stefan?).

Des and Werk, I gotta set a deadline in which I’m going to need your alternative venue finalized. So that date is April 2nd. (a Friday).

Alright well I hope I addressed everything. I, just like all of yous, really want this event to be successful. I’m coming to this regardless. I have to anyways. :smile: And I really want to encourage you all to show up and support your scene. :china:

Webster, I know that you’ve been put in a tough position. It seems that the vocal minority has said their piece, while the majority of people pay the consequences.

I’ve had a tough decision to make regarding this tournament’s timing in the first place. My brother is finishing up his masters degree in music performance at Indiana and he has his masters recital plus another big concert over the weekend of the 17th. Since I’d committed to help with this event, I told my family that I wouldn’t be able to attend. If you truly “won’t be needing my help” with this event, and especially if my presence is such a big deal to a select few people, then I think I’d probably rather make plans to see my brother’s concerts instead and wouldn’t attend at all.

Just know that after players are seeded (and separated by location), players are separated by location, then everyone else is randomized.

Sounds good, Digimon. You can check for the top players in the mnstreetfighter website in the results area. I don’t if it’s completely accurate, but it’s a good start. Also, we might have to start fresh on some games just because we never had a tourney for it yet, like KoF XI, 98 UM, 2k2 UM, or TvC. I don’t know if there’s even a ranking for the non-fighters like TSS or Magical Drop. You can ask DJ Delly about it. I’m sure he’ll think of something too.
