To reply, I don’t live in Chicago I live in Texas, and thus it is significantly quite the overhead for me to travel to Minnesota, thus I am considering for this time not doing it so I can see where the stacks fall when it’s all said and done, and if you all don’t meet me at this particular tournament depending on how it goes you more than likely will see me at the next one. I encourage everyone to come to this tournament when everything is finalized (location, date etc) to show your support because this will determine how many will happen throughout the year!
So the more of you that come the greater chance you will not only see me in person come the next time but that you will have more of these throughout the year! I will keep you all posted on any changes that happen as I find them out.
Koru- Until we find a good venue the SoCal tournament has to be TBA in regards to date, but it will happen, like Raging Storm El Paso did this year it happened, took a little longer than usual but it did happen.
There will be a Twinkle Star Sprites Tourney… If I have to hold it in a hotel room I will… i’m not coming back to MN for a Tourney and not putting my TSS champion title on the line.
Alright so seriously what’s the deal with the venue. I am getting all types of messages on AIM from Smashers who are curious if the venue is set in stone or not. And also…
OFFICIAL TOURNAMENT GAME LIST AND T.O’S FOR EACH GAME:
I know the last word is Dark Geese’s, but as far as I’m concerned, the time to choose venues is over. The Itasca Room will work out very well for a 1 day tournament with the amount of people expected. Other known alternatives wouldn’t. Two months ago would have been the time to look for alternative places to hold the event, not 1 month before it’s scheduled.
shut the fuck up, fuck u and your concerns the only thing you run is a whack con game!
Truth be told I shut your bullshit operation down from behind the scenes. Yeaah I said it! You know god damn well $ 600 is retarded . this event is beyond your personal preferences. This ain’t minnesota meltdown, the ppl are not coming out to see you. Everybody wants a crack at dark geese. I already told the mexican kof crew what’s up! So Mothafucka I suggest you check yourself!!!
Its an over priced hotel trying to stay afloat!
The location sucks, our city has more to offer than the industrial/trailer park area you suggested. As a matter of fact I will post some pictures of the hotel and surrounding area. There ain’t no bithces to look at or holla at.
No night scene.
You didn’t bother to shop around for deals.
Outside of the $600 space and offering to run the capcom games you ain’t said shit else. You knew there was an issue, instead of addressing it this happenend I gave you more than enough time to rectify the situation, and “lower case nigga” went over your "capital"head and said fuck it!
$300-450 should do the trick for a 2 day event.
Maybe if you traveled past iowa, you would understand why 2 day events are better. But your only thinking about you and what you want to have happen. So again shut the fuck up!
Get the Itasca room out of your head. Your ass is out!!!
As far as ragingstorm being a melting pot. It would only make it easier to Get capcom players to defect…I did when '98 came out.
Yo P! A quick left hook and a over hand right, a phat .44, some doja and a mic are my weapon of mass destruction and detectives know not to ask me nothing, I’m solid I spit the garlic, I drink dirty martini’s with spanish olives!
I also think KoF XII should be a main game played at the tourney being that it’s one of the top SNK games played in MN. However, I think the tourney should just be MM '10.
If you don’t like how people run their tournaments don’t show up or throw your own tournament.
$600 is expensive but the room is a proven commodity. Post up some cheaper comparable rooms and sure poeple would be all ears. Another thing I have to say is:
It’s not a crime if a tournament organizer makes a profit on a tournament.
I’m guessing profit probably doesn’t happen too often (or it’s minimal). The person that reserves the room is on the hook for the cost of the room and a potential damage to it. If they come up short from room fees collected from players, they lose money. If there’s extra money they should be rewarded for their time and the risk they inherit by setting up the event.
I don’t care who sets up the tournament. If you set up an event the time, place, and price work foor me, then I’m in.
Derek, why don’t you you set up a rival circuit of game tournaments since Stephan does it all wrong? The best way to beat someone (which is obviously what you want to do to Stephan) is to beat them at their own game.
Once again Wes, you’re talking out your ass!. Now if you knew what the fuck Raging Storm was all about and what’s been going on the last few months, your post would actually mean something. Also, you act like it’s fucking hard to throw a tournament or something. Anyone can do it. Try it sometime. First off, this is NOT Stefan’s tournament. This is Raging - Fucking - Storm! Ran by Digimon and Dark Geese.
What we are TRYING to do is promote SNK and make it ecomically feasible in order to put up everyone’s games they desire to play, plus get DG and Digimon out here at the same time to run it. Anything else will just be another fucking MNSF tourney. It isn’t about bitching how tourneys are being ran, it’s about control and power so your analysis is flawed. So if you don’t like the drama going on and people voicing their opinions to better the community, then you need to stay inside your box and let the REAL mutherfuckers TCB.
you don’t know what’s going on cuz you ain’t in the loop…fool. I see the shogun pm’d you cryn like a punk bitch, when you gonna stop taken orders and over your eyes?
How can someone who brings next to nothing to the battlefield talk so shit? You know that’s what really matters. Not some spoiled lil fat cheese head bastards hopes and dreams.
You steady spamming host your own shit, but you have not idea what’s going. Mothafucka you show up once every 3 months. So you can keep sitting your ass on the bench and yell from the sidelines cuz you ain’t even a factor.
Mr. “Its not my responsiblity to disclose tournament information to the community” did doing that secure a 1st place finish for you…no!
You need to be worried about the ass whippn your going to receive, for running your mouth so fucking much! Seeing you ice skate uphill makes me sad.
I find it SHADY AS FUCK that you aren’t sympathetic or understanding Geese’s position on that $600+service fees & tax ($690-700) room. You don’t even care that the man isn’t possibly going to attend because of that either. You just want this shit all in your control. Whats wrong with you?:nono::nono::nono::nono::nono::nono:
Why don’t you think I’m sympathetic to his position? Based on the economics as I understand them and the conditions of the tournament as they were explained to me, this room should work out just fine. Also, it’s not like I forced Dark Geese into making this decision. He’s a grown man and can make his own decisions.
Also, why don’t you think I care that he’s not coming? Of course I wanted him to come. If nothing else, it’s much easier running things with an extra person to run things.
Frankly, I’m insulted that you think this about control. I offered to help Dark Geese and Webster put this together. If they don’t want my help, they can certainly say so. The only thing I’m really concerned about is that things get done correctly. Do you really think I put the effort in to run things because I want to control things? No. I do it because no one else around here seems to know how or want to run anything (besides maybe Gene), and I’d rather run stuff so that people can have events like this instead of people just not having events like this happen.
You, Erik & Derrick are pretty critical of how I do tournaments. As Wes mentioned above, I fully invite you guys to run your own tournaments. Until you do that, I see no reason to take this sort of criticism from you guys.
Whatever dude, I think you’re full of shit. I mean that from the bottom of my little ghetto heart. You will rep what you sow. :bluu:
Even from the way you treat people (a great deal of mn players) shows how shady and untrustworthy you are. This shit right here is a prime example of that. :shake:
You are trying to control this tournament as you try to control everything. This is supposed to be a SNK event and you want to only put the games that you thing you can win at as the main games and everything else on the back burner. Why are you so afraid to step out of your comfort zone and try something new? Do you think you will lose your repect with your crew if you don’t make the top three in every tournament you play?
YOUR BRACKETS FAVOR YOU!
THE VENUE IS IN A BAD LOCATION AND IS TOO SMALL!
Stop trying to make this another mnstreetfighter event and listen to what others think for once
