Talk about serious rage quitting business :lovin:. That’s some pretty funny stuff.
Oh shit. I’m sorry then guys, i’ll occasionally turn off my console from that screen when its the last fight of the night for me. I’m done and as soon as i win or lose i just go straight to shut down console. I usually wait until that screen though because i don’t want to quit on anyone. I figured by the time that screen comes up the other player is long gone.
I had no idea it would keep me from losing points! I guess it doesn’t matter in my case, i went from 1500 to 900 last night! Karma will get you in the end, even if you know not what you do.
I’ll change my habits immediately though.
I’m waiting for my name to pop up on this list from last night. I got my ass handed to me in the first round by some Sagat player and as soon as the second round started the connection dropped. It totally looked like I had rage quit on the guy and I felt bad even though I didn’t do anything!
I wont ask since i’m sure it’s been asked before so i’m off to go search on how to find the people you played recently on 360. I want to find this guy and give him a rematch or at least find out if it was him that quit.
Same thing happened to me against softnutz. I was getting thrashed pretty bad the second round when it happened too. I checked the blog this morning to see if I had made it heh
I know how you feel, man. I’ve had that happen to me in player matches, when I’m experimenting with different characters. I feel so embarassed when I’m screwin’ around with Bison, lose via Perfect, then it frickin’ D/Cs the next round :annoy:
Anyway, here’s a ragequit I got recently:

To make up for that, I usually invite the person I played last back for another game and explain the situation. At the very least, you tried. If they don’t believe you, there’s not much you can do about it.
More games need to have a “forfeit” option. A lot of people rage quit because they come to the conclusion that they’re going to lose anyway, and it’s not worth wasting any more time. People like us, who want to improve our skills in a competitive game, might not understand that . . . but for casual gamers, who just want a quick bit of fun against someone of approximately equal skill, it would at least give them an option besides the dreaded rage quit.
I wouldn’t worry about that too much. Drops between rounds are iffy, and I think it’s just because Capcom’s netcode is pretty bad. The only ones I really believe are the extremely situational ones, such as an ultra being executed for the finishing blow and being disconnected on.
Yeah dude, don’t sweat it, it happens sometimes.
That is exactly why a blacklist is a horrible idea…sometimes the connection JUST DROPS…and some people on this forum are so butthurt about being dropped on, that they have no problem insisting that EVERY disconnect is a deliberate drop.
And as for you quitting at the medals screen, I wouldn’t worry about it…how could you know unless you read it here first? Its not something that anyone would know happens unless someone had investigated it (which we have).
Plus, its not like you denied someone else points, and that is the real beef that people have…its not getting the points for the win that they earned.
True, but i’ll definitely stop doing that.
I agree that the blacklist is bad idea. I had someone disconnect on me last night and i wrote the name down and then thought better of posting it.
I figure that if I want to prove to myself and everyone else that i really don’t care about BP then why would i bitch and moan about it? If half of the people who say they don’t care about it actually felt that way then this thread wouldn’t exist.
No, its taking one person complaining and making that more valid than the 20+ or so valid (ie clear to prove) ragequits that is the problem.
I mean I understand people like to argue to prove a point, but if this thread has proven anything, and this is a very rough estimate, that 4 people think random people being thrown under a bus is an epidemic equal to being every player being accused of murder, while hundreds else laugh at it and really don’t care that much either way as its an online video game and more for entertainment than witchhunting.
Excellent way to put words in the mouths of the 4 people who said they think this idea is stupid.
I can understand the point of this thread and that blacklist website. However…
There will always be rage quitters. Regardless of whatever game you play. SF, Halo, COD, NBA… Moreover, no player can just assume that the player simply rage quit like some people have noted in earlier posts. Family emergencies, power outages and the like are examples of random disconnecting abruptly.
IMO, i think this type of website or rage quit threads are not very successful. You may have images to validate your claims about rage quitting. However, there might as well be a rage quitter website for every game out there that has people leaving each time.
This seems like a rather similar way to leave feedback just like xbox live’s reputation system. As many of you have probably noticed, xbox live’s rep system is completely broken. You can play anyone randomly in a game. They don’t like you for no reason or for being a better player - they just give you bad feedback like a little kid.
Anyone can get bad feedback for doing nothing wrong at all. You beat someone - they’ll give you bad feedback. Anyone ever played ooxXxRamboxXxoo? If you haven’t, then watch this YouTube video:

There’s a point where he says “here take this bad feedback… blah blah blah”
All in all, street fighter is for mature teens and adults. I thought this was what SRK represented. This thread and blacklist website, however, seems to reflect the opposite.
We’re not kids anymore (at least I believe many of the SRK members are teens or older), so websites and threads like these should not be necessary. They do not really prove anything aside from people who post images and videos about sore losers.
There will always be sore losers - we can’t stop it. Not even the blacklist website or threads like these.
Excellent way of over-simplifying my valid statement and focusing on the extreme minority to justify your point. And in case you didnt notice, you put words in their mouths as well, as I didnt even see anyone use the word stupid. Most people were being devils advocates by speaking up for the poor unfortunate accidental ragequitters. I really doubt the intention of the site is to STOP ALL RAGEQUITTERS, and more to laugh at the times they quit out and the messages they leave.
Regardless of their words, 4 complainers that have all proven to be taking it WAY TOO SERIOUSLY (yourself included) vs. everyone else on the internet with a sense of humor and an accurate judgement of the validity of BP and online in general.
edit: whoever negged me with a /yourself note is exactly the person I am talking about. thanks!
I don’t take this seriously at all…not sure where you got that idea.
I just expressed the idea that any attempt to try and track the droppers is pointless and error prone by nature…short of someone sending you a message admitting they dropped, there is NO conclusive way to know when a drop was legit or not.
We can keep going over and over and over and over this same shit if you like, frankly I find it amusing.
I fail to see how I take this too seriously…I have not said anything in this thread that would imply I have emotional investment in the outcome…especially because I have a pretty damn good connection and I never drop matches.
I’m not worried about personally being “thrown under the bus” at all, it won’t affect me in the slightest, I just think the concept is stupid when it is clear as day, that there is no way for you or anyone else to know when a drop is legit or not (unless as previously mentioned, you get ragemail admitting the drop).
**
Now, please show me where I put words into someone else’s mouth.**
Well I’d say you’d need a pretty weird sense of humour to find the unproven ones without even any hatemail funny, they’re basically just random screenshots with a “connection the the opponent has been lost” pop-up box over them.
Well at the risk of being negged again (lol)…
“of the 4 people who said they think this idea is stupid.” - did they say anything about it being stupid? Did I just make up 4 people? You are guilty of the same thing I was, plain and simple.
It’s pointless when someone says HOW AM I SERIOUS but then puts forth the effort to explain how some random persons blog isnt a foolproof test of validity. Obviously you are missing about 90% of my point entirely.
And for random DC screens not being funny, obviously you haven’t seen some of pics off of the blog with the timing of certain animations (especially facial expressions) with quits. Some of the ragequitters add to the humor without even knowing what their timing pulls off.
However I just read it to laugh at people bitching about stuff (throwing, fireballs, etc). It’s getting to the point where people treat online more seriously than the SvR nerds.
Rules
- Pictures of offenders is required for proof.
- Acceptable proof of poor losers can be disconnects, hatemail etc.
- To qualify as a disconnecting, the loser must pull from the match at an unreasonable time such as right before taking a loss. Everyone gets randomly disconnected at one time or another, please take this into account.
EDIT: From his blog,
Hi guys and gals.
I’ve gotten a bit of flak for the way that I’ve been handling people contacting me to get their name of the blog.
The people who contact me and make a reasonable case for themsevles I am more than willing to take down. But people who dont have any way of backing up their claims need to do one of the following to get their post removed:
- Apologize to the other player
- Challenge the other player to a rematch.
My reasoning is that these are both easy and quick things to do. It helps redeem the player who “dc’d” while making it up to the player who submitted them to this site.
Anyway, a few people have said that this system isn’t fair. I can’t just take down posts of anyone because they tell me to, this blog would be empty if I did that. I dont know what to do in this matter so I’m looking for help here.
In the comment box let me know if you have any alternative suggestions, or even if you support the current system for handling people wishing to have their name removed.
Yea, the problem with that is, if your proof of their rage quit was taken by a crappy webcam, they insist there was lag when there clearly wasnt, then look at the crappy laggy webcam vid and go “OMG LOOK DID U SEE IT R LAG SEE I R NOT RLY BAD LOLOLOLZ”
THIS IS A VID OF A GUY THAT QUIT ON ME TODAY, RIGHT BEFORE I KILLED HIM LOL!!!

PSYCHO SLAP!!!
The OP should be edited to include a list of usernames.
Add this one to the list: SuperNerd21 (a momentous occasion: my very first ragequitter - Akuma, too lol…)
