Ragequitters be damned - The Bads Loser Wall of Shame

If you don’t lag out near the end of the match and you’re losing, why would you have anything to worry about? That’s what I was talking about, detecting a quit near the end of the match.

Errr you have me confused now…

But according to the topic “on cheapness”:

Now it seems honorable players DO exist?
So just to get this clear, it’s honorable to spam fireballs, or at least, since honorable players don’t exist it’s not DIShonorable.

But it IS dishonorable to disconnect when you are facing some boring twat who does the same thing over and over?

BUT in other threads i have read things in the lines of “It can’t be cheap, it’s in the game” or “Blame the programmers that ‘cheap tactic x’ works”

Well, using that train of thought: in that case blame the programmers for not punishing disconnects, the ability to disconnect without losing BP is in the game so therefore must be a valid tactic.

i usually quit out on akuma spammers and guys who just randomly hit buttons and can’t even do special moves but yet somehow hit ex special moves when i go in for the kill.

if someone beats me with skill so be it. i’ll take losses all day long.

Actually it just seems like your a bad player looking to excuse rage quiting, and using some pretty twisted logic to do so

I mean go a head, play bad, rage quit and then go cry about it, but don’t try to make up excuses like that

I actually didn’t think of adding any fire to this thread but I figured this pic was just too good…

vs. a 5k Cammy player by the name of Brussles50 (or around those lines). Was the second of two matches I had with this guy back-to-back in ranked, the first I beat him fairly well with Dictator. This time around with Sak I combo-d the guy silly, and just when I was about to finish the match, lo and behold I get that screen. Sorry but, but that still just shows how epic of a buttkicking he really got there.

As PadThrashingMad said, I don’t mind if I lose, even if it’s to stupid tactics (my fault for not adjusting or taking things seriously), but for a guy to quit when he’s purely bested really shows the true colors.

What I don’t get is when someone rage quits in a non ranked match. I get that quite a bit. It’s kind of funny.

More frustrating for me than rage quitting is how players not as good as me will continue to want to fight but players a bit better or way better will back out after beating me 1 or 2 times. I understand we all want to get better so we should be fighting people on the same level or higher but if all I get to fight are new players my skills are going to get worse not better.

I always try to give someone at least 5 matches if they want it. Even if I destroy them all 5 matches. I figure they are learning something and I get to practice combos/other characters than my main. This would work great if everyone did this but most players better than me I’ve played out there will win 1 or 2 times(2 if you are lucky) and then leave the match. That just sucks.

I do consider myself new to SF4(had it for about 3-4 weeks) and at times I wonder how close to scrub level I am but I am not so bad in most matches that the other player didn’t have to try. Often enough I will win 1 round of the 3 and its close on the other 2. That should be enough to keep someone fighting for a while but I get people leaving the fight all the time. Makes it hard to keep playing sometimes.

When someone contacts me to get their name off the page, I ask them to either apologize or have a rematch with the player they quit on.

A few quitters have flat out refused to do either of those (some in particular have gotten really mad at me for it). So I ask you guys, is what I’m asking unfair?

LOL!

Don’t be a donk. If you think someone has no skill, either beat them or hang your head in shame. …Would you really rather be a whiney Battle Poindexter and quit?

Well personaly the way I would do it is to only imediately post pictures up that involve hatemail and if a picture doesn’t include hatemail message the accused ragequitter to ask if he/she ragequit before posting the picture up.

If you’re getting beat by that, you aren’t cut out for this game.

lol, self important much?

Ragequit is the stupidest word ever.

I’ve quit on a couple of Akuma players before; akuma is the laziest character design ever and playing him (over and over as well i might add) is about the same kind of fun as wiping your ass with a machete.

Some people need to get over themselves. If battle points mean that much to you that you are prepared to put up with a wholly broken and poorly designed ‘ranking’ system then more fool you, surely. It might not be ‘cool’ to quit and deny someone their hard earned few points, but it’s no more uncool to play the way some of these cheapass players do.

And don’t give me this crap about valid ways of playing a character’; we all instincitvely know when something is ‘cheap’ or when people are taking the piss.

So if you don’t care about your BP and whatnot, why disconnect? I don’t understand the logic behind that one.

I wasn’t referring to me disconnecting in ranked matches. I was talking about the endless stream of akuma players who all do the same thing and how it bores the shit out of me when you face out for the tenth time in a row. It’s cheap, akuma is a lazy character design and I don’t enjoy it. Why do people always have to play the same tired characters. It’s getting really really tedious now.

I haven’t had too many problems against Akuma tbh (I usually use blanka and I enjoy the challange of finding/creating gaps and getting through the wall of fireballs).

There are many irritating, seemingly unstoppable (at first) tactics/characters in the game. The fun part for me is practising and working out how to beat them down. That is what I love about the Streetfighter series, that’s the whole game, that’s the challenge and that is where the deepness in the game lies. If you don’t enjoy the gameplay, can I ask, why do you even bother playing it?

I dunno, maybe your at a higher level than me? I just broke over 4,000 bp and I’ve never rage quit.

But anyway, if you are quitting at the end of a losing match (re: “ragequitting”), then you are quitting because battle points are obviously precious to you (Good luck with that).

That’s the point of the thread.

In honesty, I do enjoy collecting BP (I wouldn’t say I don’t care about them), but I don’t see the sense in fooling myself by quitting a match I should have lost and ending up at a level I shouldn’t really be at. What happens when you quit so many losing fights and you get to a point where you are fighting in too high a skill tier? Start quitting every other match? Is that any fun?

Akuma fireball spammers are easy to get past as most of them are terrible and Akuma has such little HP.

No need to quit, unless you suck and it sounds like you do.

Translation: “I suck with Dhalsim and then I quit to keep my precious bp”.

Translation: “I suck against fireballs, I can’t block so I quit to save my precious bp”.

Translation: “I just suck”.

These justifications are funny

you also didn’t read what i said: when EVERY FUCKING FIGHT is against the SAME character played the SAME way, it’s not fun.

Akuma is a shoddily designed character. The devs couldn’t be bothered to think of anything original so they gave him a load of boring fireball attacks. Big yawn.

executivefungus is a sore loser

as are your translations.

Mate. Are you really trying to justify quitting a match you were about to lose?

If your just avoiding Akuma matches or quitting on the first round then suit yourself, but that doesn’t really apply to this thread.

If your quitting because you don’t want/can’t handle the loss, then don’t be surprised to get ripped in to.

Did you read my post on page 11? I covered this …and I’m not really sure what your still trying to prove. :-? That a “shoddily designed” character is giving you problems? That’s isn’t really relevant unless your admitting your quitting just before a loss - so I’ve taken it to presime you are trying to justify just that - but even so, Akuma 'aint that good. He has weak health and a useless ultra+super.
