even quitting at the screen after you win and it has both of the players names on the screen screws up your save.
i wonder what ever happen to Turbo man? someone should photoshop http://www.zacharyodette.com/images/pictures11.gif this and have it say something like "turbo man says “hold down those buttons for simple links and spam that electricity!”
I’ve always disliked that thread, what’s the point really ?
You managed to outplay and frustrate 2k GP players, congrats you wasted hundreds of hour playing the game more than him. Now you’re teh king of SF online !
You can even print this on your wall and show it to your friends
I dont even like online play and I see the point of this thread… When you play any competitive game you should know, hey i may lose.
Sometimes it takes a good deal of effort on part of the winner to win a match, for a person to turn around and deny them they privilage of winning, it is unsportsmanlike. It is the akin to you losing at soccer, getting pissed off and knifing the only ball the teams have to play with. Sure you didnt lose, but everyone is gunna be pretty pissed. (not a big fan of sports either, but easiest example I could give)
For example, if you were playing Street Fighter with a friend, you used all your skill to win, you almost do so then they kick the power button on the console. Admittedly I wouldn’t be too frustrated, but I would definately slap em once… or twice.
Sad thing was…it was a player match and he randomly did a wakeup ultra when i was about 1/4 screen away. got the above right as he was landing from his ultra.
You’re missing the point. It actually DOES become a problem when people quit in Champ because you have to start over and it’s insanely frustrating when they do it in Ranked. Who cares if they pull in Player…There’s nothing on the line.
And it’s rare for shitty players to pull…at least in my experience. It’s the decent to good people who are more likely to freak out and quit.
You mean the people who THINK they’re decent/good. I can hear them through the mic goig “OMG! OMG! LAG! OMG!”. Truly good players don’t make up excuses for their loss. Especially when they’re playing a character that has more advantages under lag than their opponent.
Is there a way to create lag midgame? A lot of times i’m playing and when I get a player in the corner the game suddenly becomes laggy. Othertimes if I win round 1 they lag all of round 2 and if they win it returns back to normal, if not I get a rage quit.
I just want to know if I’m imagining things because the lag is messing up my gameplay or if it’s possibly deliberate because it certainly seems that way.
I have the same thing happen against 2 people on my buddy list and I keep telling myself it’s all in my head. Funny, both use chars that benefit from lag (Ken/Ryu).
Hey now, I had some of this happen to me as well yesterday. One round goes fine, guy loses, but suddenly the second starts to skip and lag, and if it doesn’t turn around, bam! they quit!
I could put it down to the internetz if their disconnect wasn’t around 10%… I can’t remember the gamertag of that one.
I main Guile, a char that relies heavily on 1 frame links. Mashing DP ownes all these links solely due to lag, not my sloppy timing or what have you.
Guiles anti-airs don’t work either (cr.hp, s.hp, lk.flashkick, grab) nearly as well…less then half the time, to be honest.
The ultra lose timing on Ryu and Ken’s inputs and combos allows them to own a decent Guile player by relying on lag. Same goes for Honda’s butt-splash.
While cr.hp punishes that move every single time under good connection or offline, lag makes this a free win for Honda.
So yeah, free jump-ins+lp.dp+tatsu spam only work well under laggy conditions. Do them offline and you’ll get ripped apart by a second rate player.
