Rage Quitters in hdr xbox live

Another plug puller.

I played this guy the other night. I think his username was dodgeme123. I was Blanka, he was Fei Long, so it was a tough matchup for Blanka. I played it smartly and got a couple tick bites in. He rage quit right as I was winning the last match.

I called him out on it; messaged him “Nice plug pull scrub.” He messaged back “fuck off” then requested a player match. We played 25 or so matches. He had an EXCELLENT Sim and imployed a lot of tick throwing and keep away. I won about 10-12 of the 25 or so matches.

I messaged him back “ggs you’re not a scrub after all” and quit because I had a live to get back to. Later, he messaged me “That’s right run pussy stupid cheating throws.” It blew my mind that a player who was so good and used the same tick throw tactics would acuse me of “cheating.”

I called him out, messaged him back “throwing is part of the game, if you don’t like it play something else.” Never got a message back.

Sirlin said that Daigo himself said Gief is Ryu’s hardest match-up. I don’t think its an exaggeration if Daigo says it.

By the way, I’ve plug pulled a couple of times but not by my choice. If you ever play against me and I plug pull, it’s because my wife thinks I’ve been playing too much Street Fighter and she comes up and pulls the plug. :crybaby:

I believe that is grounds for divorce in most of the civilized world.

That’s a divorce with disasterous consequences. Better to let her win the little battles than to take the whole house and the 360 in the divorce…then no more Street Fighter… and that’s an even sadder world.

LOL. I tell her to time it so that if she plug pulls, I’m in the character select screen. She’s pretty good about not plug pulling in the middle of matches. But when it comes to THAT time of the month, anything goes…

Now is this for ST or Remix? That damn fake fireball kind of balance it out IMO. Zangief has no easy matchups, IMO Balrog is about even. Akuma/Honda (9-1), Blanka/DeeJay(8-2) Guile/Sim(7-3) Everyone else (6-4)

ST. I would think HDR is the same. I think we need more Daigo input.

I know it’s just a video game and all but that’s pretty damn disrespectful if she just comes in and cuts of your game in the middle of it. It’s not even about the game it;s the principle.

I dunno man, I shouldn’t be commenting on someone elses relationship but that would not go over well with me.

well we all know who wears the trousers in that relationship lol

hate to break it to you, vega doesn’t have an advantage over guile. getting in on guile is maybe a hair easier than a hawk player could do. only because of vega’s speed. but still I have to jump over sonic booms and avoid flash kicks just like you do. It seems like you are getting really huffy over my opinion, and I think its because you really, really, really, like t hawk, and your bias towards that character is a little too much. I mean seriously, I’ve read your other posts, and they just ooze with over confidence and with this whole" i’m the best hawk out there". and thats fine, think what you want. you may not agree with my opinion, but there it is. you won’t change my mind. and I obviously won’t change yours. there’s nothing special about hawk, get over it.

Lol I figured that might come up, but yeah, you’re really good. I still want a rematch though - I play gridman a lot more, and his style is a lot different from yours. When we ran into each other in the same room, I felt like I was just beginning to get the hang of what you were doing when you had to split. Oh well!

Skankin, maybe its because you play Chun, but I’m not so convinced Gief doesn’t dominate the Ryu matchup.

[]The only time you can do fireballs is when he’s a little over 2 inches away, is stupid enough to jump towards you from far away, on wakeup (and even then, I’ve seen ppl lariat on wakeup), or if Gief lariats, but is far enough away that when the lariat ends he will take chip damage from blocking. Gief shuts Ryu’s fireball game down pretty good.
[
]Sometimes Hurricane Kick can trade in your favor vs lariat, but the vast majority of the time it gets owned.
[]If you try jumping in when you haven’t knocked Gief down, you either get the lariat or get jabbed out of it. You have to hit him like you are going to do a combo because if your timing is off, its a free SPD.
[
]So that basically leaves … c.medium and c. roundhouse …:wow:. Yea that sucks. What’s worse is that Gief has so many ways around it. He can corpse hop xx SPD, anticipate and trade with roundhouse for knockdown, do the glove from just the right distance to trick you into doing it early enough to where he gets just enough distance to SPD, do Running Bear Grab, or sometimes he can just SPD you out of it entirely.
[]You are constantly running away, keeping him out with c. medium (when you can) or s. medium (if he’s dumb enough to jump and you haven’t DP’ed yet) or hurricane kick (if you anticipate running bear grab early enough). Meanwhile, he’s looking for the c.medium and fireball so he can punish you accordingly.
[
]Once he gets you in the corner you can’t fireball, so he’s looking for c. medium trade with roundhouse so he can knock you down and play mindgames with your wakeup DP. He can mess with you by safe jumping in, blocking and doing nothing, or by going for the tick SPD. If your reaction isn’t short of perfect, its GGPO for you.

Those are my thoughts on why Gief dominates that matchup. I’d be interested in hearing your thoughts as to why he doesn’t.

Yeah, maybe it’s because it’s just a game, but I don’t really mind when it happens and it’s kind of a joke between us. She’s not angry or anything when she does it, I just get really obsessive over HDR and play it too much.

She’s a real looker and she’s into comics more than I am. I got very lucky. :pleased:

cool man, I’m into comics too, mainly silver surfer

Fact: you cheat in a video game to preserve a rank that nobody cares about. People also know you cheat, so they realize that you suck. /Thread

Really, Zangief? I thought Ryu could own that with his fake FB. I’m gonna say Vega is Ryu’s worst matchup, I saw some vids of Afro beating DGV with freakin’ normals. He totally owned DGV - that’s friggin’ rare!

I play a very average Vega, but I’ve been able to beat some solid Guile’s based on the matchup advantage. Vega’s slide is a huge pain for Guile, and his cr. mp stuffs booms. Once you get Guile to panic Flash Kick against your cr. mp, you can pretty much mop the floor with him. Vega also has a very fast jump, perfect for dealing with Guile’s fast boom recovery. If we’re ever online together I’ll show you how I play that matchup, it may change your mind.

Norieaga-- I try to do c. mp and it seems like I still get hit with sonic booms or get stuffed with flash kicks. I try and mix the game up, and I usually do come out on top with guile. but its by no means an easy matchup. maybe its cause I’ve fought some pretty hard guiles lately lol.

Have you tried using max range slides? I remember reading somewhere that max range slide pressure shuts Guile down. I remember doing that a lot on GGPO (so I have no experience in HDR) and I would either trade in my favor or beat whatever Guile was doing cleanly. I’m not sure how much his somersaults changed, but I think Guile has a hard time actually hitting Vega out of slides with that move.

News flash; Claw owns Guile. The RH FK helps, but you can still pressure well with Claw’s slide, and he can also jump an SB on reaction. I’ve spoke to some solid Guile players and they all agree that while its not as bad as the fight was in ST, its still a fight in Claws favor. Majority of the time a top Claw will beat a top Guile. You’re more of a Claw player than I am, you should know.

Yes, I really, really, really like Hawk. I think his character design is very intersting; risk-reward, which is also why I like Dictator so much (he’s generally more risk than Hawk). And no, I’m not huffy over your opinion(nor was I trying to change it), I’m just a little confused because I’ve never heard anyone say Hawk requires less thinking than anyone else; everyone I’ve ever spoken too says that him and Dhalsim are the most challenging to use correctly.

I’ve never claimed one time in any post “I’m the best Hawk out there”. I’ve probably claimed to be one of the best. Too me, that’s a fair enough statement regarding how much I’ve been playing my ass off since I started getting competitive, being one of the few major Hawk players on Live, and being able to compete well with some big name players. My goal is to be one of the best Hawk players (if not the best) in the nation, and it’ll happen eventually. I’m not gonna give up unless its something personal.

Also, don’t insult someones main. I don’t know where you come from, but around here that’s a dick thing too do.

Oh yeah, he’s much more aggressive than I am. I’m pretty patient and usually wait for the right time, dunno if you could tell. I’d love to play more against your Chun (I actually like fighting yours), but I won’t be home for another two weeks probably.
