The thing is though, if you screw up once, its practically over. I think Hawk has a better shot at Claw than Gief due to his superior aerial game. Im almost certain you haven’t played any top notch Hawks, otherwise that little bit of fear would be in the back of your head. Whenever I play a Gief or a Hawk with Dictator (who arguably has a better keep away at those guys than Claw), the fear is there, and once you fight notable players for those characters, you’ll understand, because I don’t think you have yet.
I’ve played good hawks, but top notch is relative. and don’t get me wrong, hawks do give me a hard time. not saying its an easy fight. I’ve lost to some. but my point is, it gets so boring playing keep away. and yes, I screw up once, then it becomes difficult to come back. but yet for a hawk player, they can screw up multiple times and come out on top. hence why I think hawk and gief are so popular to pick up. less than stellar players can still win and not have too much thinking involved compared to some characters like guile, for example. takes a lot of patience and strategy to play a character like guile. I consider him a thinking man’s character. but gief and hawk…just do 2 pile drivers or 720’s and you basically win the match. and I’m not saying you don’t need to think to play hawk or gief, but I think some other characters require more out of the player to fully take advantage of their skills.
He pm’d me on xbl saying he was gonna post that vid cause I bitch at him every time aka every game we play when he’s about to lose. Haha. Really old single occurance, vs his 100% rage quitting. Check capcoms rank site to see he only has “19 losses” in ranked. Kind of ironic.
Hawk isn’t popular at all. I’ve only played a handful on Live and I’ve been playing since launch. I can’t say the same about Gief though. Hawk dominates nobody in this game. MAYBE Chun, but she can be tough a lot of the time. Unless the Hawk player knows EXACTLY what he’s doing, he’ll be shut down at higher levels of play everytime. You really need to out think Guile, Dhalsim, and Dee Jay to even get close to them. If anything, Hawk is easily one of the hardest characters to win with.
“Really old single occurance, vs his 100% rage quitting” - - - Maybe so Evoanon but you are a rage quitter, it does’nt matter if you do it once, twice or more, you quit game and you post here complaining about others rage quitting.
This video > has caught you red-handed quitter.
You say you did it the once (again probably bullshit) but I think once the video was posted you were already a member of Srk and you had to stop quitting in order for you to keep your good reputation or hide the fact that you were a rage quitter. Whether the outcome is your still a rage quitter, you are on the list thats all that matters.
Is this thread filled with people like Evoanon who think its alright to quit once (probably bullshit) then report others who do it to you in a game and complain about it? Im led to believe that there more people like Evoanon here posting in a rage quitters thread when they are a rage quitter themselves.
Tragic.
Evoanon admitted to it a long time ago, and he was apologetic. He’s also kept his mouth shut and has changed his tune. I can at least appreciate that he has enough balls to admit wrong and actually stop. Assuming you’re M4ST4R F, you can’t say shit because you rage quit constantly. I’ve seen many detailed posts of your rage quits and messages you’ve sent other users. Moral of the story: stop posting.
EDIT: If you’re not M4ST4R F, then I apologize; however, you haven’t denied it previously so I assume it is true.
Hey im not going to post no more it was one rage quitter (me) vs another rage quitter (Evoanon)
We only got his word for it that he only quit once & yes he did change, but im not talking about if he changed or if he has’nt. Im talking about his constant bullshit PM about quitting, so i tried to dig some dirt which i did about him thats all. I dont even post on the forums other then retaliate what Evoanon says to me in PM.
Im no longer going to post as I did’nt intend to be a future srk user, just came on here to post shit about Evoanon. But Noriega dont have a go at me there are others like “MiloDC” that have responded to Evoanon rage quit video, why dont you say the same thing to him? - Did’nt think so.
Ive done my job so im gonna cancel my account.
Later Evoanon
Just before I go i will once again post that rage quit video from Evoanon for laughs!

I’m sorry, what was the joke?
This guy truly is the definition of a moron. Almost every time I play I have to fight this idiot and not once has he taken his loss. I really do hope you stop posting.
Nice new bio by the way, just goes to show what a dumbass you are.
damn, there are a lot of egos bouncing off the walls in here!!
lol you think thats bad? you ought to see the HD remix “what other people message you when you beat them” thread
And for a real “treat,” there’s

Holy backfire batman. :).
lol that goes for pretty much any non-projectile character, I have a hard time with those guys too, minus sim of course
This goes back to my previous point though; Claw does have the advantage against Guile and Sim; I’m 95% sure Hawk is the only character in the game with no fight that is downright in his favor. That’s exactly why he isn’t popular. Whenever you do get in and finish your opponent off that fast, its seems pretty fair, considering how patient Hawk has to be to find that one opening and capitalize on it. Any Hawk player that just rushes in will get destroyed. A good Hawk player has to be very patient. Saying Hawk doesn’t need to think is hard as other characters is a pretty silly thing to say.
Personally, I think Zangief has no truly dominant fights, either.
Anyways. A big part of the reason Gief and Hawk players can make them seem really powerful at first (especially Hawk) is that, if you’ve never played anyone competent with Gief or Hawk, their repertoire can be really hard to deal with.
For example, Hawk v Chun looks like a landslide victory for Hawk at first, until you discover that S.Mk beats most of his jump-ins, and close S.Mk beats all of them Mix that in with some fireball mixup games and suddenly it doesn’t look so heavily-slanted in Chun’s favor.
Well, what I’ve noticed is that seems to be the case for everyone; any time I run into a Hawk player on ranked, they have an incredibly good W/L ratio, but when I play them, almost all of them just spam jump attacks and Hawk Dives while mashing for reversal SPDs any time they get hit or block an attack. My hypothesis is that, before people realize how to deal with this properly, it just steamrolls them.
It’s not necessarily that Hawk and Gief are just crazy good; it’s that you just get really good returns out of playing a very scrubby Gief/Hawk against players who don’t know exactly how to handle it.
Because I’ve seen the vid a longggggg time ago, and I forgave the guy - as others have. Now please, grow some testicles and learn to take a loss.
hahahahaaa Noriega forgive? did he abuse your trust? hahahahaaaaa
did Evoanon get down on his knees & he begged for noriega’s forgiveness?
I will grow some testicals noriega once you get off them.
My bio it true if you read it and as for Smooth4200 haahaa I told you, I made you run to shroyuken like i said and moan about wot happend to your boyfriends, no hard feelings!
dry away the tears!
So are you saying you don’t have any testicles? And how can Norieaga be on them if you don’t have any? Try making a little sense.
Zangief may not dominate anybody, but he does have the advantage against someone with gloves, and he’s Ryu’s hardest match-up.
And yeah, the few Hawks I’ve run into on ranked all spam dives and when you get close, they just keep doing circles and pressing punch. Really predictable stuff.
Btw skankin, not to brag, but since I win the majority of our fights, you know what a smart Hawk can do. :nunchuck:
Damn, you guys should just stop replying to this Benzema guy. He simply won’t stop before a mod takes some action, would he think it is needed or advisable.
Jiggly, I believe it is a bit of an exaggeration to say Ryu’s hardest matchup is gief, as he still has to deal with Claw and Sim. I would say a mad Gief it is as bad as a good Claw or Boxer, just not with the same pressure (with pokes, that is).
I also agree that the idea of using Gief is easy is wrong. Sure, even players who have never played much Gief can use those basic st.short->SPD and splash, cr.jabs->SPD ticks. It is all about learning the 360 (270 in fact) motion, and nothing else. But they just stop working on good players, specially offline. Most casual players can not do reversal specials with any consistency, so it looks really “cheap.” But good players do not fall for constant ticks, and the grappler then has to mix sweeps, the number of jabs before SPD or just waiting for a reversal so a to punish, and that takes a lot of skill to do. Not to mention consistently getting in against good projectile players. It is just a match that seems unbalanced depending on the players’ skills (IMHO, on Ryu’s favor for novice players, on Gief’s favor for normal and better players, then closer to fair but with a small advantage to Gief for very good players).
