Still bored, so here are some of my faves, broken down by console:
PSX: Wipe3out, and obviously WipeOut XL. Saturn: Sega Rally Championship N64: F-Zero X, and WipeOut 64. (WipeOut 64 is very underrated, it’s got tight control, good physics, and nice tracks) Xbox: Colin McRae 2005, Burnout 3, Forza, Rallisport Challenge 1 & 2. (RS2 is probably my favorite racing game of all time, everything about the game is perfect. It strikes a good balance between realism and arcade-style gameplay, has awesome control, and tracks, and the graphics are amazing) GC: F-Zero GX 360: Dirt 2, Forza III, Pure. (Yes, Pure, I’m not ashamed to say it) PSP: There’s no shortage of good racers here. WipeOut Pure & Pulse, Ridge Racer, Motorstorm, Burnout Legends.
Played F-Zero AX at an arcade in Vegas once. It had the seat that moves around while you play. Only time I ever got dizzy playing a video game. It was still awesome.
I can never play in first person in any racer nor play with a driving stick, even now that I have my licence for a while.
F-zero GX is by far my favorite racing game. I really want nintendo to make another one, but I’m scared that they’re gonna fuck it up somehow and make me miss GX.
Playing some of these racing games has gotten me interested in fixing up an old car and start entering in some circuit racing events. Also I know Burnout is an awsome arcade racer.
What Kart type games were released for the PSX?
All I remember ATM are the Toy Story one, Crash Team Racing and a game called Speed Freaks I think?
Don’t recall ever playing the latter though, but me and bros played the heck out of CTR.
Same goes with NFS: Hot Pursuit for the PS2 (one of the first NFS games on the PS2).
I’m looking forward to SEGA All-Star racing myself though =3
There was also Chocobo Racing, which had Cloud as a hidden character. Also there was a Bomberman kart racer. But CTR is pretty much the kart game on PS1.
Oh, and Sonic & Sega All-Stars is actually shaping up to be a buy for me.
I decided to play some of my old PS1 racers using the NeGcon. There is no point in playing any of the PS1 Ridge Racers with anything else other than this controller. It’s that good.
Also San Fransisco Rush 2049 has a warm place in my heart for some reason.
Sims (Gran Turismo) BORE the shit out of me. Last Gran Turismo I liked was GT2. After that it got too realistic for me, couldn’t even get myself past the license tests. Despite this I am going to buy GT5 and try to get into that game.
Forza also looks pretty cool to me. Might cop that as well.
Motorstorm:PR is really dope. Really fun. Really it’s those mindless racers that I have the most fun with.
Speaking of which, I really want to get Sega All Stars Racing.
Anyone playing Blur Beta, I wasn’t expecting the game to be good but I should of had more faith in Bizarre. Game totally rocks, Activision are screwing Bizarre over by releasing it on the same day as Split Second
I have one more beta key left, anyone wants it first come first serve - RGHM-J2CL-TM3W-7V6J

IIRC Split/Second is being released the week before Blur (SS on May 18, Blur on May 25)
Sorry, as much as I like Bizzare Creations’ games, Split/Second is looking like the better game, regardless of how much more publicity Activision is giving the game with the open beta.
not sim, theres daytona 2 and scyd racer as my favorites. used to play the shit outta these 2 racers in the cades. i dont think anybody ever beat my medium and hard time lap on d2 (on the cabs i was playing at obviously).
Completely agree, I actually heard of Split Second before hearing about Blur, apparently SS has powerups too.
Destructable Environments + Powerups > Blur, sorry Bizarre lol
