If it ain’t a fighter, I get it on 360. Hell, if the new 360 d-pad is good enough, even THAT might change.
BTW if Ridge Racer aint on an arcade cab…it sucks. I remember buying the PSX version after playing the arcade version, it’s like “OMG it looks like the arcade y0!” Then after 5 minutes it’s like “it’s 037634753 more boring than the arcade y0!” I haven’t bought an RR game since. Plus no licensed cars… the only racing game without licensed car I can stand was Midnight Club 2.
Speaking of RR, I know these were supposedly VERY limited, but did anyone’s arcade have the RR with an actual right hand drive Mazda Eunos (Miata) in the cab? It was an actual whole Miata inside an enclosure with it’s controls wired to the game, and a huuuge screen infront of the car, and the usual racecar was replaced in-game with a Miata.
We had on at Time-Out back in the day shit was like $3 to play.
anybody familiar with amalgam car models? shits awesome but ss fucking expensive.
man im still bugged i didn’t buy the pocher ferrari f40 1/8 back in the day. the store was closing so it was going away for less than a 100 bucks. seeing its price now gives me headaches.
arcade race forum was pretty bad, but they had some great news. model 3 emulation (scud race, le mans 24, daytona 2, daytona 1 remake, sega rally 2). lets hope we get an emu for the ps3.
I only played TDU2 an hour today. Not liking it compared to the first.
Cant customize controls? WTF. I’ve NEVER used controls like the setup they have default. I have messed up a few licenses fumbling with the controls. Maybe the first game had the same controls, but I haven’t played it since 2009 when my data was corrupted. In-car view is hard to drive because they try to simulate your body moving around by g-forces, but it’s exaggerated compared to any other game I played. Heaven forbid you have to zig-zag.
PC version lets you re-map controls, but because Gateway made the dumbest fucking build for the family computer that I pretty much have to play on, it chugs like crazy even on the lowest settings (no AA, everything on Low) and even worse, inputs have a one second or more delay.
I’m amazed it even runs at all since the Radeon HD 3200 isn’t supported. But hey, it has 8 GB of RAM! shrug
Good thing it was just 40 bucks. I could shell out more for a new GPU or re-buy it for consoles, but either way, I lose money.
GT5 has car damage, problem is, when you trash a car repairs can cost a first-born child + $1M so no one really wants to test how much it takes to really crush a car, I think.
My bigger problems with the game are the recycled cars (would anyone be that upset if they didn’t get 1,000 cars but they were all premiums? Be honest) and how little regular events pay out in prizes (Seasonal Events is a remedy to that though). Everything we were hoping it would be? Nope. Absolute waste of $60? Not that either. Just my two cents.
Shift 2 and Dirt 3 are right around the corner, by the way.
NFS has had at least five reboots along the lines of what Unbounded is to Ridge Racer.
First it was the most realistic racer you could buy, then it was an arcade game, then with Porsche Unleashed it was a pseudo-sim again, then HP2 was arcade, then it was a FnF-styled street racing game, then it was a street racing game on race tracks, then it was a shitty B-movie in video game form, then it was a weak attempt at a sim, then it was Burnout, and now it’s going to be a sim again, but for real it seems.
The opposite seems to be the consensus. TDU2 official forums and even GF’s. Sucks compared to TDU1. Pretty much what everyone wants is TDU1 with the added cars and Ibiza.
Omg! I forgot that I owned Hot Pursuit. I think what got me stop playing was new games and paying for additional content so soon. I miss the free goodies from Burnout Paradise. I liked that model better.
I never owned Dirt before but I’m looking forward to 3.
Been playing GT5 for the last week, game is superb, I think I’m halfway done with it (all Golds up to IB, the 3 first race categories, and most special events in various degrees).
Anyone played Need for Speed Shift 2 Unleashed online? I heard single player is lacking but to be honest single player in racing games has never interested me.
Wow that is a very broad question lol. Depends on what kind of PC you have, what kind of racing wheel you own and what type of game you are looking to get into; Sim or Arcade?
