Yeah I have done that one, it’s pretty fun just because of the insane ammount of hits it’s does
I did a 6A and instead of the super coming out I missed and did a 6C, looked kind of cool so I added some wind and BAM haha. It’s fun to do if you know it’ll end the match, but I usually save the wind for something else and just do “sjc j.B j.A j.B j.C 236A”
well first of all , it doesn’t work on rachel, so that might be a start. but lets say you are doing a basic 5B to 6CD combo, you want to hit the C button again when the counter is on 10 (so the jumping C will be the 11th hit of the combo). That is if you want to land and do 5B again. I believe that some character you can do it earlier, and others you have to do it later. Hope that helps a little bit. Just remember, that sometimes you can get into a situation where you’re not going to get all the hits in, but you can still combo afterwards. Obviously you’re not going to sit there and watch the counter but with a little practice you can start to eyeball it.
And yeah, sjc means Super Jump Cancel. Just a jc would be jump cancel. And if there is a “.” after a “j” then it’s the air version that attack. IE: j.A is jumping A. Normally only the attacks are capital so lowercase letters mean something else most of the time.
And you may be doing the j.C too late. 6C doesn’t combo into j.C after all the hits are done. You have to cancel one of the hits from 6C into j.C… It works best if you do it just before the last hit of 6C is going to hit, but it takes time to get it right.
Edit: Syxx is right I forgot to mention it’s a no-go with Rachel
Yes that helped alot!~ I was thinking the j.C was after the 6CD ended…lol…i was like wtf… now I understand what ghaleon was trying to explain. just did it, defiantly gunna practice this one!
yeah I got confused because I would see a j.C and think ok so I have to connect a jumping C, but you were just refering to the air version of C …ahh!!
Also a good one that seems to work on most people in the corner (I haven’t landed it on a few char’s but I’m not sure if that was just my F-up) is similar to the one on that DVD…
what i don’t understand is in that rachel combo video on youtube is shows them doing the frog then 6C+D, j.c into super and the super hits… but when i try it the computer will tech so i wonder if it’s a real combo because i’m doing it almost the exact same way and can’t figure out what the hell is going on
Which video? MSY’s? Pretty sure they’re not using wind with the 6C, otherwise it adds too much to the tech value of the combo (meaning they can tech out sooner). They’re probably using just normal 6C then j.C, land, and super.
Anybody else use j.236B ??? Between that and grounded 236C I can really get them to stay out of the air so much.
I WHORE that shit.
I also use a lot of jumping frog. Ive managed to start forcing people to run to the other side of the stage and try to poke me to death but a jumping frog goes almost full screen, it forces them to come out the corner or try and get rid of the frog, both of which grant you the oppourtunity to close in.
Right now my biggest problem is Nu DDDDDDD 236D 214D spam. When im all outta drive i get desperate and try to rush them down.
EDIT: Can I punish Jin’s stupid ass iceskateboard shit? Rachel has shit range. Im thinking I can 6A+B between the second hit, but if theres something more practical…id love to know.
You can also just block ride the icening and after he does the follow up slash hit 'em with 5B and whatever combo you want. It’s pretty fun to watch the online Jins try to come up with something after you shut down their favorite move.
@SuckaB: If it’s a character that loves to fight in close, I’ll set some stuff up on my side and let them come to me. Or, throw up a pumpkin and dash in while winding the pumpkin in front of you.
As far as regenerating wind, I think you might have issues with your wind management if you’re running out on a regular basis. You get one wind every 3 seconds, which is pretty quick if you’re not dumping all of it at once.
Also, I’m starting to feel a little more confident with a few combos, just working them into my play one by one. Last night it was all about the CH 6B -> 5B 6CD j.C 5B 6CD j.C 5B 3C. It’s fucking monstrous against Tager, Ragna, Hakumen, but I’m still working out the timing of hitting it on smaller characters.
My main limiting factor at this point is still my left hand’s speed (or lack thereof). I still can’t really dash very well, but then again my hand was still hurting from dislocating a finger this weekend
