R.Mika Video Thread: "I'll Totally Make This Look Cool!"

nash is tough because of when he’s safe, but idk I’m just a scrub. Either I can touch nash and knock him down or nash perfects me, there’s usually no inbetween

So many funny moments! Especially round 1 and when you tried to use Mika’s CA as an anti air

NativeImpact has some great setups  I gotta practice that stuff.

I liked the one he pulled against Ryu where he cut his whip short with a reset into c.hp and in.

One thing I definitely need to practice is that corner reset cross up.

some very good videos in here. my Mika is still ass though. no pun intended … whenever i get on online ill try to remember to save the video files to get home help on my game play.

you don’t have to remember if you’re streaming :stuck_out_tongue_winking_eye:

i dont stream. no one wants to see me go 0-10

You make top tier characters look like their Survival Normal counterparts. Speaking of which, nice to see you got the hard colours too!

Here are some of my recent fights. I had a bunch of Nash and Birdie videos too but I thought sharing 12 videos might be too much. I’m in Super Silver now. I honestly didn’t expect to get this far.

ANDDD OREO NADESHIKO!

Yo, that’s YOUR Mika??? Good shit man, I didn’t realize it was you playing until like halfway through haha.

Damn, we need to play sometime. And you need to show me the ropes with Mika.

Fuudo’s Mika is probably the most interesting of the bunch. That gameplay style is something that we may need to explore.

he’s one of the only non-ragequitting Mikas, sadly…

Yup, I hit 3500 LP Ultra silver today and unfortunately many of the Gold league players and above are rage quitters. Regardless, I do love how he outlame his opponent and force them to make the mistake which allows him to get in. Most of us Mika players aren’t patient enough and we usually try to force our ways with either slide, HK,etc, etc. I just love how he was keeping the range that is uncomfortable for Zangief and kept whiff punishing him.

Native Impact is awesome and he is doing great stuff but i feel that Fuudo’s style is what we may have to adopt going forward.

Who is that girl in your avatar?

Cool online ranked match against Tampa Bison. Bison is one of the more annoying match ups till you get in :frowning:

Called Jennifer Nguyen.

Very tenacious and patient offense, especially in round 3. Really showcased how important choosing your moments is with Mika.

I also wanted to highlight something for other players:
At around the 55 second mark you got him into the corner. You made excellent use of walking around and crouching to bluff an eventual charged HK. This was the technique James Chen was describing in one of his Mika videos, and this is a really good example of the concept being applied. It’s subtle, but it had a psychological effect that lasted for the rest of the match and he rarely (if at all) managed to evade another charged s.hk.

Good stuff.

Also, something in this video got me thinking about this match-up. I don’t want to say what until after I go test to see if it’s legit, but I think Mika might have some sweet anti-Bison tech. I’ll go explore it and come back if I find out it works, but I don’t want to say anything in case I’m a huge fraud and it’s not legit.
