From reddit:

*Brimestone still +2 after dash. 10 less damage on non ex versions
*S. Lp is 4f now +2 on block +4 on hit. More knock back. Still in tick throw range. Because +4 on hit tick throws will whiff on hit now.
*S. Lk is still +1 on block
*Pp is 7f su and -8 on block. less lenient confirm window. Also less range and longer recovery. Not even +1 on hit.
*S. Hp 90 damage from 80
*F hp and c hp 80 damage from 90
*All throw oki is the same including crouch throw. v reversal is now -1 or -2 after dash.
*C. Hp -1 on block at best
*C. Lp is same so combos are now c. Lk, c. Lp, xx lp peach/super.
*Giant swing meter gain on whiff is same as brimestones now.
*V-skill throw buff is 20% down from 25%
*Ex peach slightly longer recovery on hit. Different oki now.
*No wall bounce mid screen. They also fall faster now.

*life is 950

She isn’t dead at all

@OceanMachine

Just saw this video that confirms it. Anyway, thanks

Yes it is.

LoL VSkill nerf (plus, remember the grey life recovery in season 2…) it’s inexplicable for me. Anyone?
LK Brimstone now do lesser damage than a normal throw?

By the way, character’s potential on the corner seems remain intact, but I admit that I expected some small buffs (especially for her mid screen game) to compensate the heavy nerfs. Oh yes, +10 damage on the st.HP, yeah…

Wonder if cr. MK is finally gonna be a low now. That wouldn’t be a bad meaty option now.

Soooooooooo… what do you guys do mid screen now?

Backdash in the corner and hoping for a position flip. :o

Or assuming the k/d advantage is still the same, you’d get this:

c.HP nerfs might kill that setup.

Recovery after a passion press (on hit) it’s bigger now, so I don’t think this setup still works.

I think the plan is to go to s.mp s.hp ex peach to get corner carry.

Wow, a smart person.

Yep I agree, probably the best choice for corner carry AND damage.
I think also the Capcom’s purpose is Passion Press only in combos (startup increase, f.MP -8 on block, full PP -40 on block!).

st.HK still -4? No -2 buff?

Does anyone know when this is actually going to release? I’m getting a bit sick of the “what if’s” and “maybes” and just want to get my hands on the real thing lol.

I’ve just got my bearings on Mika, and it will suck to have to relearn some things, but eh w/e. I just don’t want to keep learning things that will be worthless in a month…

Yeah, shitty as nerf for no reason again but everyone is getting their damage cut so yeah…

What is disgusting is that Laura get a 160 damage throw AND better Oki now since brimstone doesn’t loop into itself.

Fucking biased pieces of shits…

I don’t think i have ever seen Capcom being this hell bent in utterly destroying a character in my life before. Even the biggest villains that i can remember from SF games like Vanilla Sagat or AE Yun didn’t get nerfed this bad.

LOL your not even remotely close to vanilla Sagat nerfs.
50 less health.
Tiger Knee was made less safe on block, and the damage of its two hits was swapped around so in Super if you spaced Tiger Knee to hit once you did 60 less damage.
High Tiger Shot lost 5 damage, low lost 10 damage and EX lost 30 damage.
Tiger Uppercut lost between 40 and 70 damage depending on which version you did.
C.HP down 30 damage.
S.HK down 30 damage and damaged swapped on its two hits, meaning it did 70 less damage as an anti air in Super.
S.MP down 10 damage
Cl.S.MP down 15 damage.
S.MK down 10 damage.
C.MP down 20 damage.
C.MK down 25 damage.
F+HK down 40 damage.
S.HP down 20 damage.
C.HP down 20 damage.
J.HP down 20 damage
S.LK became a two hit move and only the first hit was cancel-able, 10 less damage (20 less damage compared to vanilla if you canceled into a special), loss of range on cancel affected his ability to zone.
J.MP active frames greatly reduced.
Ultra 1 damage reduced by 83.

As for Yun you can find his 2012 change list here

I don’t think Mika nerfs compare to either of what those characters received, so try not to go overboard with the reactions.

They turned Sagat into the Burger King. Never forget.

@Azza Oh an how many of them damage changes were universal changes ?

Everyone lost damage from SF4 to SSF4. The only real nerf is his st.LK, HP and slight TK nerf.

He did lose one tool and got a slightly nerfed but useable another. He got the angry scar and his basic strength and weakness remained intact. He also got a new Ultra to help him in some matchups and the angry scar, which buffed his uppercuts and made for some new possibilities.

Mika lost combos, she lost mid-screen post throw pressure. She lost her get in tool (cr.HP meaty into st.LP), She lost the TC after a charged dropkick so even more pressure is lost cuz it doesn’t have pushback. Lost mid-screen reset.

All of these are Mika specific nerfs. I haven’t even touched on the universal changes yet.

She got a whopping nothing to compensate for. Sagat dropped from a tier of his own character to a mid-tier. I doubt that is where Mika is going with her getting only nerfs and everyone else except Cammy getting some new things here and there.

They even nerfed her already useless V-skill.

Now this is the time where Jin will say that the lack of meterless reversal will make her the very best like no one ever was. That will help in 4 matches. The Ryu one will help for sure yeah but her not having the brimstone loop basically means getting stuck in neutral even more so not good as you think. Necalli will be better but he wasn’t exactly a bad matchup to begin with.

The grey life change is so trivial to Mika, cuz she has ZERO pressure based on mediums and heavy except for F.HP which requires being point blank so not happening often. She is not Laura, Karin, Cammy,Bison and the others who can press freaking mediums all day so that change actually hurts Mika more than it helps her.

The V-reversal is kinda mixed. I am also saying it is probably worse cause people V-reversaling a F.HP from her in the corner means that she would lose that position entirely and go back to mid screen where she sucks now.

We will see how it will all shape out when everything is said and done. Mika will still be annoying and will still do her thing but i am expecting a zero tournament viability at this point which is a shame.

Then again we haven’t seen the official list yet. Maybe the nerfs even runs deeper than that. Then again i will have to see things in the general scope of everything. Lets see how she will rack up against everyone else when we do get that patch out.

I will try to refrain from bitching for now.

You’re right, the nerfs that Mika seems to be receiving don’t compare to the nerfs that Sagat received in the transition from ‘Vanilla’ to ‘Super’. The nerfs that Mika seems to be getting are much, much worse. With the Sagat changes I see a grand total of three changes to actual frame data (which affects how a character plays IMO much more than how much damage they deal or how much health they have) with none of those changes being as substantial as turning a pressure tool into a self-frame trap, a safe poke into suicide or a target combo into a punish opportunity for your opponent. I would also point out, to further undermine your comparison, that you’re comparing Sagat and Yun nerfs to Mika when those characters where both substantially better relative to their SFIV peers than Mika is compared to the other characters in SFV. I would also add that I think that nerfs in general are stupid and that the way that Capcom tends to handle them especially so. Tools > Damage > Health. With Vanilla Sagat he lost mostly damage so IMO not a huge deal. With AE Yun he lost varying bits of tools, damage and health. He was also the best character in the game by a decent margin. Mika is mostly losing utility in her tools in addition to a decent drop off in her damage. She’s IMO somewhere between the sixth and eighth best character in SFV S1. So again, not really a comparable situation.

Only real thing I wish was if she’s not plus after Brimstone anymore, make her slam them further away so if I dash up I’m not directly in their face at disadvantage. Not really sure what post mixup there is since she’s always negative, what risk does someone have associated with just waking up with a button everytime they get hit with it? Similar to Birdie. He’s always 0 after dashing up after successful cmd grab, but he’s so far away they can’t really challenge him anyway. Also, not sure if it’s been noted but beta changes show that Brimstone got a damage nerf of 10 on each version.
