on ch we now get to ex peach, super nice as it is already a great poke and easy to confirm that
other thoughts:
no invincibility on startup for dps is big for mika. ch mp now links to lady mike, potential there maybe for setups. air tc is super satisfying, more damage than c.mp and still advantage. but mostly super satisfying =D
gotta learn new routes and more meaty c.jab and stuff…biggest thing is actually having to use meter for more ex peaches since only c.lp links off of c.lk and has less hitstun than st.lp did so lp peach doesnt always combo. that and i feel like ch c.lp, st.mp, 6mp whiffs more often (in my limited testing) so more ex peach there too.
Counter hit c.MK into EX peach is really good for an already good button. Irish whips still give you dash meaties and retardo corner carry. Which is fine because Mika still gets what she wants without being able to fish so freely and tack on so much damage with all of that carry.
Still going to be a dominant character in tournaments. Still kills you way too easily once you get anywhere near the corner and her pressure and jump game inherently become better without frame 1 meterless dps. Chun is the same. Just have to adjust the way you play a bit and majority of the stuff that made people cry is still there with some new stuff to make them cry as well.
Mika will still make people cry and that means good character.
@“DevilJin 01” man i had a really tough time using her midgame now, especially against rashid (online though). I wasnt able to punish his stupid unsafe specials properly and consitantly, vtrigger setups dont work anymore…I’m having a hard time with her in midgame.

she’s still +1 after EX Peach knockdowns after dashing up. just have to commit/react to what recovery they do to still meaty. No coverall option anymore like off regular peach.
If no 3f MP still great. With 3f it must be dLP(+1 OB) and its kinda weak. Problem that we force to use ex peach a lot. On back roll mp,hp wiff so mp ex peach:(. Fmk will be minus(need testing).
Also mp,hp,VTback(charge),hp,ex peach,vt hit,dmp not work. Need to change last hp on mp
Frame data hasn’t changed with regular peach, so I go for the same stuff I did before. st.MK for back recoveries, commonly st.MP, jab or Brimstone for normal recoveries.
But I would like to know what people do after the EX Peach. The +4 frames to recovery really messes things up. dash > cr.LP is the meaty for normal recoveries, but st.MK doesn’t seem right for back recoveries anymore. Risky if you guess wrong, too.
Finally got to try R.Mika today. She is still pretty viable in my opinion. She did lose some Oki on EX peach but so did a lot of other characters and you are still at a +1 after a dash. The V-skill buff is quite nice but it isn’t something that we should abuse.
If you’re gdlk at hit confirming off s.MP then I guess nothing, but otherwise it’s a safe on block confirm for super that leaves you at only minus 2. s.HP is minus 6 so unless your hit confirm game is on fleek, c.MK is better to use to fish into super. Plus with the V Skill buff you’re doing mad damage any way.
It’s pretty obvious a character like Mika would be viable in Season 2. Game changes were basically built around characters like Mika and she can still throw you towards a corner way too quickly. Still has very difficult to anti air jump in game in a game with generally weaker anti airs. V Skill being useful is a step up from being useless and new counter hit combos open up options as well.
She is fun to play even though everyone hates fighting her.
Agree with Jin here. It is better to fish for a super after a st.MP with cr.MK. The super is also a link and not a cancel at this point so depending on you it might be easier or harder for you. You might also wanna consider st.MP X2 but i like cr.MK because it is a safer poke hitbox wise.
