R.Mika Matchup: 'cus pro wrestling is... the very BEST!

Cammy, Nash and F.A.N.G really know how to put the hurt on me. I need to start evolving.

Karin is still giving me the most trouble online.

hey guys, im just wondering I went up against another R.Mika and we both did the charging roundhouse attack, but it beat mine both times. It looked like we charged it at the same time since it was at the beginning of each round and we let go almost at the same time. I dont know what I am missing here. Thanks!

Just fought 2 different Sims in a row, and I swear I have never come so close to throwing my stick ever! They would throw out that stupid arching flame then throw out the stretchy limbs and I basically could not get in at all. The slide wont go far enough to get under the flame, and if you do happen to hit his limbs he is too far away. The few times I got in he was teleporting all over the place. I’m sure there is a simple way to deal with him, but I was so frustrated by the second match I cracked hard.

Dhalsim is really good at zoning in this game. Probably the strongest in the game. He also has combos at close range and a super that can be a devastating mix up. He is definitely not a favorable match up for R.Mika, but not too harsh. For example, wingless takes out nearly all his air superiority. He can’t V-Skill, and his dive kick is fairly useless once you start punishing it. As for your fireball problem, it has a long animation. If you react immediately with a dash you can slowly work your way in. He will try to push back with stretchy limbs but its unsafe on block. You can react to it with an ex shooting peach.

The main problem with Dhalsim is that while he requires nothing but ground game, his zoning makes it nearly impossible to poke. I know this is going to sound stupid but you really do win once you get up close, even with his teleports. This is mainly because his teleports can’t get him /far/ enough. The only thing you really need to do is block whatever mix up he comes up with then punish it if you have meter. I’d also recommend trying to punish his teleports with light wingless airplane if he does it on the ground or heavy if in the air since even if it misses it gets you in a better position to handle the zoning that comes up. The worst that can happen is you’ll get punished by a single stretch attack or be completely reset in the zoning game, but teleport was already going to do that for the most part anyway.

The biggest tip that I can give for you, is honestly patience. It sucks ‘doing nothing’, but the footsie game with Dhalsim takes a lot longer in order to get into a good position due to his zoning. Think of it like an annoying boss in an action game. Constantly moving around till you can reach the weak spot and go all out then block as much as you can once it starts attacking again.

@casinonights yes he is whenever he does his Eagle kick thing you can punish with MP shooting peach or you can also do the rope throw or also you can combo HP into HP shooting peach but for this one I think you might have to take a step forward. These are just a few things I found.

OK ran into a decent Chun and I’m at a total loss. I don’t understand how to approach her and I can’t seem to punish any of her moves. Wtf?

Yeah that’s a really bad match up it seems like. You just have to pretty much play patient and look for punishes and try to corner her and once you have cornered don’t let her out lol

Also I don’t recommend using your Charge HK to get in because she can just go under it using cr MK and punish you every time.

Here go some of my notes on Chun and some punishes if you block any of these moves. Her HP seems to be totally safe. Only thing I found out is that you can inch up a liiiiittle bit after a blocked HP. But it really is super safe.

You can punish chun-li sweep with the EX punch command throw. Even a “semi-deep” sweep.

Nice, does it work at max range sweep??

Nope :frowning: i’ve tried in training and it works with a deep or semi-deep sweep.

It absolutely does punish her sweep. I just tested it. But for max range sweep you have to EX shooting peach

Does anyone have fresh ideas on how to approach Karin? I’ve been getting my ass handed to me lately by them despite most of the ones I face not doing much other than spamming her specials.

I approach her with cr.hp from a safe distance.

You have to be careful with this though. We have a good karin locally and when I was trying this because her walkspeed is good he was just backing up and then whiff punished it a few times. Definitely an option but don’t abuse it.

You literally have to dash in order to keep up with her normal walk speed its so cruel >_<. And you basically have to rely on anti air as going in the air against her is madness. Idk she just feels too damn slippery to catch. Its really grinding my gears.

What Karin sucks at though is waking up. Her only strong wake up option burns meter, and you can get around it pretty easy. Once you get her down, don’t let up.

Yesterday I fought against Vega and Bison players. It was hard for me to get in, I feel like I’m not aggressive enough. Jumping in wasn’t a good option for me bc their anti-air were on point.

Also, I noticed that whenever I get too close to them, they would jump towards me for an attempt to cross up. cr.MP(headbutt anti-air) doesn’t work well against cross ups bc it pushes your character forward. The options I came up with to counter this were either jump back fierce or react with half-circle forward KKK.

I did read the previous posts by other players on the Bison match up, and I think it applies to Vega as well. I lack the knowledge to exceed in these match up. I’m here seeking more data on match ups :P.

Yea I know you are right. That’s why I use it casually.
