Some shit Max found.
That mixup looks nasty. But we will have to wait and see how real human opponents react to this.
Still, this could have potential.
You can also go for command grabs after the reset, or bait out a DP and punish. He also tries her super on the CPU after the reset and it works. But the CPU isn’t too reliable for testing this.
i’m too sleepy to be able to be able to comprehend shit, is that one of those mix-ups where it’s confusing, but if you actually know the character you can tell where she’s going to land, or is it truly an ambiguous cross-under. my gut says you should be able to see it, but i’m too tired to have the desire to go over a video several times.
it’s still good if you can see it since she’s a grappler
Yeah, but combine this with what Combo did in this vid:
So after the mixup you could go for another Irish Whip(I don’t know what the actual move is called) into the reset, or go for grabs/super, or bait out a DP with her V-skill and then punish. Perhaps you could even try to set up Nadeshiko during all this.
@32:12 Mika’s charge s.HK can actually be low profiled. This is a pretty important defensive tactic to use against this move, as pressing a single button is much easier than inputting a dp motion in that small amount of time. What low profile moves do we know are in the game? Clearly Mika’s c.MK can at least go under her s.HK in this vid. I think Ryu’s c.MK could, along with Chuns df.MP and possibly sweep.
I’m actually very surprised that nobody mentioned doing mic performance on wake-up to bait DPs. That’s one of the first things I thought and combining that with Nadeshiko makes it even better. Being able to pressure on wake-up while being completely safe from invincible moves is something that I miss doing in Street Fighter games because there aren’t any puppet characters. But Mika can sort of give me that which is another reason why I’m maining her.
It’s because a simple block and punish will do the job better. If they block on wake up, Mika’s v-skill is unsafe on block, and negative on hit… Not to mention it gets blown up by any EX or multihit/grab reversal.
There’s not much going for it currently other than trying to get a grab power up after a tornado throw, but stuff like ryu qucik-rise ex fireball will still hit you. Its a complete dumpster v-skill, hopefully they speed it up a bit in future builds.
This why I also brought up using Nadeshiko to cover you while you do it. I’ve already seen it work in videos. Of Course mulit-hit reversals are always a threat so its not absolute. Also I feel like it might be a better option than just block and punish because more people are inclined to reversal when they see you doing something. With a Nadeshiko cover even if they wake up and block they have to block her and the mic toss. If done right you get a grab buff, a bait,a possible punish, and pressure all at once.
Of course this is nothing but brainstorming and you could be completely right but its definitely something I’m interested in messing with. I’m also interested in how much time she has to use her V-skill after she does the far command grab since it sends them to the other side of the screen.
With the beta getting closer, if some of you played her already can you tell what’s her go to anti air if she has one? The headbutt or anti air grab? Are they really reliable?
I don’t think she has a go-to… They’ll all be situational.
For most reliable, EX Airplane because the hitbox is so big. Regular Airplane is very good but requires slightly more timing whereas EX will beat everything.
c.MK wont be as good against deep jump-ins, unlike Makoto’s c.MK in IV for instance, the hitbox doesn’t really cover her hurtbox, like I said earlier though it’s really good vs shallow jumps.
In those situations you’d preferrably use c.MP, which is also good against crossups, but like I said, will trade against good jump normals and will most likely not be in your favor.
