I honestly think at least one of them will make it into the core roster, because one grappler isn’t enough for grappler fans imo. They need to have at least one more. My money is on Gief (most popular grappler, story related to Mika, big and slow compared to Mika). Alex later via dlc.
That and st.HK to get over fireballs. But it might’ve been a heat of the moment sort of thing, where the player didn’t think about that. I might not have.
cr.MP - Self-explanatory. R. Mika’s head-butt. Can also be very good against other players trying to jump out of the corner.
cr. MK - Good for late antiair a certain positions.
st. HK - (preemptive)
(possibly) cr. HK in certain positions due to low profile but it would be wise to use discretion for this move, otherwise… just block use something that is quicker.
forward+Heavy Punch(?) - (I know this launches grounded opponent for a juggle combo but the only thing I need to confirm is if forward+Heavy Punch command move can also grant R. Mika a decent juggle combo.
I’d love Hugo or a new female grappler, but if Gief makes it I won’t be complaining either.
Unfortunately I think the next grappler is only Alex, which sucks as it would mean that none of the true grapplers from previous games made it into SF5.
I wonder how good as an anti air will be her wingless airplane.
For the Lady Mika, I saw it used once against a Dictator as an AA (in a Gooteck’s match I think. Crush counter on hit). For the combo, I don’t know, maybe with Nadeshiko and an ex Shooting Peach (like, 6HP > Ex SP > Nadeshiko during the move > LP for the reset ?)
And yeah, I want to see 2MK and 2HP used as an anti air in that game, just to know if they are better than/as good as in Alpha 3.
Edit : The only new thing I notice on the Khaos Gaming’s videos is the armor on the ex shooting peach (on the first hit)
The best part about that second video with Mike U. on player 2 side is that he taunted on accident more than a couple times. Taunts in this game are hitting all 6 buttons at once.
He was literally hitting all the buttons at once to get stuff to happen.

Yeah from a full screen away Mika’s V-Skill looks like a pretty nifty way to deal with long range plasma spam since the microphone is considered a projectile and trades with fireballs in addition to the hit of armor. The one thing I haven’t really seen anyone do, though, is punish her when she uses it at point blank range. Her microphone toss doesn’t travel far, it goes straight to the ground, and the recovery time looks redonkulous. Looks like a whole lotta free damage that people are leaving on the table against her.
She’ll be susceptible to rushdown and heavy pressure. She doesn’t appear to have any invincible reversals and at least one of her command throws are 4-frames, so no mashing out 2-frame command throw reversals. Meaties are going to blow her up. You’ll need to know how to block and punish and take advantage of how very combo friendly she seems to be.

Thanks to him/her, we know that both Ex Giant Swing and regular Hagotori Command grab are 5 frames startup command grab (the same than Thunder in KI ?). I don’t think that’s a bad thing.
